My dogs love it!

I have two Chihuahua's. I live in town next to a busy road so I had trained them to go to puppy pads. Then I saw this product and purchased the whole Pet Zoom system last year. My girls started using it instantly! I wanted an extra grass mat so I could swap them out while I had one washed and drying. I tried a different kind of mat because it was about half the cost. It was a waste of money, they wouldn't even go near it. So I ordered this mat, it is the same that came with the original system. The mat I bought last year is still in good shape, like I said I just wanted a spare while I cleaned the other. I have saved lots of money not having to purchase puppy pads, and improving my carbon footprint by not filling landfills with all that plastic :) I love this product but I gave it 4 stars because it definetly has an odor. After some use no matter what you do or how you clean it there is still an odor! I have a puppy door and have mine placed on the end of the front porch. But on hot days you can still smell it. If you plan on using this in your home I would suggest a garage or laundry room that you can close off.

Great product that needs replacement.

My original review of the actual product can be found on the product's page. This is just the replacement grass and does what it tells it will do: replace the old grass. Living in an apartment and not being able to take my dog out each and every single time he needs to go, makes this product a life saver. But at the end of the day, it's still plastic and it's still going to stink. And it did. It's fairly easy to clean (I wash it in the bathtub with the hottest water I can bare and with antibacterial soap), but I do clean it on a daily basis so it doesn't stink too much. I bought two replacement pads, that way I can air dry one of them and use the other one. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5, is exactly because it's cheap plastic that stinks after a while. But it does the trick for me.

This replacement pad is great cuz you can take the old one off and clean it, I hose the used one off at the car wash with a high pressure hose, well first I put it in a big new black garbage bag and drive to the spray car wash, spray it with high pressure soap then rinse put it in a clean bag and dry it a day or 2 on my front porch in the sun and its like new! Then I rotate them again and again! J also buy a cheap $18 replacement pad each time we travel or stay in a hotel I put regular potty pads down then the grass down and simply change the pads underneath each morning, I just throw these ones away as I don't wanna travel with a dirty one back home but its only $18 very worth it being able to have your dog have a place to potty! Love it, works great!! Does NOT smell if you place potty pads underneath and put new pads down every few days and wash the used one one every week spray it down, make sure to completely dry the one you wash cuz it may have a little odor but once its dry its completely like new, no smell!

Pleasantly surprised

I bought this pad for my 14 year old Yorkie because he had a lot of problems slipping on regular wee wee pads. Although hesitant, I decided to try it. And I have to say that it was a great solution. I only use the grass pad placed on top of a wee wee pad so that all the urine is caught before going onto the floor. I found that the tray that comes with the pad was a bit uncomfortable for my dog, as he kept tripping on the edge. This way the pad is flat on the ground and much more accessible for him. I only replace the wee wee pad underneath daily and once a week or so give the grass pad a good rinse and hang to dry. Or I also spray the grass with half water half white vinegar to kill germs and any odor, which I have yet to smell. Very good idea.

It gets the job done.

Price point was the main focus for this purchase, and it's actually not bad for being on the lower end of this product type. We live in a 3rd floor apartment with a balcony, so this product is perfect for us. Whenever our dog needs to go we just open the sliding door and she takes it from there. She goes right to the pad and does her business. It does what it says it does. However, it is really hard to get rid of the odor from the grass patch, so I've replaced it every few months. Also be sure to empty the urine at least daily or once every few days, otherwise it just becomes putrid. The tray is durable and it just needs an occasional rinse. I ordered it off Amazon and I received it in no time.

Not-so-Nice spare, but Amazon fixed it.

I bought this to have as secondary mat while other dries from washing. However, this mat has some issues with not allowing urine to drain through it. Instead it stands in the matt, and when you pick up the matt it drains out the sides all over the place. Not nearly the same quality as the orignal mat that came with the set up. This one is trash. +++UPDATE+++ Got a replacement pad from Amazon today, it is much better. Odd that I have to put the used smelly one in a box and mail it back, but whatever. Feel sorry for the person who has to open it at the warehouse!
