Looks great AND functions great!
I have a few of these. They are holding up to the dishwasher, and I just love them. They don't get the deep cuts in them that my plastic boards do, they look classier, and they simply work. The liquid groove around the perimeter works, but isn't deep, but I like it exactly the way it is. They are thin, and are easier to pull out of a stack of cutting boards than the varying plastic ones I have, that either lack feet and slip, or have lots of rubber and are tough to organize. I love these Epicurean cutting boards!

Pricey but so far it's worth it
I didn't notice any odors like some reviewers did and it arrived in perfect condition. I noticed there was no info included on how to care for it and I thought that was odd. I work from home and often prepare 3 meals a day so dicing and slicing is a big part of what I do. The board doesn't have the feel of a natural wood board for chopping but it's close enough. I have yet to scratch it in any way. I haven't had it long enough to tell how it wears on knives. It cleans up easily with water and I haven't needed to use any detergent on it other than before the first use. I don't prepare much meat that needs to be sliced or diced so I can't say how it works for that. I like the larger size and leave it out on the counter. Is it an attractive item? Well, that's in the eye of the beholder, but I wouldn't buy this with the intent of perking up the look of your kitchen. I was afraid it would slide around but it stays in place well, maybe due to the weight, which by the way it's not light. If you have physical difficulties handling heavier objects, like arthritis, then maybe this isn't the size or type board for you.

Almost perfect! A well rounded cutting board!
Meets my needs and has just about all the features I wanted except non slip grips, but I suppose just putting a dish towel underneath works just fine. It really didn't seem to slip too much while I was cutting on it. It is dishwasher safe, has juice a groove, and has a hole in case you want to hang it. I think it's also reversible, but you will have to peel the sticker off the back. I've only had it for about a week so it hasn't seen enough high pigmented vegetables to prove if it stain resistant or enough heat from hot pots to show if it's also able to withstand 350゚ temperature if used as a trivet. I managed to get this size on sale for under $40, but either way...excellent value!

Dishwasher and Knife Safe
This is expensive for a cutting board, but it's been so worth it for me. I first fell in love with Epicurean cutting boards in my Viking cooking class. With so many students rotating through with sharp knives, I was amazed at how the cutting boards withstood our abuse and seemed to get better with repeated use. This board seems to be resistant to deep gouges with routine use. I have run mine through the dishwasher no problem, and I like the wells around the border to catch any run off from meats. I don't like bamboo because it's too hard on knives like glass. Plastic cutting boards get gouged so easily that they can harbor bacteria in the cracks. My Wusthoff knife leaves scratches on the board as you would expect with any cutting board but no gouges at all! It's reversible so you can use either side you prefer (the slate core is only on one side though). The only minor downside is that the UPC sticker left an outline on the board. No biggie, but it does distract from the aesthetic.

Best Cutting board I've ever used.
This is my fourth Epicurean cutting board. I have them in all sizes and I use them every day. The first one I purchased over 10 years ago and it's still in perfect shape and I still use it often but I wanted an even bigger one. I love it!

Great Cutting Board
Needed a new cutting board and researched everything from the basic flexible models that we have up to the $400+ models and I have to say that I am really happy I went with this one. It works great, has a nice cutting surface with a juice groove, or flip it over and you have a solid cutting surface. The board does get marked up with knife cuts but from everything that I have read, this is a good thing. Many cutting boards like the bamboo models or certain hard woods are so hard that they will have a tendency to dull your knives (something has to give when cutting - the knife or the board). I dont think it looks bad and actually gives it character but that is just me. The board can be tossed in the dishwasher if you wanted to and does not require and oiling which is great.

There is no perfect cutting board, but this comes close.
There are lots of opinions on cutting boards. Wood is naturally antimicrobial, but you can't put it in the dishwasher so it's hard to truly sanitize. Plastic is great until you cut on it, then it harbors bacteria in the scratches. Here's a wood-based cutting board you can put in the dishwasher. It's a reasonably "fast" cutting surface, and it's got a flat side for prepping things to slide off the side of the board, and a grooved side to catch carving juices. Will it guarantee you won't get sick, ever? No. It won't wash your car or pick up the kids from soccer practice either. But it's a nice cutting board.

Excellent cutting board!
It is very easy to clean. It is very sturdy and doesn't slip while chopping vegetables. This is the best cutting board that I have ever bought, and I like it so much that I bought one for my daughter!

Easy to clean, just lovely
Awesome and worth the price. Cleans very easily and stuff does not stick to it. Stuck it in dishwasher and absolutely perfect. I think I prefer the side without the groove but the material is primo.

Durable and easy to clean.
I have the worlds best Ceramic knives by kyocera and now the best cutting board to go with it without damaging my blades. This cleans easy and is super good to chop with. I use one side for raw, one side for cooked and so far so good. I even got the wax? to go with it so I can condition it when need be.

Bonne planche!
Très bonne planche qui nous à été conseillé. Cependant les lames de couteau marque plus la planche que j’aurais imaginé après 2 semaines. Nous avons une planche en bambou depuis 3 ans qui semble indestructible en comparaison.
