First impression comparison to Garmin Approach S62
I have been using the Garmin S62 Approach for the past few seasons. I wanted to switch to this watch for a few key upgrades against the S62. I've only been able to use this one round so have not got to review some of the below. I will update as I use this more. First upgrade was dynamic green. This is important feature which I feel is needed to know front back location based off location. I forgot to check if this looked accurate since I never had this before. Second, tempo display during round of play. The S62 has swing tempo but not in golf mode. If you wanted to see your tempo during the round, you would have to exit golf mode (apparently you can view swing tempo during round, but I never knew how to do this. Issue users have is it doesn't save so you can view it post round). Consequently, I never used this function while playing. The T9 has this during the round, however, I have found the swing tempo to be inconsistent. It would drastically have much different tempos from time to time. I'm a 10 handicap so not incredibly good but I have used swing tempo with S62 and Blast Motion and this seems to be far more inconsistent (Blast Motion being the best). Third, green mapping. I have the Voice Caddie SL1 range finder which I also got for green mapping. On that display of the SL1, it is far too small and difficult to see (especially since I am slightly color blind). This display is far easier to see and gives you a general idea of the green map. Which I find much more useful on the watch with this display. The S62 is far easier to use for user experience. Everything is one touch away and much easier to navigate. For instance, finding front back to hazards is much more difficult as you have to touch the bunker for example, to get it to display. Which can be very difficult because it is not really that large of a screen. I have small hands (size small mens glove) and I have difficulty selecting it even when zoomed in. Battery life does not seem great. This seems to die much faster than the S62. I could take the S62 on a 3 day golf trip and not have to charge it once. I think the T9 watch may be dead after 2 days. There are other features which can make this better for some over the S62, such as pin position which can give you better accuracy to flag distances. Since I use a range finder as well, I don't care for this. Offers a little shot tracking, but does not seem to really give you any real useable data. Shot tracking using other systems is far superior (I use Arccos so this is pointless for me). The price point is lower and with some key feature upgrades I want, mainly dynamic green. I'm going to keep using this and sell my S62. I just think the user interface can be made much easier and better. If a user is looking for something much easier to use without having to swipe the watch to see different data, I think the S62 would be better.

T9 Review
It been over a little 2 years since I started playing and I still consider myself a beginner, mostly because I was there for the company of friends especially during these past few years when social get together were nonexistent. As a group we slowly began to improve, although partially inebriated. Lately, we been betting small amount to make it a bit more interesting and when money is on the line, it time to get a bit more serious. That's when I decided to look into some of the new golf technology out there, as the only thing I had was my buddy's old hand-me-down GPS device. Great little device that only gives me the distant to green but I wanted something a bit better. I wanted a 2-in-1 device. Something that can help me train and something I can use to replace the old GPS device I had. Launch monitors were out of the question since they don't come with GPS capabilities and so were laser range finder for the opposite. So I end looking at golf watches, at least I could use the fitness feature at a gym. I wanted something relatively new and wanted something sleek I could wear in a office. That when I spotted the T9 and what really got to me was the dedicated tempo mode. A big feature for me. I believe that one should work more on form and timing then just speed and power. You can always adjust your timing for more speed and more power. The dedicated tempo mode was just the perfect training tool for me it this regard. This is how I justified the purchase in my head and what made it even easier was not having a wife. After a bit of time with the watch, this was my setup for training; I had a hitting mat, a full length mirror, my phone to record myself and the T9 watch in tempo mode. Doing consistent swing mainly focusing on my form I was able to deduce my average Tempo. With that found out I set it as my target tempo. This helps me to be more consistent. It will be red when I'm too fast; yellow, if Im too slow; blue, when I'm spot on. I hoping to use it to speed up my swings when I get a bit more consistent On the course, it can be a bit overwhelming when using the T9. Coming from a device that only tells me the distance to the center of the green, it is a lot. It was like going from a flip phone to a smart phone. I can see the use of the feature, but I think that for a me in the future that will be able to take advantage of that. Although green feature really interest me. Me and my buddies do not know how to read greens we just try to putt as straight as possible. I might be able to get a leg up when I know how use it. Its a great watch. As a golf watch its is amazing. As a smart watch, its a run of the mill. I bought it for it golf feature first and everything else second. To me that more important than app integration and all that jazz. If wanted that, I would have gotten a iWatch or Android equivalent. So if you are looking for a golf watch, that's able to get you basic notification, the T9 is a great contender. tl;dr Wanted a 2-1 Golf watch to compete in drunken bets with friends and colleagues. Got the T9, and it great for what it is and hope to use more it in the future.

works great
I have used the T9 watch for about 10 18 hole rounds. Very happy with it, yardage seems good, adjusts for slope . easy to switch from hole to green and back. green break feature is nice but not perfect. Score keeping is good once you figure it out . Phone app is very good keeping track of all rounds. I have had a few gps gplf watches and this is my favorite. Nice feature is the shot tracking, It has trouble with short putts keeping track since you don't strike harded. Hole flyover is very nice on first time on course.

Doesn’t live up to hype
Doesn’t come with a good manual although has a good tutorial online but no manual online. Just kind of hard to edit things if it has wrong strokes you have to do a lot of guessing for editing. It does have cool things like the green undulation and you can do distances breaks of the green not so much just color coded. The hole is kind of small on screen as you go and on app on your phone. Where you can edit more easily is very basic although you can do google maps. I think s62 is way better. So save up for that if you can. I will say the tempo is cool and wish you could know if it can do more but no manual to help out. Good intentions though I think I will give it 1 more try before sending back.
