Stable, design flaw causes discomfort, NOT for injuries on thumb side of wrist
It's been less than 24 hours since receiving this A2 brace and I can't get it adjusted to fit comfortably. The biggest issue is with the thick, hard plastic rectangle ring through which the velcro band feeds below the thumb. I've included images from this listing's own photos to illustrate. The closeup with my red arrow shows the brace in a position that is unachievable unless you order a size that is too small. The second photo is a better representation of where the brace will actually sit. The aforementioned plastic ring sits where the red arrow is pointing. You can see this in the second photo where it is circled. The plastic digs into the skin if the brace is snug enough to prevent the wrist from moving, which means there is some play if you need to loosen the strap to relieve the discomfort. Since the hard ring rests at a point where the thumb still has movement, moving your thumb will aggravate the discomfort already felt by having the plastic putting pressure on your skin. I am not drawing the straps overly tight, only to the point where movement is restricted. Note that the plastic ring closest to the elbow is situated over the stiff black fabric of the brace which prevents it from pushing against the skin. The other ring should also have been placed over the black fabric, not over the thin stretchy material of the inner sleeve. After a short time, the discomfort can turn to pain if you have to use your hand. I've had braces for different body parts and almost all of them came with hook and loop closures. What I've noticed is that the ability to cling diminishes over time, especially at the end edge. You'll see the strap that goes around the thumb in the second photo is cut at an angle, laying nicely against the loop fabric. This strap comes longer than shown and can be trimmed to customize the fit. There is a second, thinner strip of the velcro loop fabric running parallel to the thick strip, beyond the reach of the velcro hook strap that is used to secure the brace around the thumb. It would be nice if this velcro strap was longer to accommodate different hand sizes so that it would reach the second strip of velcro loop, making the strap more durable. Face it, lint and other things are going to get embedded in the hook and loop closures eventually and they won't hold as effectively. If you cut the strap off to fit when you wear it the first time, you won't have any backup when the velcro doesn't hold as well. If the strap was longer and could reach the second strip of velcro loop fabric, there would still be velcro in relatively good condition to attach firmly to the first strip of velcro loop should you need to cut the end off after it stops holding well enough. I like the length of this brace. I considered getting a longer one because in the past, the metal bar dug into the tender part of my arm below my wrist where the brace ended, even with padding. This brace is a little longer so the edge of the metal bar sits further down my arm and is not as likely to dig in where it hurts. That there is a second bar on top makes this much more stable than those with only one bar. Since movement of the hand is restricted in both directions, the bar on the underside of the arm is less likely to dig into the tender spots. Maybe I'm just delicate, like a flower, but I can't get the brace to fit comfortably. I tried to lower it on my arm so the hard ring wasn't putting more pressure on my wrist bone when I move my thumb, but the bend in the bottom bar was in the wrong place. If you have an injury on the thumb side of your wrist where the edges of the brace meet when you put it on, I recommend you find a different brace. If it's already uncomfortable because of the unfortunate placement of the plastic ring, you're really going to be hurting with this brace.

Better than the one from PT
Broke my wrist and had surgery that went well. Doc sent me to a PT who made 2 custom molded splints that caused more pain than the injury. Pressure points kept me from sleeping and made me feel worse. Another PT tried again, but I concluded these hard splints we're bad for me. 4 weeks after surgery I finally found this one. Hoping now my recovery will go better.

EDIT: While the rest of this splint was incredibly great, the metal splint on the palmar-side broke through the material in 2.5 weeks (17 days), which appears to be a problem other reviewers cite. In addition, this issue led to a lot of wrist pain for me because it was not staying in place, effectively undercutting the other awesome qualities of the brace that I mention in the review below. But it was great until that happened! (????????) I have a rare condition that means I've worn a LOT of braces by a ton of brands on most every part of my body at one time or another. I injured my right wrist years ago, which meant I wore a brace on it for years, before having surgery that fixed the problem. Now I'm having the same thing on my other side. I mention all this bc I want you to understand that I know what it is that I'm talking about when I tell you that this is my favorite wrist brace I've ever used. It's comfortable, stable, easy to put on and adjust with one hand, and is thankfully not reliant on anything stretchy like certain fabrics or basically anything elastic. See, when you wear a brace for awhile, anything elastic or with any measure of stretch eventually stretches/wears out. This means that the brace stops doing its job and becomes less and less effective at doing what it's supposed to do. I also would like to mention that thus far, it hasn't become totally swear-soaked when I wear it all day, nor has it been so waterproof or non-absorbent that it leads to discomfort or itchiness. I can take it off after wearing it for eight hours and not be uncomfortable putting it back on again, the way that I can be uncomfortable putting braces that are lined with fabrics like Terry cloth or cotton back on (because they end up cold, clammy, and still wet even hours later sometimes). Overall, I'm just very pleased with it, and it's holding up remarkably well!!!

Working better for injury than carpal tunnel splints
I didn’t expect much from this splint after reading a lot of the negative reviews. I decided to give it a chance after buying a couple of other splints in the two days before I got this one and not getting much relief from them or a zillion carpal tunnel splints I have. This is the only one really helping with the pain because it completely immobilizes my wrist as well as my hand (while leaving my fingers and thumb free to move). The pain subsides so much with this on that I don’t even have pain immediately upon removing it-takes about 15 minutes before the pain comes back and starts to bother me enough to put it back on. I can’t say that I got much relief from the other splints and they all bothered the back of my hand, which was also injured when I fell and hurt my wrist. It was so inexpensive that even the couple of days of relief I have gotten so far make this worth every penny.

Je mets 4 étoiles car j'ai reçu la mauvaise à 2 reprises. Une que j'ai retourné et l'autre que j'ai finalement gardée vu le besoin immédiat. J'ai commandé maintenant droite SANS pouce et j'ai reçu avec les 2 fois. ???? surveillez vos commandes ! Mis à part ce problème l'article est conforme à la description,confortable, ajustable à 3 endroits. Et esthétiquement parlant il est beau!

I'd buy it again
I used it for support following surgery for a fractured wrist. The brace was pretty good. I even threw it in the washing machine several times and it held up well

Great support, poor quality
Great support and comfortable however as with other reviews after two weeks the metal support bar tore through the fabric and was digging into my hand. Again, as for support and overall use it was great just too bad the quality isn't there
