No instructions
Did not cut the excess wires and came with no instructions.

Get's the job done!
I had an issue with one of my ethernet wall jacks in my home. A couple of the wires were not sitting correctly. I tried to push the wires in but realized I needed a punch down tool. I looked at several brands ranging from $12 to $75. The TRENDnet Punch Down Tool was listed as a top pick on several websites. And the customer ratings were very positive. This tool is very easy to use. I have a CAT 5 cable which I set the tool to LOW. Wires went in with no issue and the excess wire was snipped off very easily. I am very happy with my purchase, only $15.99.

Impressed right out of the box. If you are a DIYer or even a Pro, this thing is nice.
I usually don't write reviews without using the product, but I'm going to in this case. I'll update later too. But I wanted to put down my initial impression of this after opening the package. I'm IMPRESSED. It looks like it would be cheap and hollow feeling, but it is nothing like that. It feels substantial in your hands. I'd say even more solid than a 90s Nokia candy bar phone. All the seams like up perfectly and the molding is very clean. It has a mechanism to hold the extra KRONE blade in the bottom and caps to keep them clean. I would say this is the ONE to buy at this price range.

Punchdown for keystones
Great value for its purpose. Used this exact punchdown in an industrial setting. the adjustable pressure setting works well for clipping the excess wire. Be sure to use it correctly or you will cut the wire off on the wrong side. Great for the money. My local supplier wanted 80 dollars for a tool to do the same function.

Great tool
It worked perfectly for what it’s designed for. Very good tool for the price. Others are a lot more expensive. It worked great for my project.

Works great
both of these tools work great. I have made a lot of ethernet cables and did numerous keystone jacks. no issues.

Does the job
The trimming feature is a little temperamental, but for all I know, the expensive options do the same. It could be user error on my part too. I just keep a pair of flush trimmers handy to snip the ends after punch down. I'd say my success with the wire trim feature is around 50%.

Nice less expensive version of the Fluke punch down tool
I normally use a Harris (now Fluke) D-814 that I've had and enjoyed for over 2 decades, so my review is based on experience with the higher end tool. I sometimes need a second punch down tool or don't have the Harris/Fluke with me, so I thought I'd try the TRENDnet. Side by side with the Harris/Fluke, it is obvious that TRENDnet copied the Fluke time-tested design very closely. The plastic is lighter and has a less substantial feel to it. The knobs/wheels are hollow instead of solid. The springs for the impact adjustment and blade storage are not as tight as the Harris/Fluke tool. The body of the tool is slightly larger and more squared off at the edges so may not be quite as comfortable if using it for an extended period. Despite these differences which I'm sure is how the lower price point is achieved, the tool is solid and works well. If I did not have the Harris/Fluke to compare it to, I'm sure I'd be thrilled with this unit and I probably would have given it 5 stars. The blades interchange perfectly with the Fluke blades and tool. The 110 blade has a slightly different profile than the Fluke blades that I have, but it works well regardless. The cutting blade is thicker towards the tip and thinner away from it, so it may not last as long. When all is said and done, I think this is a great punch down tool for the price. If I was looking for a primary tool to be used every day in a professional environment, I'd lean towards the Fluke. I don't know if this will last 20+ years like my Harris/Fluke, but for less frequent use or if you expect to lose it, loan it and never get it back, etc. I'd say this can't be beat for about 1/3 of the price of the Fluke. I don't know how to caption the photos, so I will describe them here: Th first photo is the TRENDnet tool and blades. The 110 blade is installed, and the Krone blade is in front. Also shown are the blade covers, which are a nice touch. The photo of the three blades shows a Fluke 110 blade in the foreground, the TRENDnet 110 blade in the middle, and a Fluke Eversharp blade (silver) towards the back. The photo of the two blades has a Fluke 110 on the left and the TRENDnet 110 on the right. They are nose-to-nose so you can see the difference in profiles. In the group of photos showing two tools, the TRENDnet is on the top or right, and my old Harris (now Fluke) D-814 is the yellow and blue tool on the bottom/left.

Great quality punch tool
I've own a few punch tools over the years that have done a job for me. I didn't realise how poor they were until I bought this, it's on another level. It's so much easier to wire faceplates etc. with this punch tool.

Easy once you get the hang of it
Was a little cumbersome initially but once mastered these are great. I initially had a cheaper one which was useless and wouldn’t punch down well at all and in fact broke in the 3rd attempt. This was worth lying the extra as no problems

Seems fairly foolproof
I've not used a tool of this type before, so have nothing to compare it with. However it does seem to do a decent job. Of the 66 individual connections I needed to make (8 network sockets and a phone socket) all worked first time. Cutting of the excess wire isn't 100% reliable (seems better with solid core than stranded), but works most of the time (certainly often enough to be a time saving over having to snip every wire with scissors). The only reason I'm dropping a star is the complete lack of instructions. Basic usage is obvious enough, but I've no clue what the different impact settings are for.

Punches wires but otherwise poor
This is a poor product. It punches the wires in but that is about it. The “wire cutter” doesn’t cut, the spare blade falls out of its holder and there are no wire tools. I saved £20 buying what I thought was a decent tool but should have bought the Krone. Yes, expensive but Krone is the best for a reason
