Excellent Juicer
As a first time juicer, I scoured the internet to find the perfect cold press juicer in my budget. I heard Tribest makes some of the best juicers on the market but $500 was out of my range so, i was thrilled to find a smaller, less expensive one under the same brand. I don't write reviews often. This juicer kicks ass. It's quiet, easy to assemble and clean, it's like bringing home a sweet little robotic dog to the family. It produces AMAZING tasting juices. Yes, you have to cut up the fruits and veggies to fit into the small feeding chamber but that doesn't bother me one bit. While I'm processing my produce, I'm feeding the juicer in the meantime. Celery, carrots, cucumbers, apples, oranges, kale, I've had no issues thus far. It feels like a well made product. Throughly pleased. Happy juicing!!

Great Juice and more
We have a citrus juicer, we have a centrifugal juicer, and now we have a masticating juicer. All three serve there purposes well. We use the Tribest Solostar 4 juicer to juice spinach, micro greens, and other leafy greens. The amount of juice extracted from these leafy greens is amazing, the centrifugal juicer can’t touch this. In addition, we make coconut cream with it (we live in Hawaii and gather coconuts we find). Oh yeah, Shrimp Curry made with FRESH coconut cream is the best (YUM). The Tribest Solostar 4 is relatively quiet and has a small foot print. Finding a home on the kitchen counter for daily use was easy. The juice pictured with this review is spinach, celery, and carrot. Cleaning the Tribest Solostar 4 isn't difficult but you must include it in your juicing time, you don't want to let the fiber dry out on and in the screen cone. Just plan on cleaning it right away, about five minutes or so. It helps juicing carrots after the leafy greens to get the fiber pushed through and it adds great taste to you juice. Cleaning takes a bit longer after running coconut through the machine. Just add cleaning the juicer into your timeline and you are good to go. We've been using this juicer for about a month now and haven't had any jamming or other issues with it. We are happy with our choice, which John Kohler of Discount Juicers helped us make through his YouTube juicer comparison videos. Sorry we couldn't support John through purchasing the Tribest Solostar 4 from Discount Juicers but, again, we live in Hawaii and Discount Juicers free shipping only covered the mainland’s 48 states. If you are looking for a juicer and aren't sure which type of juicer or which brand/model of juicer to purchase, check out John Kohler's YouTube videos, he's been doing this for many years. A word of caution however, John can be a bit overwhelming, just deal with it, his enthusiasm is genuine and the information he provides is extremely helpful. UPDATE: It's been six months since I wrote this review and we are having NO issues with this juicer. I would certainly purchase this juicer again. ~Lona

Another Cheesy Juicer
The media could not be loaded. 2ND UPDATE: Had my first cup of juice made with my new Angel juicer. What a difference from the SoloStar. A single plastic auger cannot compete with dual stainless steel gears. The moment you pick up one of those heavy, highly engineered Angel stainless steel gears you realize the SoloStar is a toy, NOT a juicer. UPDATE: I acquired an Angel juicer in an auction on a competing website. Bit the bullet and paid $860 for a used $1700 juicer in excellent condition. No more cheesy juicers for me !!! PS: I uploaded a video of the SoloStar. Listen to that noise. Does that sound like a solid, dependable machine to you? ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a SLIGHT upgrade from the Ninja juicer. PROS: Low RPM is good for juicing leafy greens. Doesn't leak all over the place like the Ninja. Includes a toothbrush for cleaning screen. Tamper was thoughtfully designed with flat spot to prevent rolling when placed on your cutting board. More realistically sized catch cup and rind cup than Ninja. Includes a screen that fits perfectly on catch cup to screen juice while you're juicing. Includes an additional smaller strainer with handle. Has multiple end caps, presumably for making pasta (I never tried). CONS: Main housing is plastic. Housing lock is not iron-tight so housing can wiggle back and forth while you're juicing. Lack of solidity undermines confidence in longevity. Auger is plastic rather than metal. Juicing screen is a PITA to clean. Mesh of strainers is course and lets a degree of pulp through (I used my own instead). MOTOR IS NOT DESIGNED TO JUICE FOR MORE THAN 30 MINUTES!!! Consider that last one and remember: it's a SLOW juicer. You could EASILY go past 30 min without thinking. Especially, if your intent is to juice more than ONE measly cup of juice. This juicer has forced me to seriously inquire into the Angel juicer, which I absolutely didn't want to do considering their outrageous prices. However, experience has revealed most of the juicers being sold today are designed to benefit the seller NOT the customer. I have been juicing since 1978. I own a Champion and have used a Norwalk, which made the best juice I EVER drank. Problem is, it takes all day just to make one cup of juice. But if you want the VERY BEST juice, bar none, the Norwalk or the Pure juicer is the only way to go. Realistically, those juicers are only apropos if you're retired and have plenty of time on your hands. Or you're filthy rich and can have your butler or cook make it for you. I bought a Ninja to check out slow juicing. It was VERY cheaply made so I had to send it back. The SoloStar is a little bit better than the Ninja but not by much. I'm frankly disappointed. The housing on my Champion is plastic. Yet, it doesn't wobble back and forth. It feels solid. You don't have to worry that you might break it. Problem is, the RPM of the blade causes the juice to deteriorate very quickly. And you'll get very little juice from leafy greens with a high RPM juicer. If you SPECIFICALLY want to juice greens, a SLOW JUICER is the ONLY way to go. I'm now of the firm opinion that a single auger machine is inefficient compared to the dual gear designs. Although I haven't tested that theory yet. After experiencing the SoloStar, I would seriously consider purchasing a GreenStar Pro. However, we again run into the same problem - the main housing made of plastic. Apparently, the only company selling a metallic housing for juicing is Angel. Shame on the other manufacturers for not competing. I recommend if you sincerely want to take advantage of slow juicing to improve your health, avoid this juicer. At least move up to the GreenStar Pro (not the Elite).

Works great.
The media could not be loaded. No complaints. Makes fun sounds inside the juicing parts, but not problematic to the function. Isn’t loud. Easy to clean up. Use the end of the brush to clean screen. Would recommend to friend.

Best juicer a I own.
The Solostar is my sixth juicer, and by far the best. The juice is extremely pure with basically no pulp, and it extracts more juice than my other juicers do. Cleanup is easy and quick, the screen takes just a bit more to clean than some of my other juicers but no big deal. My only complaint is the size of the feed tube. It's small and you have to chop apples and large carrots down quite a bit to fit. But to get this high a quality of juice it's totally worth it. Wish I would of bought this juicer years ago!

Very impressed
Very quiet and powerful. So far, I have used it to juice 50 lbs of beets and carrots in one afternoon. Found that if i used my food processor to shred the beets and carrots first -actually made the job faster, more efficient, even quieter, and easier on the machine. Did not heat up at all. The whole process, even with the extra step went very quickly and efficiently. Foaming was a bit of an issue but i just put the foam back into the shredded beets bowl where it broke down. Very easy to dismantle and clean. Warm water and soap cleaned the juice stains , so looks new still The pulp was very dry compared to my previous centrifuge type juicer. Well worth the expense. Highly recommend for people who juice in large quantities and freeze.

Celery, carrots a breeze... highly recommended
I’ve been using this juicer for about two months, almost daily. It works great for celery, does not require the stalk to be cut into small pieces. Easily processes an entire stalk. Apples, carrots just need to be thin enough to fit through, otherwise it processes them well. Leafy greens are not the best. However, it does get some juice out of spinach and kale. Easy to put together and take apart. Cleaning is easy and quick other than the screen, takes a few minutes. Important to rinse immediately after using so food doesn’t stick to the screen. Fairly quiet. I researched several brands for weeks before I purchased this one. So far, I’m very happy with it.
