My significant other and I were delighted to have come into some disposable cash recently that we could spend to expand our intimate toy collection. We decided that a wand massager would be the perfect addition to our repetoire of items. We had both heard very positive things about the famous brand name version of this massager, but decided that for our personal style, a cordless model would be much more versatile. Since I am an Amazon Prime member, and a big fan of their excellent customer service, I thought that ordering this off-brand version of the more famous model would be a sufficient substitute. I know the more famous maker has a cordless version of their own, but the cost was a bit prohibitive, while the Wand Essentials version seemed to offer the same features for a price comparable to the corded version of the famous brand. I also made sure to order several styles of attachments to go along with our new toy, selected the one day shipping method, and presto! We were on our way to a very Happy Valentine's Day with a gift that would satisfy both of us! WRONG! First of all, the biggest disappointment right away was that the wand does not work with the cord attached while waiting for the battery to charge. Not only that, but the instructions say to wait a full 24 hours before the first use. I know from experience that this is good advice, and using any device beforehand upon the first charge is like instant death to the cheaply made battery inside. However, it was Valentine's Day, and we were eager to try out our new toy, despite the admonition to wait. We discovered that after only a few hours of charging, the item already seemed to be operating at full power, so we tried it out, with disappointing, but not surprising results. The battery drained nearly dry after only about five minutes of use, and not only that, the power began to dwindle at a very "critical" moment in our test run. EXTREMELY frustrating and disappointing. Still, we were sure it was merely because we had been too eager, and felt confident that once we allowed the battery to charge for the full 24 hours, it would operate the way it was supposed to, and deliver the promised several hours of continuous use before needing to be recharged. WRONG AGAIN! This toy performs the same no matter how long it sits in the charging mode. It delivers the goods for approximately ten minutes or so, and fizzles down to a fraction of the power, in a very NOTICEABLE way, at very critical times. Granted, it could be as we feared, that our over-eagerness to use the device before the first full charge may have weakened the battery, but I still believe that had this been a quality product to begin with, that wouldn't really have mattered at all. This battery simply does not keep a charge under normal use, period. Even this would be tolerable, at best, if one were able to still use the device with the cord plugged into the power outlet, but unfortunately, the designers decided that this was not an important feature. So, not only does this item leave you hanging on the edge, but then you have to seek other alternatives while you wait for the cheap battery to charge again for several hours before being able to enjoy another ten minutes of almost pleasure. There are things about this wand that I like. It is lightweight and easy to handle. All of the traditional brand name attachments fit onto the head, which is removable for cleaning too, a nice feature. However, even the attachments don't serve to make this toy more enjoyable, due to the lack of punch the cheap battery and motor provide during regular use. We actually ended up having more fun using the attachments manually without even using the wand! Overall, a huge disappointment for the money spent, especially on an item that cannot be returned once it is taken out of the box. I would NOT recommend it! If you are interested in this type of device, go with the brand name, and deal with the use of a power cord. Trust me, you will be much more satisfied.
