Another great GreenWorks product
As advertised - worked right out of the box - lightweight, easy to use, and was able to tackle the overgrown shrubs/bushes around the house. While most of the neighbors pay for yard services, which include mowing, trimming and hedge work - I couldn't see paying $100-$150 a month to maintain 2 bushes and a yard that's barely 15x25ft. ...maybe I'm cheap, maybe I like taking care of my own yard...regardless - I've now put together a nice yard maintenance kit - mower, weed trimmer and now this hedge trimmer. All are lightweight, but durable, easily manage our tiny yard - though I think they'd take care of much larger yards - and all are electric so I don't have to worry about gas or a lot of the maintenance associated with those types of machines. This trimmer was very sharp, and quickly cut through my overgrown bushes - while it's listed as able to handle 3/8" - I'd say it made good work of 1/2" branches as well. The 18-Inch Blade was fine for me, I'm 6'2" and could easily reach the tops of the bushes - but if you're shorter, you might want to think about the 22" model to give you that extra reach. While pretty quiet, my neighbor (who I share a bush along our property line) heard it and came outside to investigate "the noise." They're one of the folks who pay for their yardwork and after watching my efforts to match the work of their side of the bush...just had to try. They just as easily used the trimmer and when they commented that it was "nice" but that they'd "not want to pay all that" when they could get someone else to do the work...I mentioned I'd picked up everything for my yard for just about $250...they had "try" all the GreenWork tools. ...20 minutes later, half my yard was mowed and trimmed - and his wife was complaining about the money they'd wasted over the years. ...to the point she had to try the Hedge trimmer and commented on how easy it was to use. (of note - his yard crew does touch up his yard on a weekly basis and it does look like professionals take care of it; where I only mow twice a month and now trim the hedge monthly). I'm sold on the GreenWorks products - loved how this hedger handled - and if I'm on the road for work - my wife's got no excuse not to touch of the yard while I'm gone...

Wish it had a second handle
The only downside to this hedgetrimmer is that, rather than having an actual handle for your forward hand, it is a molded plastic protrusion for you to grab. My hands are smaller so this is awkward. A few times I ended up accidentally grabbing the shield rather than this piece...which is dangerous. Otherwise, this is great!

Ok for corded unit.
Works ok and does cut, but the cutting area is somewhat shorter than others and the cord often got in the way. If you seldom trim and it’s a small amount, then this unit will be fine. But if you use it a lot for heavy trimming, then I would switch to a longer blade, battery unit (I did).

Lightweight, Comes Fully Assemble, Easy To Use! Perfect Father's Day Gift!
This product is absolutely worth it! I bought this (and 2 other Greenworks products) for my husbands father's day gift and he was very pleased! Don't let the low price fool you, this feels and works better than the high priced hedge trimmers out there. Here why: - Extremely Lightweight, so our arms did not get tired. (We used it for an hour continuously) - There was no vibration while using it. - Very sturdy. - Perfectly trimmed all of our hedges with ease. - It came fully assembled so no assembly required at all. - Comes with a warranty. The paperwork and instructions are in the box so you can easily register this product. - If you want to do some fancy cuts with your hedges, this is a definite must have. We did rounded corners and straight corners, and it was so easy to play with the shapes and cuts. Note: You will need to just buy an outdoor extension cord. I picked up a 100 ft cord at Lowes that serves up to 10 AMPS. (Paid just $20 for it.) Tip: Keep the packaging for easy storage when you're done with it! Bonus: ZERO emissions! So for a hippy family like us, we are very happy keeping out conscious clear with this environmentally friendly product. If you are on the bench, I urge you to get off of it and get it now! We are very happy with Greenworks and all of their products! Loyal to Greenworks now!

Light, fun and effective!
All my lawn care tools are electric--from the lawnmower to the leaf blower to the chainsaw, but I decided to add the 18-inch Greenworks Hedge Trimmer since it is so inexpensive. For years I've been pleased with my Greenworks lawnmower and figured this might prove useful. Delivery was in two days. I just came in from trimming bushes lining the driveway, vines covering the front of my house and some Jasmine climbing two trees. The Greenworks hedge trimmer did a good job on them all, chewing though pencil-thick branches and wire-tough Jasmine like they were butter. While inadvisable, the lightweight trimmer allowed me to cut overhead junk one-handed. CAUTION: I only used the trimmer for five minutes before I cut the freakin' cord! Entirely my fault because I was having so much fun. Just pay attention and you won't have a problem. Also, verify your cord is rated for at least 3 amps. (I use a 100-foot 13-amp Yellow Jacket cord since I own a variety of heavy-use electric power tools.) The Greenworks hedge-clipper is about as noisy as an electric lawnmower--not super loud, but definitely not quiet. You do not need oil or maintenance like with a chainsaw; just plug it in and rock and roll. Anyway, at the price this rugged hedge trimmer is a solid five stars.

It works
This is a standard low-end hedge trimmer. The construction is kind of flimsy, but if they used more durable marterials than the soft plastics for anyting but the metal blade, this device would surely be heavier. Even so, try told hold this tool up for an extended period of time will give your arm muscles a workout. The hedge trimmer is extremely lound during operation. While it does work, don't expect to be able to chop trees down with this. This unit is best suited for twigs. For anything much thicker, you'll need something more heavy duty. The best thing about this tool is definitely the price.

Good performance, reliable and get the job done !!
I got a few Greenwork, SunJoe and B&D electrical snow and garden maintenance item. I would like to say Greenwork are the best with performance and value. Probably the best with durability. Although cannot compare to a more highend brand, but if you have small backyard and garden without heavy usage all the time, then Greenwork is the best. This Trimmer is not too heavy, easy to use and plug and play right away. Powerful enough to trim and cut thin light tree branch. Price are great.

Great product for price.
Bought for my dad, parents have a good amount of shrubs, bushes and cedars. I have used it and was surprised that it cut some pretty decent size branches off the cedars. Impressed how well it worked given it’s compact size. Can be used for short spurts one handed to get that extra reach. Would recommend for homeowners.

Likely unable to cut Paper
This thing is cheap for a reason. If you need to trim your lawn thats probably about as much as this will cut through with ease. Otherwise you will spend hours slowly and meticulously cutting through a hedge to thr point that it seems pointless and garden shears would be faster. Fairly disappointed. Probably going to sell privately and buy a more reputable brand.
