Good quality, but huge
Got this cuz I'm a big guy at 280. I thought this big would be needed. But it's too big. Why is it too big? Mainly, the cuff is too wide in that from my armpit to the elbow, it shows a diagram that you need to have the cuff end at 1 inch above the inside crease of the elbow. This band goes about 2 inches past my elbow. I'm 5'7" This is not really about being for people with big arms. It's more about people with long arms of people that are 6'2" or taller. And if you just really have too big an arm circumference. Also I did try to use it and my BP kept coming out 30 pts lower than the default band. It seemed that maybe the cuff was not sensing my arm pressure as well. I'm returning the XL band, but keeping the main setup as is.

How to use the XL cuff with this machine
It took forever for me to find a cuff and machine that worked together. I am chubby not huge so I was amazed how hard to was to find a cuff that would fit my arm. The XL cuff is a bit big but it was the only one that wasn't for little arms.. The cuff comes with a different silver attachment which does not fit. First I thought they sent me the wrong machine and returned. Next machine same thing. The booklet shows to pinch and gently pull to detach the hose so you can attach a different size cuff. They need to update their little book!! That is not correct! It won't come off. It isn't supposed to. I contacted Welch Allen chat and they were useless, but when I called they were excellent. Super helpful. Knew exactly how to fix it in minutes. Apparently they were originally made with the silver connector to easily change cuffs on the same machine. The FDA decided that was not ok and so they had to go with the hose that does not detach from the machine. However the other cuff sizes where already made with the silver attachment. They just sell them and let you figure it out. They could easily have put an update card in the box to explain. They did nothing. What you need to do is take the cord on the XL cuff off completely. Where it attaches to the cuff you will feel a piece of plastic inside the cuff. Carefully move it around and out the hose hole to take it off. Then you take the hose attached to the machine and attach it where you just took the other hose off and you're ready to go. I am so annoyed they couldn't inform us of the change and how to correct it. I had to chase down the answer. I expect better from such a huge company in the medical field. Once attached it works great. I like the Bluetooth feature with the app. It auto records the reading and has a scale in color to show you were you are. It's basic which is really nice. I do wish the cuff was not so wide. It goes from my elbow to my armpit. It needs to be a little less wide but I am glad I finally found a system that works.

Only lasts us 2 months (about 240 inflations). 2 cuffs have had same air leak. Update: 3rd cuff lasting longer.
Amazon sometimes mixes reviews for products so let me say firstly that this review is for the Welch Allyn model RPM-BPACC-03 extra large blood pressure cuff. This cuff only works with a specific Welch Allyn blood pressure monitor/machine. We bought its companion machine and this optional extra large cuff in November 2017. After 2 months, the cuff first failed in early February 2018. The warranty replacement cuff then failed yesterday which is April 2018. So, the cuffs only last about 2 months. They are inflated 4 times a day so that's about 240 inflations in 2 months then the cuff fails. It leaks air at the point where the tube is inserted into the bladder. The leak is within the fabric covering so we can't see it but you can hear the air leaking when the machine attempts to inflate it. You can get a warranty replacement but it's a chore. Expect to be tied up about 20 minutes if you're lucky and that's if you have everything ready for them. They have revamped their phone systems and don't have a direct link to the so-called Welch Allyn Home division for this equipment so there's lots of hold time and extension transfers to get to the right department. It's a hassle going through their phone systems to get to the right department and after reaching the right department you've got to answer many questions. They will want your machine's model and serial because even though the failure you are reporting is for the optional extra large cuff that you purchased seperately, they say they tie everything about the service history to the machine it works with. They will also want the model and lot numbers from the failed cuff. They will also require you to fax or email a copy of your sales receipt. It's about a 7 day turn around to get a replacement and you have to pack and ship the old one back. They did pay shipping both ways but it's going to require that you go to FedEx or one of the FedEx locations to drop off the return of the failed unit. Luckily, a Walgreens drug store close to us has an in-store FedEx counter. It's still a hassle compared to placing it out for the postal carrier to pick up. I have to suspect there are problems in manufacturing but the tech reps at Welch Allyn said I'm the only one with problems. Well, I just let that go, of course. However, we are gentle with the device and it sits in a dedicated plastic storage tray between uses and it is used while we are seated at a table. My point is, there is no tugging, twisting, or stress exerted at the cuff and we are normotensive (b/p in normal range) so it's not inflating to the upper end of its capabilities yet it develops a leak. First time I thought it was random. Second time just seems like a trend. If it's a trend, then the next failure can be expected around June or July 2018. I'll be back to post if that occurs. In the meantime, I suppose I'll purchase another so we have a spare to get us through the 7 day turnaround time for warranty replacement. Update 10/10/2018 - Cuff is still working since the most recent warranty replacement cuff was sent to us in April 2018. We don't do 4 readings per day any more. We now do 2 per day. So 2 per day times 30 days a month times 6 months since April equals 360 inflations and still working. So, we are past the 240 inflations mark on this third cuff and have gotten 360 inflations and it's still working. I'll be back if it fails to let you now how long it lasted.

Good for home, not professional quality
Good for use at home, not of professional quality for clinic use

Way, way too big
This extra large cuff is immense. It would likely fit a person weighing 500+ pounds. The quality is good, just the size was way too big for my needs.

Too big and doesn't work as is
This cuff is made for people with larger arms. This cuff is really wide from top to bottom, in addition to being a longer length for around the arm. It doesn't really work for the person in my home who has thick biceps (measured around the arm) but who has an average length arm from shoulder to elbow. Also, while the cuff is supposed to plug into the specific Welch Allyn machine we own, it does not. We had to pull the adapter off the end to push the tube onto the machine.

hose should be the correct size. I ordered, the same brand, it worked. the screw attachment didn't.
I took the hose off at the sleeve and put the original on. same size. it worked.

Works Great for Polygraph
Needed a small cuff for my polygraph instrument. This worked great on the wrists. Was able to get readings on an Axciton instrument. All my Welch Allyn cuffs works great with this instrument
