Perfect size
Got these for my gallon glass jugs. Great seal for keeping liquid fresh, easy to clean.

These DO fit new-style GT's Kombucha & GT's Synergy bottles (and old style bottles too) and keep in the fizz!
I home brew kombucha and needed caps that sealed tightly to keep in carbonation during the 2nd ferment. In reading over the Q & A's for this product, one gentleman posted that these caps do not fit the new-style Dave's GT kombucha bottles. The new bottles have a slightly different screw-thread configuration versus the previous style bottles. You can tell if you have the new-style bottles as now the "GT" is a raised design on each plastic bottle cap. (The older bottles had a smooth plastic top - no embossing.) I respectfully disagree with his answer as I am very pleased with the fact these caps do work very well on the newer style GT bottles, and I've not had a problem with them doing the job I want them to do - and that is fitting so well that no carbonation leaks out. ~~ OLDER style GT bottles: These caps fit perfectly. I've made a number of batches and the carbonation is totally contained - nothing can leak through the sides of these caps. I am now getting super fizzy (YUM!) kombucha. ~~ NEW style GT bottles: Because the screw-threads are a little closer together and configured a bit differently than the previous style bottles, these poly-seal caps don't screw/tighten down as far as the caps that come with the bottles. HOWEVER, as long as you MAKE SURE to twist them on tight, making sure they are screwed down as far as they can go, they work great! I've had absolutely no loss of carbonation when using these on the new style bottles. The fizz factor is just the same as using these caps on the old style bottles. So, I am very pleased and happy I tried them, as I have more of the new style bottles on hand than the old style. **Remember: no matter what GT bottle you're using ... make sure to really tighten the caps after filling. You should then have great success with your 2nd ferment (if all other steps in the 2nd fermenting process are done properly). UPDATE: 4/27/2017: After 9-months of using the same caps on the newer bottles I think I've had a good amount of experience with them. I still say these caps work well on the newer thread-style GT bottles almost all the time. Now you will find that the caps seem to not screw all the way down - this is due to the thread design. And after the 2nd fermentation is done, I will admit that sometimes a bottle isn't as fizzy as another. But I still have a few of the original thread-design bottles and sometimes one of those isn't as fizzy as the others (I put them in the frig after the 2nd brew as I make a number of bottles at a time). One kombucha brew can sometimes be more or less carbonated than the next as many "kombucha brewing experts" mention. But no matter what, I have always had some level of carbonation in all bottles with the newer thread-style after the 2nd brew. **What I have found is what other's have posted on other sites ... it can help to turn the cap gently to the left to get it seated on the thread, and then screw it on tight. But in a perfect world, I do wish a cap manufacturer would make caps that really fit the newer GT bottles. But the "GT" initials are embossed right into the glass on the bottom, so maybe Dave (Dave's GT) does have an exclusive on the thread design, and cap manufacturers aren't interested in catering to a very small percentage of those who are kombucha home brewers.

Fits professional cleaner gallons!
My caps were broken and we needed a replacement badly. Very fortunate to come across this product!

Perfect fit for some commercial growlers I had on hand
A friend at work gave me a case of growlers from local breweries. I wanted to use them for making apple cider but needed caps. These were a perfect fit and made of good materials. The inner poly seal can be removed for easier cleaning if needed. The black plastic is a hard material that seems almost like old-time bakelite.

Just What I Needed
I have a one gallon glass jug that was just in need of a cap because the cap which was old was cracked. This set of caps was all I needed and these caps are just the right size.

Not suitable for use with GT's kombucha bottles
I really wanted to love these. I need this solution. Unfortunately, these caps only led to frustration and disappointment for my use, which is to seal kombucha for 2nd fermentation in reused GT's 16 oz (473 ml) kombucha bottles. The first few batches worked OK, and I thought I was getting decent results. Then I used a mix of these caps and some old re-used GT's caps and I was shocked at how much better the original caps contained the carbonation-- it was like night and day. I read some reviews suggesting that these caps from Home Brew Ohio work best when really cranked down. My results improved somewhat, but I then found them nearly impossible to remove. And still, I was getting much better results with re-used GT's caps. I have had to use a pair of channel lock pliers to remove some of these caps, and in each case the cap broke. I now only keep the remaining black caps for an emergency. I used one for my last batch because I was out of GT's caps. I drank it today. The lid was impossible to remove without pliers and the kombucha was only mildly carbonated as compared to the one I drank yesterday with a GT's cap. These may work fine for other bottle/thread designs, but in my book, these are not a good fit for GT's bottles. (Note: I only started collecting GT's bottles after the apparent bottle design you may read about-- all of mine have the raised/embossed GT's logo on the lid).

GT Bottle Cap Replacement
I bought these to replace my aging GT Kombucha bottle caps. They are ok at best but not better than GT's lids. Maybe they work more successfully on a different generation of bottles? I understand some reviewers have great success with them, but I have not. Hope this helps as they are pricey for the lack of quality. Pros: -they fit GT bottles purchased 2015-2018, not tried on newer bottles 2019 onward -they allow for minimal carbonation (my old GT lids allow for far more carbonation) Cons: -you have to have super strength to unscrew them after some pressure has built (on some bottles) -when washing, water gets between black lid and clear insert liner and insert may just fall out -liners are flimsy and don't seem like they'll last long

Exactly what I wanted, 38mm Poly Seal Screw Caps
These arrived today, as promised. That's due to Amazon Prime. The lids are in perfect condition and DO fit the 16 oz. jars from North Mountain Supply. I wanted more than the flat 'seal' that comes with the jars. I have already re-ordered more jars and lids. Today (31 Oct. 2019) my second order arrived. All these 38mm Poly Seal Screw Caps are in great condition. There are a couple of scratches here and there and some small chips on a couple of caps. Nothing that hinders their use, probably done in manufacturing or shipping. The caps should do a good job of keeping oxygen out of my vinegar while in storage. I think they would be great for home made sauces, too.

Thin brittle breakable plastic
Three (3) of the first five I used broke, one completely into pieces, the other two bits broke off on first use (see the photo). I’m wary of buying similar caps as they are probably from the same factory sold under different brand names. The plastic is very thin, feels and in fact is, very brittle. EDIT: Yes, another cap has broken. These caps are far too fragile. Latest cracked even though I’m being extra careful not to force nor over tighten.

Works as expected
Works on previously used GT Kombucha bottles. Product held in carbonation well (first time I over carbonated and it did not leak) and I have reused the same cap twice now with no problems. Plastic liner can be popped out to dry properly and reinserted with no problem. At a cost of under $1 per cap this is a fair price.

Good seal
For over a buck per cap I was hoping for good quality, and so far I haven't been disappointed. To test, I put some warm water in a growler, inverted, and shook. There was no sign of any leaking until I loosened the cap and the water sprayed out. They feel quite solid.
