small plastic part was broken - no big deal, waiting to hear from the manufacturer
i haven't had a chance to install the unit - it came from a private Amazon user/business. There was a broken piece that was required for the installation. The unit price was great, much cheaper than the usual retail price by $200. I'm waiting to hear from the manufacturer regarding obtaining the small plastic connector. Then I'll finish the review. I chose middle-of-the-road stars temporarily.

Failed big time after 2 years
Installed fine with the plumbing work you would expect. If you are a DIYer, consider this job relatively advanced. If I had not built a bypass into the plumbing, I would have had much more trouble after it failed. The filter worked fine until it failed. The screw on top split in half (see photo) under full house water pressure (65psi) well below its specified maximum pressure of 90psi. If I had not heard the failure (loud bang), I could have had 10s of thousands of dollars of damage to my home. I called my city water dept to determine if I had experienced some kind of water pressure spike that night. They looked up the data and told me there had been no water pressure spikes. The screw on top just failed without warning. I want to say Amazon was great and provided support after this happened. They provided me with a full one-time refund even though they felt it was a manufacture responsibility. I cannot say the same about the manufacturer. They really are not interested in talking to homeowners that spend money on their products. Even for warranty purposes. I would only recommend this product if you were willing to put a water leak sensor product in with it.

Customer service doesn't exist
We purchased this product to eliminate a couple of water filtration and non-salt water conditioning. The unit is being used for wholehouse water filtering and water conditioning. Some of the internal parts are plastic and very flimsy. One part that directs water flow internally, broke with the first filter replacement. I have tried several times to obtain a replacement for the part to no avail. I would not purchase this unit for long term solutions to water treatment or filtering. The replacement filters are very expensive, with no solutions availed to you if a flimsy plastic part is broken. The only solution is to buy a new unit. A very expensive proposition.

The big fault with this product is the size isnt standard so they make their money by you having to buy their filter product. My filters need replaced and the price is insane so after tons of research this is what i recommend. big blue Filter Housing-1"NPT Bras Port-Fit 4.5"x 20" Filter Watts (RC-W-BB-20-50) 20"x4.5" White Empty Refillable Cartridge Filtersorb SP3 NAC Replacement Media For Salt-Free Water Conditioners - 1 Liter NAC and & TAC media are almost the same and one isnt better than the other. you can find this for about 100. The 3 items above are cheaper than the replacement filter for this item and in 3 or 4 years all you have to do is replace the media for about $100. This system works as advertised. It doesn't remove lime but it does make it so it doesn't stick to anything which is exactly why i bought it. I bought a new coffee maker because the last one was pretty much dead from the lime build up inside and with this system I see 0 buildup. I keep a mirror in the shower to shave and it has 0 build up where normally i would have to clean it with vinegar once a week but not now. with my water usage I wont have to change the filters for 3 years. Don't expect your dishes to be spotless out of the dishwasher. you might notice a white powder which wipes off easily if that's a big deal to you but i don't mind. my main concern was extending the life of appliances.

Leaking Fittings
I just finished installing this unit to replace a Colligan salt unit. I had problems with the threaded inlet/outlet adaptors leaking through the threads. I tried Teflon tape three times before using tfe paste which so far has fixed the problem. Other things to consider would be putting shutoff valves on both sides of the filter and a bypass system (if you have room) to bypass the filter and still have water to your house. The valve on the outlet side keeps your house plumbing system from draining back to the filter. Some people have noted the filter cost vrs salt costs. Our current salt price is over six dollars per bag. At two bags per month that is $432 for three years. Of course, there will be differences depending on water hardness and water usage. It might be helpful for some people if Watts could supply 3/4" inlet/outlet fittings instead of one inch. Many older homes have 3/4" piping. The new home we were living in in 2007 had one inch service lines.

Fantastic high flow filter/anti-scale system
I have installed over a dozen of these Watts Oneflow units including one in our shop. They are so much easier to maintain than a water softener and you don't have to worry about wasting water weekly due to a regen cycle, nor do you have to have electricity. Also the chlorine removal is a huge plus. Most softeners cannot even do that.

Noticeable difference for a fractional cost, and some wrenching
We didn’t want an actual softener for myriad reasons but we needed a solution for the extremely hard water. After a week of research we settled in giving this a shot and have not been disappointed. Our house is new construction and I finally installed this filter after we’d been here for a month, and already fixture were accumulating scaling and we were running vinegar through the dishwasher. We saw that stop within a coyote days and while standing water that evaporate will leaves spots, those spots are more a dusty residue that easily wipes up. We are running the filter in sequence with an electromagnetic descaler (HQUA), which was installed simultaneously, so it is difficult to say how much effect is compounded by the joint treatment. The carbon filter does exactly what it’s supposed to. Tap water is now plenty satisfying to drink and the old chlorine odor is hardly present, if at all. Over all extremely satisfied with the installation process, the only difficulty was my inability to properly apply the silicone tape properly the first time to the brass threading.
