Confuses the Swallows
When putting these where birds nest, make sure you don`t leave ANY opening. Once the birds figured it out, they went BEHIND the strings, so make sure you install these close to the nesting site. I think they are a little expensive because you will more than likely have to buy a large pack of them. I finally had to use regular masking tape to tape across the nesting area, also making sure you don`t leave any opening more than an inch. I had to use a whole roll of tape because my carport had several areas attractive to the birds for nesting. I did this with the masking tape to all areas and it worked, they finally left.

Would perform better if at the end of the fishing lines there would be beads tied at the ends.
The lines are all waded up and not hanging as they should.

They really work, and they don't cost much
PROS: They just work, period. This year I had three pairs of swallows all competing for the corners of my front porch. (I welcome swallows anywhere around the house or barn, EXCEPT on the few square feet that is my front porch.) When I hung these suckers up, they immediately confused and frustrated the birds. After about 48 hours, they finally gave up and moved on, and they haven't been back. The swallow shields aren't at all unsightly; in fact, they're barely noticeable. CONS: When you're hanging them, removing the tape from the adhesive strips is an annoying ordeal. There's no tab to lift or anything like that, so you end up scraping around with your fingernail and could damage the adhesive strip if you're not careful. Also, I'd like it if the lines of twine were just a wee bit longer. (UPDATE: After about a week, the lines loosened up and extended about 50% further in length, giving me all the spot coverage I needed! Criticism withdrawn.) Still, those are only minor complaints, especially considering the very affordable price. At only 7 bucks per two-strip pack, this is a no-brainer. If you have a problem with swallows, I can't imagine a better product for the price.

Works great
Every year I get mud swallows trying to build by my front door. They get mud everywhere and if they complete their nest, then you have tons of bird poop on your porch. They were trying to build when I bought these. Stopped them in their tracks. They quit trying to build and gave up on my area. Worked like a charm.

Works
This is the only product I have used that has actually kept the birds from building nest on top of my speakers. I tried the spikes they still found openings to build in. I tried scented and sparkling pods and they built right on top of them. These I hung from the overhang and the string dangle down to the speakers and have kept the birds away.

It fell down within a day!
It worked while it was up there and I was so relieved. Then I saw a swarm of birds return, went out and saw the 2 slats fell to the ground! The eaves are very high and I can't always rent a ladder and buy more to place up. Please make the adhesion stickier or give advice on how to make it stay! In the end it costed me way more than seven bucks!

Great product.
The birds hate this. I used it at their entrance point. Haven’t seen them since.

Change your life!!
Unless you have experienced the frustration of swallows who have decided your house is theirs no matter what you do, you might not get it……..but this product is life changing. For the past few years they have repeatedly built their nests right over the door of my side porch. From May to September they are there. Constantly having to clean the porch of their nest materials. Poop all over the ledges and porch. Messy windows. I have repeatedly knocked down nests in the morning to have them fully rebuilt hours later. And the nests stain and are impossible to remove without scrubbing/power washing. Fake owls, whirly gigs, spikes, shiny discs. Nothing worked more than a day or two before they were back AND they all looked awful. I’d tried everything else so went looking (again) and found BirdBGone. I ordered enough to line over the door of the covered porch to try it out. I am a 66 year old woman who standing on a step ladder affixed the panels to the ceiling easily by myself using the attached adhesive. The clear panels blend in nicely to the painted ceiling and the monofilament brushes by the front of the door ledge. Up close it doesn’t stand out but if you look up you notice the line. Once you get a few feet away it blends in nicely. For the rest of the day the birds drove themselves crazy trying to fly at the ledge, encountering the fishing line, and flying off. Could it truly be this easy after all these years? They gave up on the door and stayed on the adjacent window. I immediately ordered enough to do it as well. Next day I had it covered and one month later not a single bird has settled (or pooped) on the porch! All remnants of the nests have been scrubbed away and it has remained that away. FYI we live in the Midwest where we have had several weeks recently of 100° temperatures. The panels are just as securely attached as the day they were installed. I will never be without this product!

They work!
My neighbours and I share a breezeway, and we had barn swallows relentlessly trying to build their nests in it. Boy, these birds are dirty - leaving droppings and mud everywhere. They can also be aggressive, dive-bombing people near their nests. We tried everything and finally these worked! We managed to enjoy the last couple months of nice weather in peace. We stuck them to the ceiling near the brick wall. The birds stay away now. If you have barn swallow problems, don't think twice, just get these.

Fantastic product
This product is almost invisible when installed. It completely deterred cliff swallow from nesting under our roof peaks. Yes the swallows are lovely but they make huge mud nests and are very dirty. Best they nest in actual cliffs. This product worked perfectly.
