The proper valve for a Toto toilet

I've bought "universal" valves for more money from the hardware store, but this Toto is far better. The instructions are clear, so you can adjust it to work with each specific model of toilet tank. I'm not a do-it-yourself person, but installation was easy - took 5-10 minutes. It is QUIET and works well. The big difference I can hear compared to the universal valves is the noise when the tank fills - this one is quiet.

Perfect part, good instructions, easy to install, and fair price.

Perfect part that came quickly and safely. Good instructions and easy to install...only needed a bucket to drain water from tank...everything else was hand loosen and tighten. Note well, you can find your toilet model for Toto on the inside of the tank. In my toilet the number had faded but I could read it. You need that number to set both the height of the fill valve and also the fill valve outlet throttle valve. I called Toto and they were helpful (tech. dept.) and suggested this part from Amazon which is made by Toto in the U.S. Made the replacement and it works perfect. Thanks to Amazon for carrying this and making it a Prime item.

OEM product that works great! I ordered a 2 pack and received a single. They are a 3rd party so I had to go thru the process. No messages or a direct phone call was returned. You can't go wrong with this product just buy it elsewhere.

cryptic instructions but works well

Having installed dozens of these over the years and being an engineer, it's usually a pretty intuitive exercise. That said, every brand is slightly different to install. The instructions for this one are generally pretty poor in two specific areas: (1) the flow adjustment using the plastic wheel gauge took a few minutes to figure out (you need to look at the edge revel on the flow valve to see where to hold the gauge tool); and, (2) the 'tamper proof' key doesn't 'insert' up against the tube as described or shown. (it just doesn't fit as far up under the sleeving as is shown, and it doesn't snap or lock onto the nibs like it's supposed to. i had to secure mine with a rubber band around the tube.) both of these issues could be solved and the install procedures simplified with better design, but again, that's an engineer speaking.

You may need to purge air from the valve after first fill

My newly installed TSU99A.X leaked out if the filter tube after flushing. Issue for me was air trapped in the filler valve apparently. With the tank filled if I unlocked the valve by rotating it to adjust height the valve would try to extend to full height and felt "springy" if compressed it. (Reminded me of behavior of a springy handle on a hydraulic jack that had some air trapped in the cylinder.) Solution: 1) With the tank full, of water I lowered the valve to the shortest position locked it, 2) flushed the toilet waited for refill, 3) adjusted the valve back to the desired height. The spingyness was gone and my leak went away for me after doing that I surmise that I purged the air trapped in the valve by lowering the valve height to the bottom. Instructions should add troubleshooting steps, since others seem to have similar issues after install. I initially installed with the valve to extended to half the height, but if you install without extending the valve you might not be vulnerable to the problem I speculate about. YMMV. Good luck.

Flushes the competition

The media could not be loaded. There is a white clip included apparently called a "tamper proof" device. The instructions and diagrams surrounding this mysterious clip are quite poor. Additionally, while we thought we jammed it in there in the right place, it seems to have now slipped out, but we don't expect any "tampering" so i'm leaving it for now.

Perfect for repair my TOTO toilet

WOW, like I have a new toilet. This fill value is a perfect replace for my TOTO toilet. I have never fixed any toilet before but this was so easy to install. Removed my old one and install this one in less than an hour.

Clear instructions. Allows you to setup the replacement flush valve to the millimeter. High quality. Almost a key reason to buy a Toto. This was a pain when I had to replace my American Standard valve.

TOTO product for my TOTO toilet

Love my TOTO toilet and when it started making a hissing sound like running water and then a drip drip after a flush I knew the flow valve needed changing. Order it and arrived asap with my Prime membership and easy to install and I now have a quiet TOTO once again. So happy that Amazon had the part I needed.

Very easy to install with easy to follow instructions. Took about 30 mins to complete and I'm I very satisfied with the results!
