CAUTION! Handle Change. No Dishwasher.
***** QUALITY This chopper should last for years if used as intended. I purchased the plain edge chopper. I already have a serrated version of this this chopper that is over 40 years old and it is still being used. The handle of both are attached to the chopping ring with rivets. See photo. ***** RELIABLE BUSCUIT CUTTER I checked a bunch of biscuit cutters with a handle on Amazon. The handle is spot welded to the ring on most biscuit cutters I checked and many reviewers complained of the handle detaching under normal use and/or during shipping due to a weak spot weld. If enough people have the same complaint then it is most likely the case. This Kwik-Kut plain edge chopper has the handle attached to the ring with rivets so it will not detach. The ring is 2-7/8 inches. If this is not a suitable size for your biscuits then you may need to use something else. And... if used as a chopper the plain edge will also be reliable. ***** HANDLE IS NOW ALUMINUM Thanks to another reviewer I was made aware the handle now is made of aluminum. The chopping ring is still stainless steel. I confirmed this on Kwik-Kut's website. The handle has a good polished finish so I would have assumed it is stainless steel. The older choppers have a stainless steel handle such as my 40+ year old serrated version which has seen a “zillion” dish washer cycles. See photos. The aluminum handle is not a show stopper for me. JUST BE AWARE TO AVOID DISCOLORATION, ETC. THIS CHOPPER SHOULD NOT BE RUN IN THE DISHWASHER. The product description on the Amazon page says to hand wash. The product description on Amazon and the retail package does not mention the aluminum handle. The retail package does not say to hand wash. See photo. For more info just google washing aluminum kitchen stuff in the dishwasher. ***** DINGING ONE STAR I respect Kwik-Cut as being a long time small American manufacturer, but they will loose star due to the handle. They should emphasize to the consumer to avoid the dishwasher. Some reviewers found out too late. Would I purchase again if necessary? Yes I would.

a very neat invention
My mother gave me one of these years ago. I have used it so much it was starting to bend so I decided to see if I could find another one. I did and I will keep on chopping. They are so handy, don't take up much room, and works great!

This is sharp. Don't "mess around."
I use this specifically for egg salad, tuna salad,, chicken salad, nuts, etc. We grew up with one in the house. My mother had one until she had to go into an assisted living residence. She was 96. This is a keeper. Each of us has one as part of our kitchen "gadget" collection.

Best hand chopper ever
There is so much I use these choppers for. I have both serrated edge one & smooth sharp one. First, after use they r so easy to clean, love that part. I use the serrated edge to chop cabbage for slaw, use it to chop my nuts so easy and does a really great job, just chop til u get size u want, use is when making salsa to chop my tomatoes, use the smoothie sharp one to blend shortening into flour for biscuits & then use it for cutting my biscuits. Use it to chop my onions, so many more uses I cannot think of now. I just bought the one with longer taller handle for chopping broccoli in my soup & also potato soup, so many uses. I cannot guess how old my small chopper is, I know I have had it forever & is still very sharp, another +, it is stainless steel so doesn’t rust. A very good purchase.

MULTI USE KITCHEN TOOL!!!
This is listed as a “Plain Edge Manual Food Chopper”. I use it as a biscuit cutter, a pierogi cutter, cook eggs in a circle…this can be used so many ways, i recommend it to all! With eggs i spray PAM all around inside. It is excellent!!!

Great for chopping hard boiled eggs
I've used this type of chopper for as long as I can remember. It finally went so I replaced it. Hopefully this one will last equally as long. It's great for chopping soft things like hard boiled eggs to make egg salad.
