Stopped Working
I really like this air pump kit UNTIL it stopped working! One month BEFORE 1 year warranty. Want to return (for new one if possible, because I really liked this product) L. Pieper

Has really good air flow
I bought this one and the Aquascape 75000 Pond Air 2 (Double Outlet Aeration Kit) The power cord on the Tetra is much heavier and was 15' long ( the Aquascape was only 6' and a much cheaper cord). Side by side, the Tetra had greater air pressure. I'm using it to keep the ice open on my 11' X 15' koi pond after my old one died. I'm anxious to see how it does when I put the air stones deeper and farther from the pump.

Sturdy, weather Hardy
I really like this. I used it in a stock tank over the winter. It has an excellent air output. And the tubing is exceptionally long. The pump body itself is very nice and sturdy. It survived months of freezes, rain, animal traffic AND multiple fire ant mounds built under and around it. It is quiet enough you won’t here it unless you’re right up on it.

Great air pump!
I have this pump outdoors in Texas, where it has withstood 100+ degree heat and scorching sun, as well as below freezing ice and and snow. It provides a good amount of air, and the power and air lines are long enough to accommodate my 15'x15' pond.

Works well, but requires periodic maintenance that involves ongoing expense.
The APK100 air pump is a nice looking unit and is good at its job of aerating our small (800 gallon) garden pond. But it requires periodic maintenance that involves extra expense. I'll share some things I've learned along the way, which should help you decide if this is the pump for you. [1] I had to replace my first APK100 pump after three seasons. The molded bottom case cracked in the Diaphragm Holder area, which disabled one of the air outlets. Normally poor/missing air flow is due to a failed rubber diaphragm, but unfortunately this was a unrepairable crack. See the photo at the end of my review. [2] The APK100 pump does not use a motor. Instead it has a large AC powered electromagnet and two magnetically coupled rubber diaphragms. These vibrate 60 times a second to create air flow on the two outputs. That's a lot of movement, so it is expected that the rubber diaphragms WILL fail every 6-12 months of continuous use. My repair technique is to wait until one of the air outputs has little or no flow, then I replace BOTH diaphragms at the same time. Tetra sells a repair kit (#77878) that includes both diaphragms. Like this item: Tetra 77878 Whisper Repair Kit for 60 and 100 Air Pump [3] As some other users have mentioned, I experienced the issue of losing air flow shortly after the installation of my first pump. Tetra Support sent me a repair kit (two diaphragms, no charge) and unfortunately it did not solve the problem. I found that the issue was caused by the plastic tape that the factory wrapped around the electromagnet. The tape's adhesive lost its grip when the electromagnet warmed up and then its end peeled away. The loose end curled-up on top of one of the bleeder hole ports on the bottom case, blocking the air entry, which disabled the air diaphragm. I removed the factory vinyl tape and replaced it with my own, which fully restored the air flow. See the photo (below) for the location of the affected bleeder holes (requires removal of electromagnet). [4] As others reported, I received broken air stones too. But I don't consider it a big deal since the loose plastic air hose nipples can be re-installed in a couple minutes using a hobby/craft hot melt glue gun. [5] The pump is a bit noisy which disrupts the tranquility of our fish pond. Moving it behind our waterfall helped a bit, but that didn't mask all the vibrating noise. My solution was to use a timer and only run the aeration system at night time (from 10PM to 4 AM) when we are unlikely to visit the pond. The added advantage of the timer is that we no longer run the Tetra pump 24 hours a day, which should extend the life of the air diaphragms. I am using this timer:Timer Outlet, Nearpow Multifunctional Infinite Cycle Programmable Plug-in Digital Timer Switch With 3-prong Outlet for Appliances, Energy-saving Timer, 15A/1800W Final conclusions: The APK100 Air Pump Kit works well for small garden pond aeration. It includes everything needed for a typical installation: Long length of air hose tubing, two sets of check valves, flow control valves, and large size air stones. Instruction manual is well written too. But the pump makes some noise and requires ongoing cost due to the expected periodic maintenance.

Let that pond breathe!
I have a 900 gallon pond in my backyard, of which 1/3 is a biomass of cattails, lillies, and other volunteer plants. Currently home to at least 30 goldfish, and numerous dragonflies and visiting honeybees. This aeration pump is fantastic for the amount of fizz it puts into the water. The fish love it, they are much more active playing in the bubbles, and swimming around in general. No sitting on the surface and gulping air for them... and it does help settle debris and clarify the water. The unit itself is VERY quiet. I can sit pondside and be 4 feet from the pump, and not notice it running. I appreciate the 15 foot long power cord, also. Although it is rated for outdoors, I have it sitting on two side by side bricks adjacent to the pond, just to keep the filtered air intake out of the grass. This doesn't cause any increase in vibration or motor noise, which is great. It was extremely simple to set up, I had it going in place in under 5 minutes. I am very happy with this aerator pump, and expect a good service life from it. Well worth the money.

Excellent pump, great value!
Been running in one of my ponds for a month, works as well as any other pumps. I’ve been using more pricy brands in my two ponds, and even recently recommended the other brand to a friend who bought a new house with a pond. Two pumps gave out at the same time after 4 years, I had one back up of the other brand, and thought I’d run that one one one pond and this one in another, and see which one is more reliable over the long haul and update review here at Amazon. I used the included adapters to blend into one stone, and this pump matches the air flow of the single output of the more pricey pump. The tubing is better quality with the Tetra, and the square stone seems to produce more air bubbles. In fact, I used one of the Tetra stones and replaced the round that came with the other pump. Also the included check valves is a nice feature that also does not come with the more expensive cousin on the other pond. So I used the extra check valve from this purchase to add more safety to the other, more expensive pump. Starting to see the trend? This less expensive model included parts, I’ve been using on the other more expensive pump that does not include them. I like the two outputs on this Tetra. In winter, condensation in the line can freeze and limit or block air flow, so I may go to two in winter to lesson the chance of a line freeze up and a pond freeze over. Less money, more included parts, better quality accessory parts, and the output on this and more expensive model are the same. More expensive has 2 or 3 year warranty, this has 1 year. We will see in the long haul which one is more cost effective, and update the review then. This early in the pump-off, this Tetra is winning.

Great Product, but
This is an excellent product, providing necessary aeration in my 2000 U.S. gallon pond, but I'm disappointed the air line tubing supplied is a whitish color, and it floats on the surface of the water. I had thought the company would supply the standard black air tubing that sinks and is therefore invisible in the pond. As I said, product works great, but ...

Great product that work all winter in the Canadian cold ...
Great product that work all winter in the Canadian cold and kept the pond from freezing solid. I have a stream that oxygenate the so I only use the air pump in the winter. Of course when the temperature got very, very cold I had to also use a de-icer heater in combination but only rarely. Very quiet also, it could be used in the summer as well. WE WILL SEE.
Lots of bubbles. Installed indoors thanks to 30 foot hose supplied with it. Have to see if it stops pond freezing over. Using with small floating heater.
