it works well so far
I do not like the way that you tighten the chuck at all. it seems like it would easily fail. however I drove a 1/2" masonry bit through 6" of concrete in under 5 minutes and it never hesitated

Best for the Price
Just to let you know: A few years back I purchased a 20v Drill from Black and Decker and was amazingly surprised that it worked so well. Especially since it was priced much lower than other brands. This new hammer drill that I recently purchased is actually one of the best investments I have ever made; and; for the price, if you need one you are nuts for not buying this. I have had a large outdoor umbrella on a stand that I previously had bricks stacked on all four legs to keep it from falling over. Within an hour, I drilled 8 holes into cement and screwed them down with 2 1/2 screws. It is now very sturdy and is permanetly connected to the cement slab. (which can be removed if I decide to move it somewhere else. If you have any doubts about Black and Decker drills, forget them. These are fine products well deserving of a 5 rating.

Not for heavy duty work
This is something for light duty only. The best thing about this drill is the price. The worst one definitely the mandrin/drill bit chuck. Too often the drill bit will get loose while drilling, then you will have to re-tighten the chuck while holding down the button at the bottom. Also, the handle/measuring stick is useless. It will come off then come into contact with the rotating drill chuck and melt. Solution: just remove it.

Black Decker does it again!
Can't beat the price for this drill ! It's good enough to get some works done around the house and some. It's easy to set up and use. It's not too heavy. I was able to install the front porch rail stair without struggle. I am glad to buy Black Decker hammer drill. Would recommend to others, if someone needs to drill on the concrete.

Twist the KEY CHUCK!
So I ordered this and end up donating the item because I thought it didn’t have a key chuck. Just so happened that I was donating a box of items to a local church. I know nothing about drills and I thought this did not have a key chuck. I went back to the church to donate more items and 1 of the workers told me that I had to twist the part where the chuck is suppose to be for it to come up. So for all those guys who are complaining about the key chuck... it’s there. You have to twist that part that it attaches to so that it can come up. I feel so dumb. And really upset with myself because I end up buying another drill that I really don’t prefer. Same thing with this drill. I had to twist it so the chuck could come up. The church sold it for 5 dollars and then the purchaser said it was nothing wrong with the key chuck. He then explained to the lady who works in the church how it has to be twisted to come out. Smh... So mad at myself.

Drill it real good
Are you lacking power? Do you need that extra umph to push through to the other side? Are you constantly tired of needing to go deeper but only being able to push so far? Well this drill will help you hammer all the way home. It’s so good I think I burst a pipe as the area was flooding. So if you need to go deep, with vigor this is the drill for you.

Works with some cautions
Hammerdrills fine into concrete with the smaller bits I used so far. The handle collar is difficult to correctly position and tighten. It slipped forward unnoticed and got chewed up badly. A far better tightening system would be a twist handle which is common to similar drills I've used in the past.

Great for occasional at-home use
This is a good deal if you occasionally need a hammer drill (like to mount things in your apartment with concrete walls). It doesn't come with a case which isn't the end of the world. It does the trick. The construction seems a little iffy but I've had no issues. However if I had my old manufacturing job, I would not get this. I would invest in something for everyday use (like a Dewalt).

Works well but mind the side handle
Drilling into concrete the side handle slipped off and partially melted the plastic chuck covering. It has a friction tightener so I cleaned it up and used pliers to tighten it up. Drilled sixteen 3/8" diameter holes 5" deep with no problem.

Lemon received
My husband was excited to have a hammer drill and stop borrowing the neighbours. 10 minutes and 2 holes in the the motor burnt out. Smoke came from the air vents... and now the trigger is constantly on. I think we just got a lemon based on other reviews. Haven’t tried returning it yet... will update

No star doesn’t work
This wasn’t packaged well, it was just the drill in the box. When I received it and plugged it in it didn’t work
