OEM makes the difference!

Bought our Crafstman 20v brushless string trimmer from Lowe's, and when the cap on the spool head got ground down to the point of uselessness we went back to Lowe's for the replacement cap. Instead they sold us an aftermarket spool head by Shakespeare that used pre-cut lengths of string that had to be replaced when they got worn down to a nub. Not only was this a chore to re-install the string every time, it made a huge difference in the battery life of the trimmer. A couple of weekends of that, and we were ready to look a little harder for the Craftsman replacement part. The cap itself was not available, but the whole assembly wasn't too expensive, and it was probably worth it to replace the whole thing because original was getting fussy about spooling out new string. Just remember that the thread that holds this head to the tool is backwards threaded, so go righty-loosy and lefty-tighty to replace the old one. Very satisfied with the performance, speed of delivery, and ease of replacement.

Fits; Easy to Install

Pretty nice OEM part even though it is made in China. Had some operational issues with the original, so hope this one fares better.

Saved the day!

I bought my weed eater at a local big box store as part of a package deal that included a leaf blower. Now I’m a simple guy and made a poor assumption that appropriate weed eater cord would be available at the same vendor. Not so! Soooo, when I ran out of line my options were throw a perfectly good weed eater away, order far more line than I would use in a reasonable time or find a new spool with line already on it. It was easier and faster to order this replacement spool thru Amazon as getting one from the local vendor was impossible as was getting one via Craftsman. I ordered several and have been very happy!

It came already opened and missing the cap

I got the replacement head quickly but noticed something was off. This must have been someone’s return the plastic was cut to be able to pull the part out and then I realized the cap was missing. Thankfully the one I already had fit! I had ordered it because I wasn’t able to find spools for the head I already had. I was pretty bummed for the price to get one missing a piece but it works. My 60v weedeater is working great and the line on it is strong.
