Affordable, Effective
No defects on product. It’s made of hard plastic. It’s inexpensive and allows for gases to escape without external agents (fruit flies/gnats) to reach the must. I use mine for home brewing mead. I will say, it’s hard to clean out, but that’s just the type of design for this airlock. This is true with this type of airlock from other vendors too. It has nothing to do with manufacturer or this specific airlock. Overall, I will purchase again because it’s an inexpensive and a quality product.

Hard to clean
I liked using a bubble lock as I could keep track of fermentation but these are really hard to clean and I'd be hesitant to reuse them.

Great for clearing your freezer of frozen fruit!
I had lots and lots of fruit in the freezer from a lazy baker in the family, so I decided to think global and act very local! I made gallons of wine and rubbed it in their faces while drunk off their blueberries and cherries. I am back to beer but I still occasionally make some wine. In my method I used a nail and put a hole in a gallon mason jar lids, then used a glue stick and lighter to make a seal with these onto the lid.

A good airlock for home brewing, and a stocking stuffer
I've always used three-piece airlocks in my home brewing, but decided to try the twin-bubble version to see if I liked it any better. I honestly don't know. This is easier to work with from the standpoint that you don't have to assemble the three separate pieces. You just fill this to the "max" line with vodka or santizer, pop on the cap, and plug it into your fermentation vessel. That's slightly easier than the three-piece models, but that's like saying one kind of door knob is easier than another to turn. I used this on a recent yeast starter and it worked well until the yeast inside it started to go a bit crazy. Then the airlock became contaminated. I found that this model is harder to clean than the three-piece variety when there is some blow-off, since you can't really disassemble this. All you can really do is run hot water and soap through it until it "looks" clean and sanitary. The three-piece models you can disassemble and clean better. These make good stocking stuffers for home brewers, as having extras on hand means you can toss one out if it breaks or gets too gunked up for your liking... and they're inexpensive.

Easy to setup and looks/functions better than most airlocks I've used.
This airlock is great, never leaks and helps me keep and eye on how my fermentation is progressing better than the traditional 'cylinder shaped' air locks. This airlock seems to bubble much more consistently and allows me to tell exactly when fermentation is slowing and eventually has stopped. One BIG advantage to this airlock is that it allows me to cold crash the carboy with the airlock on. Previously, I've had problems with the negative pressure from all the room temp air condensing in the fridge. This would suck all the star-san solution into my beer. I don't think it mattered to the flavor profile much, but this airlock has NEVER had that issue after about 10 cold crashes. Its the little things that make switching to this airlock worth it. This airlock isn't a total re-invention, but it does make some small improvements that make my life as a homebrewer a bit easier.

Great price for item
Works pretty well for someone starting to brew. Gotta do some DIY to make it fit on the bottle, but it was not a huge issue.

These Airlocks Work Great for Fermenting Vegetables
You can't beat the price and the airlocks work well for making saurkraut and fermented veggies. They are thin, so be careful when working with them. My husband filed the manufacturing edge down at the point where the airlock fits into the grommet on the lid. Perfect. I make ferments often, so these are a great replacement for airlocks that have served their usefulness.
