Works great for my garage woodworking shop
I already own a WEN drill press so I wasn't too concerned about the quality or if it would work. I have it set up with with a 4" vacuum hose that is adapted down to fit on various pieces of wood working tools. 10" table saw, Band saw and today a 12" surface planer. It has worked great so far. I ran 10" boards thru my planer today and it vacuumed everything away and kept up. The noise isn't bad, actually less than any of the mentioned tools. It sucks up everything that isn't thrown in the air by the machines. Picks up about 95% which is great. If you are thinking about this one just buy it.

Absolutely worth the money
There is controversy on whether these cheap units are better than a shop vac... if you are hesitating because of that, don't. Its much better than a shop vac for dust collection. I will say, that I am not a WEN fan. I have been burned by low quality on a few of their tools, but the price on this dragged me back for more punishment... So far i am pleasantly surprised. The next cheapest comparable dust collection unit was still 50$ more at harbor freight, and any sort of unit that would be an further improvement was 3x the price or more, so i decided to take a chance on it. For roughly the price of a shop vac, this is a much better choice. I went through 3! shop vacs before trying this. Burned up a brand new craftsman, tried a used ridgid that had nowhere near enough suction, and was using my old "filter queen" house vacuum with some success, but needed more airflow, as my hoses kept filling up with dust. This is way better. The suction isn't necessarily impressive, and if it encounters resistance, it wont "push through" like a shopvac might, but it has way better air throughput, which is what you need for dust collection. Manage your expectations, keep your hose runs short, and enjoy. My small shop dust collection system finally works!

Pretty good for the price, but there is NO remote control.
I mounted it under the out-feed table for my cabinet saw where it's out of the way. It's plugged into an outlet which is switched from the front of the saw, allowing for convenient control. It does it's job pretty well. My biggest peeve is the difficulty of detaching and emptying the bag. I will try to find a quick-release clip to replace the screw one.

It’s a sawdust collector
They claim it is the quietest one on the market. I would hate to have purchased a noisier one! But it does capture sawdust very effectively

Dust collector
Used about ten hrs total in a space of three days twice I turned it off and after a 45 minute break it wouldn’t come back on . So I held the reset button for five minutes and it turned on . The 2nd time same thing but it wouldn’t come back on. Calked the wen number for help. The tech had me take out the brushes to see if any dust had gotten in, no dust so he says it is the switch I don’t think so I think it was in the reset button . So he is sending me a new switch . A few hours later go back out into the shop and just flip the switch not expecting it to come on it does ran it the rest of the day probably 4 hrs it e we irked fine . When will it not work again ?????

Working well after a few months.
Really enjoying this dust collector. Suction is decent, does what I need it to most of the time. I think it’s very quiet. My young daughter’s bedroom is above my garage workshop space and I can barely hear it in her room, which was a concern.

Good for the money, but has some problems that could be easily fixed
This is a pretty good budget collector, an I was expecting budget quality going into it, but in the end there are some issues that the manufacturer needs to address to make it competitive and more worthwhile. First, the protective screen between the intake and impeller clogged constantly when using a jointer or planer. One would assume this likely also applies to handheld power planets and other power tools that produce larger chips and shavings, which are primarily what you’d be buying a collector for in the first place. The waste material collects on the rough expanded metal screen because of its texture and shape. This could easily be fixed by using a different material for the screen that goes ant effectively coated with sandpaper. The second issue of a the collector bag. The zipper on the bottom of the bag is plastic and has trouble zipping from the factory. This difficulty zipping only compounds when unavoidable dust and chips after emptying gets caught in them. Mine took about two weeks before it just stopped zipping entirely. Collector bags, however, are pretty cheap, so o just bought a new one which was also able to filter down to 5 microns. I shouldn’t have had to do this though and the bag should have been engineered better to be more durable. Given the chance, I would not buy again and just went for the mid to high end brands from the start. I would say this is more suited for hobby woodworker who are really only building personal projects from time to time, as opposed to a hobby or professional woodworker who does any sort of production work or heavy milling of materials; the quality and durability just isn’t there for production work. Finally, repair parts seem to be a crapshoot. I was able to get a replacement impeller when mine broke (as noted above, the screen clogs easily, so I had to remove it) directly from Wen. However, Wen seems to be the only source for repair parts—they don’t seem to sell parts to retailers—so when it came time to replace it a second time because of the same root cause (poor quality screen that clogs too easily) and the part was out of stock, I couldn’t fix the collector. This was the point I decided to just buy a completely new unit and transition this one to a backup or just dedicate it to my table saw.

Good value
I can’t imagine this would work very well without a cyclone disco extractor or two stage system. It has good suction with a 20’ ribbed flex hose. It’s a lot smaller than I anticipated which is good because I have a small shop. I was trying to find the smallest 1.5 horse as I could. I will only be using it on one tool at a time which it seems to be suitable for. Now as soon as I opened it it came with replacement carbon brushes and said the installed ones were good for 250 hours. A regular 40 hour work week is 2080 hours per year so you can tell right away this is for light home use and not commercial use. I thought 250 hours of use time was ridiculously low. I would not have bought it if I had known this. The optimistic side of me hopes that this is a case where the manufacturer is being abundantly over cautious. But the fact that they sent a free replacement with the unit tells me this is their biggest warranty issue. I plan to mount the unit on a cinder wall with rubber foot pads. The unit is remarkably quiet sitting without the wheels on the ground. For those who said it’s loud, I might think they have something loose on it.

Disappointed , good for a bandsaw or tablesaw
Doesn’t have much suction and clogs when used with my planer, jointer. The dust bag is hard to empty without making a mess, once the zipper even busted open. Blowing sawdust all over my shop. I’m disappointed in this unit, it’s loud too.

Excelente precio/calidad/funcionalidad

Decent little unit
Depends upon what you are looking for, but in general it is a good device. Small and compact, for the size of my shop, space is paramount, it doesn’t take up a big amount of space. Good suction and not overly loud. However, I have connected it to a small cyclonic dust collection system using it as the driver. The dust being collected is separated into a separate barrel before it enters the Wen, very little dust passes through the fan on the Wen and into the bag. I believe this has eliminated the clogging that other users have reported. Don’t expect it to suck up every speck of dust and chip, it’s not an industrial grade 10,0000000000 CFM machine that pulls planes out of the sky, but connected properly, it will catch the bulk of your dust. As far as the quality goes, no issues there. Recommend

Works well for my garage wood working workshop.
Works well for my garage wood working workshop. Strong enough that the somehow heavy duty trashcan (made for construction work) that I use for my cyclone shrinks when it blows air. I will have either to change my trash can or put something in place to keep it strait.
