Works well - no leaks so far!

These seem to be working well for the heater hoses on my 1995 bronco. They're holding on tight and there are no leaks so far. My only complaint is that they should list the hose sizes these will work for. I had to take a guess and hope for the best. These turned out to be just a little smaller than I needed and I had to fight to get them seated properly, but now that they're on there they certainly aren't going anywhere!

What the web page shown are 2mm think spring steel which I need. The one sent with the same part number are black are thin light duty 1mm think spring steel. Looks like McMaster is the only place I found where you can get the correct heavy duty 2mm type.

Keeps the specified diameter and pressure.

These are high quality. After the first expansion, you can tell a cheapie will not hold or keep the size you wanted. Just take one and expand it and let it go. The Hillman will come back more and repeatedly. For your car, your peace of mind on the road, use a good one on that hose or pipe.

These are superior clamps in that they provide constant tension. I have had a radiator hose come off on the highway with the worm gear type of clamp. They do NOT provide constant tension, which is important as the hoses age and compress under the pressure of the clamp. I am replacing corroded clamps and the worm gear types on my vehicles with these.

These are the best spring clamps available

These are NOT the cheap clamps that you buy at Autozone. These things are legit and better than screw on type, bc they never let up. I used 2 boxes of these to do a trunk tank cooler for a supercharged car and not a single one has leaked. These are the best ones around.

Misleading size

I was looking for a spring clamp with a 1" closed inside diameter. These are 7/8" diameter closed, making it very difficult to get on the PCV hose I was trying to clamp.

Not good for 3/4" heater Hose

I was barely able to install this clamp onto the bottom T fitting. The clamp is opened up quite a bit at this point. Maybe that's normal. The clamp below, which I still can't find online for this larger size needed, fits great. I could not get this clamp to fit in that location as the fitting in the block has a nice bulb to it that you need to open the clamp up to get over. The bottom clamp is fitting onto the 3/4" hose right into an LS1 block out of a 98 Trans Am. I gave up trying ton install this onto the other fitting, ended up putting an old worm gear clamp onto it. I'd return these, but it was such a hassle to install, getting it off is not something I'm interest in doing. Maybe this would be good for 5/8" hose, but I already have clamps for it. Quality of the material is good, these just aren't working out for me.
