Good for older dogs with mobility problems.

Bought this to go with the Trixie bike trailer (which I'd give 5/5) – we use it for our elderly staffie Maddie who can only manage short walks (30 mins max). The idea is that she can hop in and out of her 'pram' and join us on longer walks again. It's OK to assemble – I managed it on my own with no help from Him Indoors – and is easy to push etc. The assembly instructions aren't great and it *does* take a bit of breaking in for the wheel to move smoothly (thus 4/5 rather than 5/5) but once it's settled, it works nicely and is very quick and easy to assemble and take to bits. It also folds down well and fits in a small car boot. Maddie is still getting used to riding in it at the moment – she's a bit nervous so it takes time to train her to new things – but on the short trips we're currently taking, she seem happy. I can't comment on 'off road' performance yet, but it goes will on pavements and cobbles. The set up is sturdy, well made and suitable for the tricky-to-suit medium-sized, heavier breeds. She's got loads of room in the cabin (with the Medium sized buggy) – and like popping her head out of the top window and 'periscoping' around! I also like that the cabin has both mesh and plastic panels, so you can keep the rain out if your dog is a big baby (ours is – hates weather of any kind that isn't sun). All in all, it's excellent value and both Maddie-the-staffie and I would recommend it. I haven't got any 'action' photos yet, but here she is getting used to it as an indoor bed before we started going outside... gives you an idea of how big the 'cabin' bit is. Tip: if you get one, also get some vet bed and cut to shape. It comes with a mattress type thing, but it's a bit slippery and I suspect won't wash well. If you put vet bed on top, then it's grippier for the dog so they don't slide about, cosier (works nicely as a bed-on-the-go), and you can wash it easily.

Well made dog stroller, great for old dog to come out on the longer pack walks again :-)

Had a little trouble putting the bar in that held the two sides apart, even hubby found it a struggle, but guess the canvas was more taut as new, with usage will become easier? Adding the conversion kit was easy. Old Lurcher loves his stroller, he can ride down the long lane to the beach, conserving his energy for paddling and playing with his beloved tennis ball, at 15 1/2 years he is in reasonable health but tires quickly, so this saves me carrying him on the way back! Even tried my big pup in it just for fun, but he looked bemused! Not used this as a trailer as don't have a bike!

Great trailer/stroller for your furry friend!

Really pleased with this - we bought with the buggy conversion to help take our young puppy on walks and then subsequently take him with the family cycling. It folds flat and breaks down to manageable pieces when not in use and quickly erects for walks/cycling out and about. You’ll need a moderate size car boot to accommodate it, but it’s as compact as you could reasonably expect. Fabric is of a good quality and our dog loves sitting in it even when we are at home! Pushes easily, rows easily. Loses one star as the conversion from buggy to bike trailer requires a spanner to remove the brake mechanism - would have been nice to be quick release. One unexpected benefit is that we can use this to carry gear if heading on a picnic, then puppy can ride home if he’s tired on the way back (and bags are lighter!). Glad I didn’t pay more for one - this does it all!

Conversion kit for stroller

This item was necessary to convert the trailer to a stroller. The first item received had a brake missing and there was some delay in getting a replacement. Whilst the main trailer is sturdy and absolutely perfect the design of the conversion kit could be much better. The handle bars attachment was perfect and had and easy quick release. The brake was not that good as it kept coming loose and sticking on when you were pushing the pram. We had to carry a screwdriver with us, but you have to remove one wheel to get to the brake screws. The front wheel attachment was difficult to fit, and was not quite the right fitting for the trailer points, so we struggled and jigged it around each time we had to put it on, but once on it was perfectly secure. As we were only using the trailler as a stroller It would have suited us to leave the front wheel fitting on and only remove the front wheel so a quick release front wheel would have been better. Also, we bought this version for the swivel front wheel but it kept getting stuck and was difficult to turn if the screw was tight so we used it with a loosened screw but had to carry an Alan key to keep securing it and you have to watch it did not come out completely. So in all, the trailer was perfect, the conversion kit a necessity and although we found this invaluable on holiday in the hot summer, there could be some improvements to the conversion kit. All in all however, it is still the best combination we could find on the market at the time of our purchase and allowed us to keep our elderly dog who is unable to walk far with us. Would still recommend in the absence of any other product that does not deal with the issues above.

Major parts missing

Arrived on time, but unfortunately with all connection parts, nuts and bolts and the brake missing, hence totally useless. I needed it for a holiday that I was going on with my elderly dog, and unfortunately a replacement wouldn’t arrive until the last day of my break. I’ve returned home now and see that I don’t have the option of getting a replacement, only to return the product and purchase again at twice the price. Very disappointing for a German product and company. I expected more. The parts I received seem to be good quality, and I’m sure it would work well if only it was all here.
