Powerful, Lightweight, and Comfortable to Use

Used this to clear a third of an acre of 20 year old blackberry canes and small trees. 600 gallons of yard waste in total. Took about 8 hours, working at an easy pace. Could have cleared it in six hours if I was in a hurry. Battery lasts for about 40 minutes of continuous cutting. Power is constant until the battery is discharged. Easy to use, great reach, powerful, and lightweight even with the 2amp battery attached. Motor can run for over a minute under heavy load before needing a brief cool down. Great machine for the price. Love the interchangeable B&D battery system. Also have the weed/mower and chainsaw.

Good vakue

Works as advertised. I have several other B & D 20V cordless tools so it's nice to be able to interchange the batteries. In the past B & D batteries haven't lasted long so hoping they've been improved on.

Good power

It seems Back and Decker is stepping up their game. This is a decent quality tool at a fair price. I’ve used it to cut through some shrub branches that were indeed 3/4 inch thick, and had no problem. It’s light and well balanced - easy to use. The 20V battery has plenty of oomph to do what I need around my country house. This is way cheaper than a Dewalt, and it may fall apart next time I use it, but I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt so far. Very happy.

Good balance for trimming soft plants

Awesome for trimming liriope grass. Finally found a unit that not only trims the dead ends but can actually shape these sore leaves with ease

Good tool

I am a gardener and I have a pole hedge trimmer, which is very good to use. However when a small (mostly ball form) bush(es) cutting or just a fast, small adjustment trimming needed, this is a very good choice. Easy to handle, very light, even with the small battery is long lasting. Although I recommend to buy an extra, maybe larger capacity battery, especially if you have more 20V+ B&D system tools. Only three things worth mentioning: 1, the blade speed is quite slow, should be better if the rotation is higher 2, The POWERCUT function is absolutely useless, if you have a stuck, just remove with hand, do not overstress the motor 3, the handle is quite square, when you have to form a bush, especially more of them, can be tiring for your wrist. Would be better a curved handle. Otherwise is a good purchase, I already worked through a season and it earned its price.

Does a great job!

This trimmer turned out to be better than I expected! Went a good solid half hour while I beat it up pretty bad. Cutting through many finger sized branches better than my older corded type. The on/off switch takes some getting used to but it's all about safety. This thing could easily take a finger off. All in all for a 20 volt machine, I'm pleased. Did all my cedar hedges, trimmed smaller trees and branches and was surprised at what it could do. Battery charging is slow, about 3 hours approx after it goes dead. May get an extra battery but for jobs around your home it's perfect.

Great hedge trimmer

I don’t use it often and to date, just four times, but I am very pleased with it. I have used Black and Decker products for years and they have not disappointed me. As for run time of the battery, I have used it for a maximum of twenty mins. at one time and it’s good. I find it a little heavy after five mins. of use, but I am older :).

Easy to use

The product arrived in reasonable time given Covid. The trimmer based on few uses works good and is light and easy to handle. The clip to release the start button is stiff but otherwise no issue with using the trimmer. It is good with thicker bushes also. The reason for lower rating is the battery when partly used keeps discharging and keeps depleting when unused for short periods. I have other products that use same 20V battery and have had similar issue before. Since I have 3 batteries it is not end of the world but wish it would be useful for full life of charge. Overall good product.

A handy tool

Just got this tool the other day and tried it right away on overgrown shrubs. This tool is very easy to use, it's light weight and has lots of run time on single charge. I was very impressed with it and it compliments my other Black and Decker 20v blower and string trimmer. I compared this to others such as Dewalt but for what I needed the cost difference just wasn't justified and so I am pleased with this purchase.
