How do you screw up orange and vanilla so terribly?!

So let me start by saying my two favorite natural baby lotions my kids have been using for years both got discontinued this year. (*facepalm* 2020, why do you have to be like this?!) So it was time to search for a new one since we have a toddler with super sensitive skin. I am really sensitive to strong scents and I feel like every single baby lotion is lavender scented for some reason; I was super excited to find this one! I don’t like to use ‘unscented’ lotions because they usually just smell awful. Finally one that wasn’t lavender scented and it was natural! Bonus! Wrong! How do you screw up orange and vanilla so terribly?! Seriously, did the product tester have a cold the day they tested this or what?! You screwed up two of the best scents in the world! This lotion smells almost chemically like a cleaning product, not even a hint of orange or vanilla. This is why I hate buying things like this online, but covid means I can’t go to the store and test products, so it was worth a shot since I’ve heard a lot of good things about Honest Co. Seeing as how this is the first product I’ve used by them, we are not off to a good start... I will say that it does work well, it’s very light, absorbs quickly, and leaves my baby’s skin super soft but I probably won’t continue to use it based on the scent alone. The search continues...

Light refreshing lotion but it smells bad, nothing like the claimed scent

I ordered the vanilla citrus scent and while it is light, refreshing, and reasonably priced, it doesn't smell anything like the claimed scent and actually smells pretty bad. I would order again in the unscented version.

Awful scent

It’s great that this lotion is free from toxins, but I expected a much more pleasant scent from Honest company.

What an Amazing product!

The Amazing smell ( Sweet orange and vanilla) of the honest lotion we love and it leaves SJ’s skin so soft! Great, Great product!! We have used the lotion and the body wash / shampoo. We have never had a problem with any of the Honest products! I’d give it a 10 +!!

Lotion works but the scent is not good

I love Honest brand's shampoo, conditioner, and spray detangler. The scents are amazing but without harsh chemicals or "fragrance." HOWEVER, the lotion smells NOTHING like the same scent found in these other products. It does, to me, smell like something has gone bad (as others mentioned in reviews). The lotion works great but I can’t get over the scent issue!

The best scent of Honest products

I love Honest products but I can’t take the scents. Their Almond smells like licorice and the lavender is unbearably strong. The orange is much subtler. I like it. The lotion is wonderful. I wish they’d make different scents Edit: I realized what the scent reminds me of…orange baby aspirin.

smells and feels so good

smell is so pleasant and light, great for sensitive skin so much that i even put left over product on my face at times, had this for about 2 months and use it everyday out of the shower and i’m still not even close to running out

Not really what it sounded like but it’s okay.

Bottle is nice Lotion feels nice however said hypoallergenic so I wasn’t expecting coconut oil to be in it. My bad -should have read that. I am allergic to coconut so skin was red and itchy after I applied it. I cannot comment on if this lotion works well due to the allergy as it left my skin dry and flakey. Been trying to find more orange scented things as it helps with my anxiety. This doesn’t have much of an orange scent. the vanilla smells a bit off as well. I’m not a fan of the scent of this lotion. (I like orange vanilla scents but this is not it.) my mom didn’t mind the smell but didn’t pick up that it was supposed to be orange vanilla.

Another good product for sensitive skin

This is the 3rd product in this scent line I've tried. It's got a great orange/vanilla scent which isn't strong, quite delicate actually (I'm highly scent sensitive) nor does it last too long (which I like). It's excellent on the skin, and seems to last longer than many other natural/organic brands I've tried. Will definitely buy again.

Not good for very dry or acne prone skin

I like the idea of this lotion as it contains more natural ingredients than others, however the formula is too thin to be moisturizing (might be okay in the summer but I'm from Alberta and it is dryyyy here) also the base contains coconut oil which makes my skin break out in little bumps. Wouldn't buy again but some people might like it.

Product has a bad smell

I haven’t used it on my baby yet so I am unaware of how it performs. Just not a fan of the smell, its terrible. It honestly smells like expired product. It’s not the lack of scent, it just literally smells bad. Does not smell like vanilla orange at all, not even the slightest. Disappointed because I heard really good things about these products. Wouldn’t order again. Probably won’t be using, I purchased an aveeno cream as replacement.

Lovely lightly scented cream. Good moisturizer. Nice sized tube. Simple ingredients with a lot less chemicals. Would get again.
