Accurate, takes AAA batteries, and seems reliable and well made
I have bought three of these now, after seeing the first one was well made and accurate. All consistently had readings within 0.2 degrees F of each other -- which is plenty good for me, and as advertised. All seem accurate, worked just right out of the box, well made, with documentation (with very tiny lettering). I found it easy enough to use that I didn't need to consult the documentation for basic use re putting in the batteries and intuitively using it to repeatedly take my temperature. (A plus, given all the complaints about similar Chinese units with POOR overall ratings which I didn't want to risk my money on). And these show up in a timeframe similar to what is promised. I find it very accurate compared to others of the same model, and my old school ever-reliable mercury thermometer (which I don't like shaking down every time I use it, given my old, sore joints). I had bought two more to have one for a friend without a good thermometer, and for redundancy as with COVID-19 around, I NEED to have a reliable way to check my temperature. It's not cheap. However, in my experience, it's hard to find thermometers since COVID-19. Also, the small ones with the watch batteries are DISASTER re just burning through batteries, and often not working right, even with a supposedly FRESH battery. With two AAA batteries (provided) and rechargeable batteries, the whole expense and hassle re batteries goes away. My primary complaint is the complaint of various other posters -- the + / - readings for battery insertion are a JOKE to read. I just did the obvious and put the - end on the springs, and it worked. I THEN used a black sharpie prmanent marker on the white plastic to make the markings easy to read -- problem solved. Sometimes, quality and ease of use is worth paying a little more. And this is about the price, with shipping, that MANY poorly reviewed (including shipping times) Chinese units are showing. Made in America -- if Americans will build products at similar prices and better quality or user experience than most competitors, I'll buy American a lot more.

Seller reached out after I gave a low rating because of inconsistent performance. They shipped me a new one--which works perfectly. Really glad I got a new one, since I liked the design, features and price. You don't always deal with a seller who responds quickly and takes care of problem. Happy to recommend! Original Review: Worked perfect the first time. Now it's hit or miss. You can press the scan button ten times and NOTHING happens. Then all of a sudden it works. Seems to have a very sensitive button. Right now these devices are hard to find and/or really expensive. This one would be a winner but it's too frustrating since it's intermittent. I might be generous in rating it a 3 star given its problems. Adding to review--it now shows a reading about one in ten times. Really frustrating pressing the button and NOTHING happening. So, lowerng the score from three to one. I usually have good luck with stuff on Amazon, and more often than not show five star reviews. But not for this loser! Really too bad.

Reliable, consistent, easy.
A basic forehead thermometer that does just what you need. Put it to a forehead, push the button and wait for the beep. Easy all around.

Works out of the box, easy to use
We just got this. It seems to be a new product, so I thought I'd include a review to help others. It appears to work fine on both me and my husband. Do read the instructions: you are supposed to point the device to the forehead, between the eyebrows, and just a little above the level of the eyebrows. Not elsewhere. Also, the device needs to be within 3 centimeters of the skin. Following these instructions, we got what appear to be valid readings. (I run 1 degree Fahrenheit cooler than my husband with every thermometer.) I gave it a 4 because it says "this is a sensitive calibrated device," so "store it in the original packaging," because apparently if you get dust and dirt in it, it won't work well. The packaging is not ideal for long-term storage.

So quick to read and easy to use
I bought this at the beginning of COVID and loved how easy it was to use, so easy my 9 yr old son was able to use it. It reads fast and vibrates when it's done reading. I showed my coworkers and they had me order them one as did my family.
