THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS!! Don't assume this switch will save energy for every application
This clever switch does exactly what it's said to do and has an extra feature... if it shuts itself off in vacancy mode (vacancy mode = manual on, automatic off), but someone is actually still in the space, it can be reactivated by detecting motion within 30 seconds of shutting off. This is cool for those family members who get annoyed when your technology leaves them in the dark while they're trying to take a shower (oops). Why did i give it 4 stars instead of 5? I have only one gripe, but it happens to nullify the purpose for the switch. I noticed none of these cool "green" devices specify the idle current draw. That is; how much power it's consuming while the lights are off. This may seem like a trivial piece of information until you examine the details, so I tested all of my hardwired z-wave devices and also tested these switches. Here are some results: Aeon Labs micro switch: 13 mA Aeon Labs plug adapter: 15 mA GE Smart Switch: 16 mA GE Smart Dimmer: 19 mA TopGreeener TDOS5 (this switch): 37 mA (hmm... it would seem I've outed myself as slightly OCD at this point) Now, instead of converting everything to power/energy and talking about the estimated cost to power the idle switch, I'll just make a few comparisons based solely on current draw (all devices share the same voltage and $/kWh, so this will be apples to apples). Lets say you have a few spaces in your house that don't get used very often, but you want to avoid the possibility of the light getting left on for days just because no one goes in to check on it (e.g. the utility closet, attic light, basement light, etc.). One might think this is the perfect solution, a switch that will turn itself off! The problem is: a 40W LED bulb takes ~72mA and this switch takes 37mA when the light is OFF! that means installing this switch will become the equivalent of leaving the light ON 12 hours a day, every day! This is worth restating; even if you NEVER turn the lights on, this switch will consume just as much power as if you left the light ON for half of every day, or 4,380 hours per year. So, if you would have only used the light for a few hours per month, installing this switch will drastically increase that circuits energy consumption. It's equally counter productive for things like bathroom fans. If you have a few bathrooms and want to keep fans from running unnecessarily long, this switch would, again, seem like a convenient solution. Well... I measured my vent fan and it draws about 650 mA. So, in a 24 hour period, this switch will consume about 30% more energy than the fan would if it were left ON for an hour. That means any fan that is typically used for less than an hour per day will be better off without the constant load of this switch. Installing the switch in these applications will drastically increase your overall energy usage. As bad as all of that sounds, there are cases where this switch would save energy like a champ. For example: 1. A room with several incandescent lights that consume large amounts of energy very quickly 2. A room with several LED lights that get used frequently (i.e. a bathroom vanity with 4 or 6 bulbs) In these cases, the energy saved by reducing the ON time will add up very quickly and the energy spent on idle current will become insignificant. Unfortunately, this switch can will only provide value to me in about 3 of the 12 applications I intended. (i.e. counter productive for the guest closet, guest bathroom, all bathroom fans, utility closet, basement sump closet, attic, etc). The moral of the story is that you have to consider all of the elements of your "green" efforts to avoid unintended wasting of cash and energy. In several applications, a $3 toggle switch will ultimately prove more energy efficient than the more expensive, automated options.

Exactly what I needed
Earlier I ordered a version of the switches that require me to have bulbs that draw 15W, but it was NOT indicated in any description. Since I use LED bulbs that draw on a lower than 15W, I had to return them. But the Support from the seller helped me to order this right item to satisfy my needs.

Solved our problem!
We've been using a Leviton occupancy sensor switch to control our garage lights for over 5 years and it has worked flawlessly the entire time. However, we recently installed a portable A/C unit in the garage and the only place would could put it is about 5-6 feet from where the switch is (about 3 feet out and 4 feet to the side of it.) We noticed that every time the A/C would turn on so would the lights! I did some looking and decided to give this one a try. I wasn't sure if the lights turning on was being caused by some type of current 'surge' in the line or if it was actually caused by the switch detecting the air blowing from the unit. I went with this TOPGREENER switch because it requires a neutral (which I figured would be more reliable than ones that don't since they're basically bleeding off the line to the lights) and also because it has a sensitivity control on it. I installed the switch and everything appeared to work fine; initially no false triggering from the A/C and the switch functions perfectly. I turns on right away with motion, stays on continuously as long as there is motion in the room, and turns off 20 mins after the last motion event occurs. It also will turn right back on if I re-enter the room after it's gone off, even if that was just seconds ago. There are a lot of reviews indicating that it does not function this way, but maybe they have changed the programming in them. I'm not sure, but I do know it works exactly as expected. After testing for a while I did find that it would still occasionally turn on when the A/C cycled on, so I decreased the sensitivity control slightly and it has never happened since. My only complaint about this switch is that it does not seem to detect motion as well as my old Leviton switch did, especially off to the sides. Our switch is on the side wall as you come into the garage, so when we open the door we are at about a 45 degree angle from the switch; the Leviton would turn on immediately when door was opened and before we even had a chance to start into the garage whereas this switch requires us to actually walk through the doorway and take about one step into the garage before it turns on (at this point we are directly in front of it.) It also doesn't appear to detect motion at a distance as well, but I assume that is mostly due to my having to decrease the sensitivity, so I'll live with that. It will work ok for our needs and is a fair trade-off. One thing I really love about it is that you can remove the cover to access the setting controls without having to remove the wall plate! This is a wonderful design. Not the case with the Leviton. All things considered this is a great switch! It works for us and solved our unique problem.

Kind of Quirky
This thing was easy to install, but it wouldn't work until I played with it a bit. I finally got it to work, but it would only do so in "test" mode. Then it quit working altogether again. So I played with it some more, setting it to stay on a little longer than 30 seconds. It still wouldn't work unless we turned the light on and off manually. I was getting ready to send it back when magically it decided to work, this time for the additional time I had set it for! So now it is fully functional. I'll write an additional review if it quits. Otherwise, I'll just shut up.

and I am very happy with it
Spent almost $100 for Leviton motion sensor switches but none of them work with my LED bulb. My bulb kept on flickering when the switch is on off mode. I was very frustrated but wanted to give this one a try. Bought it, and I am very happy with it. Works just fine. Easy installation No flickering no problems at all. I am ordering 10 more switches for my home.

Works well but is gigantic
Make sure you're putting this guy in a deep box or a wide one because it is enormous. It works well but also requires a neutral so remember that.

Awesome
Works as expected, wide coverage and effective - much better than cheap brands here on Amazon. The box is deep, I did have to struggle quite a bit to fit it snug in the electrical box.

Great Product
Great Product. Works in cooler temperatures where other motion sensors fail. Been using for the last 3 years.
