Well made, but some drawbacks are not obvious.
April 2023 I upgraded to four stars-- this product works well in cooler weather. This is a well made and attractive American product, but has some idiosyncrasies that are not immediately apparent. While it is light-weight but still tough with good stainless steel (?) hardware, it tends to stick to itself as well as to un-wetted lawn such that it is actually quite hard to pull into position. Generally harder than a vinyl or rubber hose weighing much more. Also, it is susceptible to knotting because of its small diameter and stickiness to itself. I bought it for using with a hose-end sprayer, but have found that it is NOT easier to pull around than a heavier hose. If one uses it in the morning when the lawn is wet with dew, it slides well. Also, it would probably be a good product if you are pulling it straight out from a mounted hose reel where there is not a lot of maneuvering to do.

Best hose I ever purchased!
My husband gets annoyed with me every year because every year I purchase or talk about purchasing a hose. Basically, every hose I've bought has been garbage. Inhave a garage full of them. I set upon my research this year and talked to local garden shop owner and discovered this lovely product. It's long and lightweight, but is still powerful enough for my needs and my long backyard. Best purchase I made in 2022, haha!

Lightweight, flexible, stainless steel ends (optional), little water pressure loss using 1/2" water hose BUT has MAJOR issues
6/8/18 - I officially relegated this hose to the basement for emergency use. It's junk. The Water Right folks told me that 1/2 inch hose would not cause a drop in water pressure. It did. I'm done. If anyone on Amazon wants a gently used Water Right 1/2" hose for the $20 + shipping, let me know and it's yours. I paid over $120 for this POS. 6/1/18 update - OK, I bought this hose 2 years ago and my opinion is only going lower. Buy this hose ONLY IF you need a drinking water approved hose for an RV or whatever use includes drinking water. Otherwise. it's still an overpriced POS. I was trying to use this hose tonight to water some fresh topsoil and grass seed. It got caught on my car tires 3 times and my garbage cans twice and it kinks. Read on for more unimpressed details. 2/4/17 Update: I officially hate this hose. I was fair and gave it a LONG trial period and it simply fails all my requirements. I wanted to wash salt and ice off my car. It's 28 degrees outside and I used warm water (90 degrees). This hose is magnetic for tires in any weather but worse when it's cold out. It grabs tires like velcro, kinks up in cold weather and is just a general pain in the A$$ to use. This hose is NOT worth the price unless you absolutely need it to supply drinking water for an RV or other potable water requirement. Otherwise, it's an expensive, kinky, tire grabbing POS. 9/9/16 update - I have no idea how this hose gets 5 star ratings. Yes it is light, the stainless steel fittings are nice and there is no pressure drop despite being 1/2" but I can't get over how poorly this hose behaves around car tires, lawn mower wheels, corners on the house and even trying to pull it off the Eley hose winder, especially for the super premium price. If you try to pull this hose off the winder at any angle, it still hangs up despite repeated daily use. I have to repeatedly walk back into the garage to pull it off the winder straight on. It doesn't kink up in warm weather but it is magnetic for anything it touches - it simply can't be pulled around anything without walking back to do it straight on. Bottom line is that this hose is WAY, WAY too expensive to have any of these flaws and unless you absolutely require a poly hose that is drinking water approved, look at the Eley hoses that are 1/2 the price and perform twice as well. I also can't figure out who said water plants requires a poly hose. 7/27/16 update - the longer I own this hose, the less I like it. It has not "broken in" as I would have hoped. It gets caught on everything - tires, rocks and even the Eley hose winder forcing me to back into the garage to peel off more hose. My far cheaper Lowe's hose (50 feet/$50 with brass fittings) has far less "stickiness" than this hose. In retrospect, if I needed a "drinking water" hose, I would have bought the Eley polyurethane hose in 100 foot 5/8" size for $89. Water Right has this hose all wrong and it's simply a money maker for them. Very disappointed. Original review: I bought the 1/2" x 100 foot hose from Amazon Warehouse for about $30 off list price. It arrived in sort of a tangled mess in a generic box sans the original instructions so I got them online. Following the online directions, I laid the house out in the direct sun on an 85 degree day under pressure for about 90 minutes. The pro and con are below: Pro: - Love the tough, well made stainless connectors which are optional but worth the extra $$. Many hose companies are using "aircraft aluminum" for connectors and touting them as an advantage - they are not, the simply corrode and wear down quickly. Aluminum is simply cheaper in cost and easier to machine than brass and certainly the far harder stainless steel - Very light weight and easy to handle, coils well and lays flat off the hose reel - Not much pressure drop using the 1/2" hose versus the 5/8" hose I replaced. It may actually increase water pressure with the diameter the same as the copper water lines in my house - Drinking water safe and great for an RV - the 1/2" size hose takes up far less space on my Eley hose reel. I could easily add another 50 foot section to the 100 foot section I bought with no problem Con: - Expensive, see if you get a deal from Amazon Warehouse. - The hose can be tough to pull off an Eley hose reel from an angle. The hose may need more "break in" time but right now, it catches on the hose reel and car tires very easily. If that changes with use, I'll update this review. I rate products based on real world, hands on use. I flatly refuse to take ANY "discounts" or "freebies" for ANY review. I've given plenty of 5 star ratings to other products when they deserve them but this hose is way too expensive, gets caught on everything and is basically an overpriced, underperforming pain in the butt.

Solid, lightweight, quality garden hose that delivers BPA-free water.
2021 Update - 5 years later, this hose is still holding up strong. No leaks. It actually still looks fairly new especially considering we leave it out all year and do not even attempt protect it from the elements. Very happy! Original 2016 Review: What I love: 1) Lightweight, easy to handle. 2) Solid construction - I considered getting one of those expandable hoses and am glad to have chosen this item because it is just way sturdier those type of hoses. 3) Safe, chemical free water - I primarily use hose for our vegetable garden and like the fact that I'm not spraying water laced with nasty chemicals. (walk through the garden hose section of any garden center and you will smell the outgassing) 4) Made in USA. 5) Nice colorful design - not your typical "pasty green" garden hose. What I didn't realize: the outside surface of this hose does not glide over itself making it a little harder to navigate through a garden. A traditional hose has a smooth skin that slides easily over itself and other garden objects (think of a slithering snake). The surface of this hose kind of "clings" to itself (imagine putting a taught thick layer of plastic wrap over this hose). And so it can have a tendency to clink up, however, the lightweight-ness of this hose somewhat makes up for that. This hose is pricey: 2+ times the cost of a traditional garden hose that you can pick up at a garden center. Despite the price, I am very happy with this hose and am very glad that I got it. Only time will tell how long this will last over the years. Overall: If you want a solid-built garden hose that delivers drinking-water safe water, then this hose is for you. I would not get this hose if a) you're looking for a generic garden hose that just delivers water b) you're looking for a super lightweight, disposable expandable hose. In both cases, you can get a better deal for your dollar. Afterthought - I had considered getting the 400 model to save a few bucks as it has a smaller diameter. When this hose arrived, I realized that it was narrower in diameter to the hose that I was previously using. While the water pressure / volume of this hose is fine for my needs, I'm glad to have gotten the 500 as I think the 400 would have been too small.
