Great for Pitched Ceilings
I have a steep angle on my bedroom ceiling. One lighting consultant I spoke with suggested a biscuit cut can solution... lots of nonsense. The tilt on these light allowed me to direct the light from my ceiling downward. Reliability-wise, I purchased this light several years ago and they are still going strong. The failure rate of LED recessed lighting has been high for me (1 out of 9). The warm color temperature was also idea for my bedroom. These lights have done very well with dimming without tinkering with my Lutron diva LED dimmers... definitely not the case with my other LED recessed lights.

Check the diameter of your stock trim ring if replacing incandescent eyeball trim
Since this is a retrofit kit, I would have expected it to be at least close to the same diameter as an incandescent eyeball trim ring, but it is about 3/4" smaller than a standard Halo 74P eyeball. This is fine for new or nearly new construction but on a 30 year old popcorn ceiling with dirt stains under the original trim ring from air leaks, it is less than ideal. For what its worth, all of the other brands of retrofits (including the Halo kit that is nearly twice the price) have the same problem of being smaller than an incandescent eyeball. I never thought to check because I assumed it was somewhat standard (my mistake). If you have the same problem and can't or don't want to paint your ceiling, search for what is called a "6" goof ring". It gets sandwiched between the LED retrofit and the ceiling to cover up an oversize hole or dirt stains, they're $10 for a pack of 5.

After several weeks of review we decided on these retrofit lights. I wanted to have the ability to tilt and rotate but was concerned about them only being 10 watts as my other option was 19 watts but stationary. My concern was not founded as the 10 watts are plentiful, we took the recommendations of purchasing a dimmer switch (lutron caseta wireless switch - P-PKG1W-WH - note no flickering) as they are bright. Installed in a 70's eyeball 6 inch housing, removed eyeball cans and as the spring bracket was already in the 6 inch position I didn't have to adjust the width. Everything worked as described for installation and only issue was they were not quite flush to the ceiling (1/8 inch in some places) but I think it is mainly due to the texture of the ceiling, I will go back and scrape down the high spots. Once the dimmer switch was installed I was very pleased with our purchase. We will be purchasing more to expand our living room ceiling lighting.

Great product
OK. So there were a couple of issues getting shipped the correct light. However the company totally made it right. It really is a great solution. In my case, a pot light was put in the wrong place to light up my artwork. This refit allowed me to shine light in that direction. Get the 2700K model unless you like that really cold lighting. Even when dimmed the 5000K is fairly cold. It throws a wide area of light, which in my application is perfect. It now lights up my art and the front entry. I would like to see a product that had some adjustable screens on the sides to tighten up the lighting. I would buy a bunch of these to light art in other parts of my house if they existed.

These lights are great for installing on sloped ceilings. They easily replace existing 5-6 inch can lights. They are priced well. And they use only 10 watt instead of the 65 watts I was using! Be aware this light is the 2700k (warm) which more closely resembles a normal incandescent light. There is another model that is rated at 5000k which is very BRIGHT (daylight). In my opinion the 5000k gives off a unusual light that you would see in a shopping store. I recommend the 2700k for your home. Installation is a breeze, unscrew your old bulb, remove existing baffle and trim ring, screw in the adapter, plug adapter into LED, fold up the legs and insert into recess light can, turn the bulb and pivot the bulb to desired angle.

Trim ring for this product is NOT true white - more like off-white!
The product installs easily, looks good and works fine, and I'm not sure if I'm the only one who has noticed the following problem: The trim ring is NOT WHITE - it's "off-white" or "Arizona white". This would be fine except the trim ring color doesn't match the other LED can lights nearby that I installed from another manufacturer/vendor (which have nice, true white trim rings). I didn't see anywhere in the description what the color of the trim ring was supposed to be - it actually says something like "stainless steel" - but the trim ring white just doesn't match the white ones available at Costco and Home Depot. I'm going to wait to see if this bugs me terribly. But while the product works well, I'm still a bit disappointed that the trim ring just isn't true white.

Great light, poor quality control
Purchased these for a kitchen remodel. We have sloped ceilings and the gimble feature works perfectly. I also like the warm light. However, of the 5 lights purchased, two were not properly assembled. Luckily, I had three other lights to refer to, so I was able to take the bad lights apart and put them together correctly, but note that quality control on these is not great. If you don't mind troubleshooting, the price is good and the product is otherwise fine.

Works as Advertised
Used in a hallway to direct light on posters and paintings on the wall. Very easy to install. Sound fitting in a 6 inch recess can. Descent angle. They also rotate so you should be able to angle the light in any direction with a little adjusting. They are very bright, so as mentioned in other review(s), you may want to use a dimmer switch to adjust brightness. I will purchase more of these when I'm ready to install in other rooms.

Product provides an excellent LED substitute for spotlights/potlights and gave our home a nice room lighting. Very easy to install. We've done our whole house (40 lights) - House looks like it has been renovated. The light is flush with ceiling and only a small rim at ceiling (which covers the hole in the ceiling left by the pot light !). Highly recommend dimmers on all, but we purchased these separately. Delivered as promised. Easy to install.

I ordered 8 of these total. 2 of them were defective and/or missing parts. Those 2 boxes had clearly been open previously. Great lights, but better quality checks required on returned items.
