Solves drive belt tensioner noise.

This tensioner is exactly what I would expect from Gates. Keeps tension within 3 deflection pounds of factory tensioner at a fraction of the cost. I will use this product for my personal car’s and will also support it in my professional repairs.

Installed this in our 2008 Honda Pilot without issue. Might as well install this when doing the timing belt and water pump because you will need to remove the serpentine belt anyway and you are already working in the area. As mentioned by other reviewers this does come with both pulleys. To remove/install the bolt you can use something like a breaker bar or torque wrench go gain leverage and get the new belt on. This tensioner seems to be of good quality and I haven't had much problem with the Gates brand of replacement parts so I expect this to be trouble free as well.

Package was opened before I got it

I wasn't impressed with the fact that the 'Brand New' tensioner I bought from Amazon had been opened and presumably returned from a previous purchaser. Per the picture on Amazon, it was supposed to come with a new mounting bolt which of course was not there, hence the open package. As to the product itself, hopefully it will hold up.

Nearly identical to OEM, no issues with installation or use for almost 1.5 years

Belt tensioner was starting to make a little noise on my MDX so it was time to replace it. Removal of the old one was simple (with the right tools, need a long bar for leverage to remove tension from the belt). Installation was just as easy. Bolts up the same as the OEM one, no changes in design. Have been using it for nearly a year and a half without any issues. Great alternative to the expensive OEM part.

Awesome! Saved me hundreds versus the OEM parts and the Gates brand is not some cheap knockoff. I had been hearing belt chirping from a failed bearing for a couple months and these did the trick. Despite the picture, as has been noted this DOES include both pulleys. On my 3.2L Acura TL (2008, but will work in the full year range) this was a fairly easy install- maybe 35-40 minutes, start to finish. Also replaced the belt while I was at it.

The only option is Gates

Gates is always the manufacturer I go to for Timing belt & serpentine belt components, Always top quality with OEM fit and extensive instructions included. These tensioners for 04-06 Acura TL's need the plastic cover to be trimmed a few mm and these instructions included all of that information for the TSB's. Best components you can buy for your car.

Fit perfectly, the removable pulley is not the same tapered shape as the factory one which is not a problem because it comes with a new spacer washer just don’t try and reuse the old one. The only thing that you reuse with this kit is the two bolts to hold it on.
