Just okay for Sultra
I have a couple Sultra curling irons that I love, so figured the flat iron would be a no brainer. For the high price point, this one is just okay...I have to go over my hair a few times to get it straight, and my hair is on the straight/wavy side to begin with. I do like the auto-off feature so that I don't have to worry about accidentally leaving it on.

Believe the hype!
I have very coarse, thick, frizzy hair that has been highlighted, dyed, chemically straightened and abused. I have six flat irons ranging in price from the cheapo drugstore ones to $250 salon straighteners. The Seductress is the first and only flat iron that basically changes the texture of my hair from coarse to thin while giving it shine. While for me it's not truly "one pass", as long as I use a protectant (I like to use pure Argan oil), two or three passes irons out the kinks and frizzles. WELL worth the money. I debated getting a keratin treatment instead of The Seductress, and I'm glad I made the right choice. It takes me max 10 minutes to go from fuzzball to sleek, and the cost of the iron vs. chemical treatments is a no-brainer! (It will last longer too). If you're in doubt, try it... At the worst, you can return it (unlike a salon treatment). UPDATE 8/8/13: Do not be wary of buying iron off Amazon (at least from the seller I used). My iron did stop working last week (it did the constant beeping and never heating up, I purchased in March). I contacted the seller and they replaced the iron, and sent me a prepaid return label to return the non-working iron. Sultra customer service never even responded to my e-mail!! Its possible that the issues are manufacturing defects, which is not the fault of the seller. I love the iron so much that I'm willing to give it a second chance, and I'm extremely pleased at how the Amazon seller handled the issue of the broken iron. UPDATE 7/6/19: I still have this iron. I still use it EVERY day. It's still as good as the day I bought it. Definitely worth the purchase. When it finally dies, I won't hesitate to buy again. UPDATE 6/1/21: Yup, this iron still works. I've bought many others wondering if the Sultra might have been losing its oomph, but I always go back to it. Still works better than any other straightening iron I've bought.

Disappointed!
I was so excited to order Sultra the Seductress flat iron. I had done my research on the product, and had mainly seen only good reviews. This iron actually seemed to have the highest rating over any of the other high quality irons I have researched. I just received my iron today, and was honestly so disappointed in the results that I received. I followed all instructions exactly as stated. I used the Fine setting, because my hair is pretty thin (which I am glad that I used the Fine setting, because even that setting got extremely hot). I made sure to spray heat protectant on my hair prior to flat ironing it as well. I immediately noticed as I was finished, that my hair just looked dull and not shiny at all. I thought that maybe I was just over analyzing, but then took my Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium and straightened the other side of my hair, only to find how much more shiny my old iron made it.I also noticed a lot of static from the Sultra. The only real great aspect that I loved about this iron was that it did not snag my hair at all. So all in all I was pretty disappointed with this iron. It looked so sheek and I was so looking forward to my hair being silky smooth and shiny, and becoming healthier as reviews the product advertisements said. It is possible that I got a dud, I really am not sure. But just thought I would write a review, given having a nice flat iron, and knowing what expectations to expect from a higher end iron. If any of the good reviewers have any tips for me, as to maybe why it has not worked as well, I would really appreciate it. Because I really was excited for this iron, and would like to know if I got a dud or something like that.

Too Expensive
This Curl Iron is far too expensive for what it does. Honestly, it does little more than the iron I bought at a discount store. After one day, one of the "on, off' buttons fell off. I can say that it works but not well enough to justify the cost. My advice is this, don't pay the ridiculous price that I did for an iron that is 'so, so.

Best Hair Iron I've ever used!!!!
I'm not usually compelled to write reviews. This is my first for any Amazon purchase. I simply LOVE this iron too much to not tell about it. It's sleek and sexy looking, but that's just a perk. I used it for the first time today and am blown away. My hair is below my waist and just above the hip. Hair texture is medium but more on the thick end if the spectrum with drastic highlights. I washed it yesterday, but didn't have time to blow dry it. I put a nickel-sized squeeze of Chi Slk Infusion through my hands and then throughout my hair. It was then wrapped into a bun and off to work I went. The result when pulling it down and brushing it out was messy, kinky waves; not cute, styled waves- just VERY messy hair. The next day-- in my haste to try the iron out, I figured this was the best chance to try the "single-pass technology" that Sultra advertises on the box and website. I did not use a heat spray prior to using the iron. I know, shameful. But I was able to straighten my entire head of hair without passing the iron over the same section. My hair is shiny and silky and most importantly, straight! This impressed me immensely! There was no tugging or snagging or burning like other irons I have used in the past. I used the thick setting and had no issues whatsoever. My previous iron was a 1" Ultra Chi. I never had a complaint about it, but I never new irons could be like the Seductress. I know I have only used it once, but I don't foresee any issues and look forward to daily use. My next experiment is to try curling my hair with the iron. I will post an update on that when I try it. I am beyond impressed! I love that there are three settings and it is safe for color treated hair as well. Highly recommend!

Straights the hair like a charm
It is worth a investment if you are into straighting your hair on regular basis. It doesn't give too much thermal stress on hair and damage it like others. The long hot plate allows for a good coverage and reduces the time in front of the mirror.

quality not as good as previous
I had one before and loved it! Went to Europe this summer and fried it. So order a replacement one and it doesn't work at all like the first one. Hair is not a smooth despite going over it multiple times. Was going to return it and sadly it doesn't look like I have the option anymore. Just bought it in August.

as this straightener is way too much money for the bad quality.
I have now bought two sultras because I was told they were quick, fast, and high quality. The first one broke within one and a half years and the second one broke within six months. The hing breaks loose from the inside and affects the opening and closing of the straightener and also its ability to stay on. I had a Chi for eight years prior to this straightener. I will be going back to Chi, as this straightener is way too much money for the bad quality.

Easy to Use!
Love it! So easy to use and amazing for thin hair and has a setting for thin or thick hair. Great quality. I am not an expert when it comes to straightening and this makes it so easy!
