Time will tell
I like the iron but hard to say if worth the money. My drug store iron curled just as well. I guess I’ll know by the condition of my hair in a few months... I think that’s what you’re paying for. It doesn’t seem to hold more than the other curling iron.

The T3 is ideal for my fine damaged hair.
Earlier this year my fine thick hair became damaged by sickness and a high fever. I needed a special curling iron that would pamper my hair and let me keep it looking good. T3 is my answer! It is easy to use and my hair responds beautifully to it!❤️ Perfect!!

Very poor operator controls
The off and on features and control of the heat range is the problem with this model and the previous model that was made. They changed the switch style, but did not correct the problem ~ cannot control the features/heat, or turn the device off without unpluging it.

Amazing
This curling iron is amazing. I have bleached hair and curl it twice a week. With some thermal protectant, it’s stayed healthy with the settings. It’s easy to set up for your hair.

Defective And Dangerous
This curling iron uses a series of capacitive touch buttons on the handle to change the settings. Any touch of these will change the settings. The default setting for manual mode is the maximum temperature. The iron is not supposed to begin heating until the settings are locked in to the device (by pressing the power button twice). At least that's what the manual says. In reality heat is applied immediately. This means that most people that try to use this are going to turn it on, set their settings and begin using the curling iron. The only documentation about locking the screen is in the user manual, this is not obvious on the device itself. If at any time during use you touch the front of the handle the settings will switch and typically result in significantly more heat being applied than intended. There is no way this is healthy for your hair and it seems like this behavior presents a significant hazard for anyone using it. When used correctly the curling iron works well. It heats really fast and otherwise seems well built but the user interface design of the device means that it becomes a hazard for anyone that isn't given a training course before use. The product also does NOT behave as they describe and the software based safety features do not function at all. Maybe this is worth another look in the next iteration but in its current state it's pretty apparent that an inadequate level of testing was done and will damage your hair or the hair of your friends/family. Fancy light up capacitive buttons aren't worth burning your hair off.

Not to hot to handle.
Doesn't fry my hair. Nice curling iron, seemed a little intimidating with all the bells and whistles, but it does work nicely, only drawback is the clip is a little stiff. Hopefully it'll loosen up after use.

Very expensive. Cheaper substitutes do the same good job as this one. Works well.
Having used it for several months now, I will give it a 5-star rating for overall performance. - Heats up pretty quickly. - Very easy to use and maneuver. - Settings are easy to set and follow. You don't really need a manual to figure things out if you have already used similar curling irons in the past. So, learning and using it is very easy. - There are different temperatures and modes to choose from, so you can always find a combination of mode and temperature that suits you the best. - The best thing is it works great even on the delicate hairs, which is nice. - All in all, this is an excellent curling iron. HOWEVER, it performs just as well as any sub-$100 curling iron. So, this one is really only for you if you have money to splurge (this one is priced $240 as I write this review, down from $340 when I had received it). So, the price is the only negative thing I can think of about this unit. Other than the high price, this unit works quite well and I have been very satisfied with overall performance.

Gorgeous looking curling iron but no more effective than those under $150
I haven’t used a curling iron with a clip in a while as I find wands (mainly non-tapered) easier to use. The transition back to using a curling iron with the clamp reminds me why I prefer wands - the clip requires more technique while the wands are very straightforward. Whatever your preference is, you can use the 1.25” Micro T3 as a regular wand if you want to, or with the clip, either way it still curls my hair - I just find it less time consuming to use it like a wand. The Smart HeatID feature is neat and I like that it saves your hair profile so that when you turn it on, it starts heating up to your recommended temperature setting. With that said, this feature on its own isn’t worth a huge amount of money to me. Turning on a curling iron or straightener and selecting a temperature doesn’t take more than 10 seconds in the morning! It does have a manual mode to select between 9 temperature settings (from 260°F to 410°F). I use level 4 (325°F) or 5 (350°F). You have to double tap the screen to lock in your selection for the iron to heat up. I really like that it has a locking feature, not enough heat styling tools have this option and many straighteners and curling wands are annoying for me to use because I accidentally press the temperature up/down buttons! I use a volumizing shampoo, heat protectant and texturizing product prior to curling my hair with this and the curls last a decent amount of time. I have very stubbornly straight and long hair so curls usually don’t last more than 3 – 4 hours and too much product can weigh down my hair so there’s always a balance to reach. High heat gets the curls to ‘lock-in’ longer but my hair gets damaged and so fried and frail when I use high heat so I stopped after having to cut off a lot of damage a while ago. The Heat ID inputs include: Hair Texture – Fine, Medium or Coarse Color Treatment – Is your hair bleached, fragile, damaged or dyed? Chemical Treatment – Did you have a hair smoothing treatment or perm? Is your hair fragile and damaged? I think the biggest downside to using the HeatID feature is that it doesn’t tell you what temperature it has been set to. I would really like to know what it has chosen as my ideal curling temp based on the 3 Hair Profile questions. Overall, this is a gorgeous looking curling iron with rose gold chrome accents and a cool digital control panel. I would not pay the current price for this though and I don’t think the HeatID feature warrants the increased cost. I love the aesthetic though and it certainly looks very luxe!

On The Pricier Side but Gets Results!
4 stars out of 5 I don't often find myself needing to read the manual for hair tools, but I did for this one. This curling iron has a variety of settings for all kinds of different hair types. It took a bit for me to really find the setting that worked best for my hair but once I did I was quite impressed with how well it worked! Turning it on and off took a little bit of getting used to, but once I did I found that I really liked this and the results that I got. I do find this to be a little pricier than necessary. Yes, you get what you pay for, but I still think that this is approximately $100 overpriced compared to other hair styling tools that I have tried in the past. I recommend this if you are looking for a top-of-the-line hair styling tool and if you are willing to pay that extra to get it. This is a styling tool that works to create beautiful curls!

Not ideal for all hair types
The T3 CURL ID curling iron is attractive, in white and rose gold colours, and smooth to the touch. The idea of a digital curling iron tailored just to your hair type is pretty neat. I have fine, straight hair that doesn’t easily hold curls and thought this iron might be the solution for me. Unfortunately, this solution comes at a high cost, and—at least for my hair type—the curling iron didn’t actually improve my styling experience or look. I first tried out the curling iron on the fine hair texture & colour treatment settings. I also tried manual mode. Either way, the curls were nice, but they didn’t last. Given that this iron retails for about $300, it would have to provide a stunningly different style to make it worth the high price. Further disadvantages are that the iron is heavy and a bit slippery when curling. Finally, I am the type of person who wants style with speed. While you can fix your fave hair type settings so that the iron heats up in the same way every time, until you find the right setting for you, get ready to sit down with the instructions and spend some time tapping away on the digital panel until you get the hang of this modern hair styling device.
