Works on LED Bulbs

Works on LED Bulbs. After 10 years, the photo control on my front porch failed. Went to a big box home improvement store for a replacement, installed and it wouldn’t turn LED Light on. Ordered just the photo control from Amazon and it didn’t work. Ordered this one from Amazon, removed just the photo control from the wall plate…worked perfectly. Seems some older controls don’t work with the low power use of LED Bulbs. A photo control is very easy to install. Note that I am an electrician.

Fantastic light sensor switch

Our outside house lights were turning on and off at all wrong times for a while. I finally bought this replacement light sensor/switch and installed it. Installation was a breeze - make sure the light switch is turned off and the circuit breaker). Standing up on the ladder, unscrewing the face plate, undoing the old connectors and reconnecting the new switch. It has been working great by turning on and off our front lights at proper times (dusk and dawn). Really happy and will strongly recommend it.

Inefficient & Unreliable (Not Recommended)

I received 2 of these units and the 1st arrived defective (DoA). Upon testing the 2nd replacement item, I discovered that It functioned intermittently, and also inefficiently consumed 2.5 watts of power during daylight hours (while bulb circuit was switched off). When switched on, the switch consumed an additional 1 watt of power. Many reviewers are reporting issues with this control and have reported typical failures after 2-months to a year. After all the initial problems I experienced, I ended up returning mine for a full refund and then purchasing an alternate control, the J.LUMI YCA1030 (also available on Amazon). This control functions really well, draws almost zero additional power during the daytime, and has an attractive clear protective cap. I hope this info is helpful.

Al principio, buen funcionamiento...

Duraron solo 4 meses. aproximadamente, no soportó un chubasco fuerte y se quedaron prendidas después de una lluvia muy fuerte. El contacto estaba sellado y no penetraba el agua, no se sabe porque dejaron de apagarse en el día. Se quedaron prendidas siempre.

Utilizamos este producto para poner en automático el encendido y apagado de la luminaria exterior de un coto privado con 3 lámparas... Funcionó excelentemente. Muy buena calidad en el producto. Gracias!

Ojo debe estar en un claro donde le de directamente la luz del sol para que funcione. Si esta en una sombra aunque sea muy tenue, se vuelve loco y el sensor no sabe que hacer y prende y apaga... prende y apaga .. y prende y apaga.. y...

Muy confiable

La verdad tenía mucha desconfianza, pensé que no funcionaría como yo quería, pero me sorprendió, enciende y apaga a horas muy aceptables.
