I purchased 6 Topgreener High Speed USB Charger Receptacles after spending the weekend at a friend's house. She had replaced the receptacles on each side of the bed in the guest bedroom. The receptacles looked and worked great and she did the installation herself. She said it was an easy job. I ordered the receptacles from Amazon. They were delivered very quickly and in excellent condition. The packaging was excellent. Inside the box, I found the receptacle, a screw on wall plate and a screw less flat wall plate system. However, we have custom stainless steel wall plates and the fit just fine. The instructions were very easy to read and follow. An added plus is, you won't need a magnifying glass to read them. This weekend it was time to do the install. My husband was busy on another project, so I decided to do the job. I turned the power off at the breaker first, of course and then got started. The first install went well, I struggled a little getting the white & black copper wires off the screws of the old outlet. They were wrapped tight and I don't have the same strength that I used to in my arthritic right hand. When it came time to wire the new receptacle, I decided to use the slip in wire hole on the receptacle, rather than trying to wrap the copper again. I tightened the screws and carefully placed the receptacle into the wall box. These receptacles are slightly larger than a standard electric plug, so it took a little bit of work and strength to adjust the wires and to shove the receptacle into place. Once installed, I tested the outlet with an old rechargeable land line phone in case something blew up, when I turned the breaker back on. Nope, it was fine. I turned the breaker back off and went work on the 2nd outlet. The second outlet was actually a bit easier. I developed a system for removing the wrapped wire and getting it back onto the new outlet connections. My husband left to go to the hardware store and while I was working away my cell phone started ringing in the kitchen. I ignored it twice, but the third time it started ringing, I thought it might be my husband. I was boxed in on the wall side of the bed, with the nightstand blocking my exit. No problem, I initiated a tactical roll-out over the top of the bed, ran down the hall to the kitchen, just in time for the phone to stop ring. It turned out to be a friend who wanted to chat. Thirty minutes later, My husband returned, saw me chatting on the phone and went back to working on his project in the garage. He was trying to cut some boards with a circular saw and I was smart enough to stay out of that danger zone....or so I thought. I said goodbye to my friend and headed back to the bedroom to finish the job. Although the second outlet wired up easier, I was having a tough time getting it stuffed back into the j-box. The electrician left a lot of extra wire in that one. I wasn't up to cutting, stripping & re-looping the wire, so I pushed and pushed, to no avail. Finally, I decided to pull the outlet back out and see if I could organize the wires to make a little more room for the box. As I was pulling the box out, my fingers wrapped across the white wire and Bam! It was electrified and a jolt of electricity hit my hand! I couldn't believe it! Now, I knew that I had thrown the breaker again after testing the first outlet, in fact My husband was with me when I did. I walked thru the garage and into our backyard, where my sexy little handyman was working away. He was rebuilding my potting bench. I said "Honey" in a slightly higher and louder pitched voice than, I normally use. I then asked in the most pleasant tone I could muster after being hit with 120 volts of electricity....."Did you by chance turn the breaker for the bedroom back on?" He said yes, of course. Since he saw me on the phone, yacking away, he figured that I was done with the job and forgot to turn it on. He realized this after he popped another breaker when the electric saw he was using shorted out. He needed electricity so he checked all the breakers and made sure they were ALL on. The good news is, I finished the 2nd installation successfully. The other good news is, I had an appointment scheduled to get my hair permed to give it a little more body. After that little jolt, I can cancel it. I plan on putting two more outlets in our guest bedroom, I think I will do that project when my husband is safely tucked away on the golf course, for 4 hours. These wall receptacles work great. They have a clean design and eliminate the need for the USB transformer plug that would normally regulate the electricity going into your device. We can push the nightstands closer to the wall again, have two free electric outlets and my iPad is charging faster than ever. Highly recommended.
