light weight and easy to use
I love to read myself to sleep at night, and I have a small bedside table and this does the trick perfectly. ii can read in bed now and turn off the light with a touch to the base. recharges while I'm at work and is ready to work for me that night.

The media could not be loaded. Considering getting a second one for my office desk but I’m not sure where I would clip it bedsides the existing lamp or the PC monitor. The Apple minimalist mouse design definitely makes this nostalgic and coveted.

Nice and bright
At 67, i like a small light on in areas where i might walk into something in the dark. If i get up in the middle of the night these are all i need without turning on the bigger lights. Very few watts used also.

Yes, it's a little on the "blue" side. I just got my 2-pack. Screwed one into the nightlight and turned it on. All it's for is to keep anyone from tripping over the edge of the rug at night. So if it's a little blue rather than a little yellow, it's not such a problem. It's been on for hours. It's true what they say -- since it uses only 0.6 watts instead of 4 watts, most of the glass envelope is running cool, with just a little warmth coming out of the base. The bulb is oriented horizontally; if it were oriented vertically, pointy bulb up, the base would be even cooler. Either way, the cheap plastic nightlight will last longer with this cooler LED bulb. This bulb is labeled "Daylight," but I think it should be labeled "Coolish," 'cuz it's definitely on the blue side. It's only slightly whiter than one of those bluish fluorescent lights from 1975. I gave it all 5 Amazonians because of its overwhelming advantages. The bulb is labeled 0.5 mA, which equals 0.6 watts at 120 volts. Multiply 0.6 by a constant of "8" -- the general consensus -- and that equals the equivalent brightness of a 5 watt light bulb. That means this bulb should be fine if you were happy using a 4 watt incandescent nightlight, but it will run cooler, the little plastic fixture it screws into will last a few decades longer, and the bulb is supposed to last a long time compared to the 4 watt incandescent which is manufactured to burn out if someone sneezes next door. There are also 1 watt LED nightlights, with candelabra bases, with an equivalent light of an 8 watt incandescent if you think a little more light would be good, and it would still burn cooler than a 4 watt incandescent.CRLight 1W LED Filament C7 Night Light Bulb, 2700K Warm White 110LM, E12 Candelabra Base Lamp C7 Mini Torpedo Shape, 11W Incandescent Replacement, 360° Beam Angle, Non-dimmable, 2 Pack . Hmmm, "Warm White" means "on the yellow side," as opposed to cool-blue. Theoretically, if your nightlight had a 4 watt incandescent screwed in, you should be able to switch to a 4 watt LED, and the cheap nightlight fixture would not notice any difference. The current draw into the nightlight fixture would be the same, so the metal conductors won't notice any difference. Since the conversion to light is lots more efficient with LEDs, a 4 watt LED would still be cooler than a 4 watt incandescent. Only difference would be the light output of a 4 watt LED would be about the same as an 32 watt incandescent, i.e., more than a 25 watt incandescent, almost a 40 watt incandescent. That would be pretty nifty coming out of a cheap nightlight fixture. But if you really only wanted a nightlight while you sleep, that much light could be an annoyance. If you start me up, I'll never stop. The latest science thinks that blue light tends to wipe out any melatonin in our brains, making it hard to fall asleep. In the case of a nightlight, then it would make more sense if the LED nightlight were yellowish instead of blueish. But, this is the first generation, and you can't have everything. Update -- 1 year 8 months later. The bulb still works. It usually just stays on 24/7. Sometimes I yank the nightlight out of the wall while it's on, which would certainly have blown out the incandescent bulb. This one just keeps working. I wonder if I could still find the 2nd bulb that came with this one.

Nice soft light, love the colors, but one issue
When I first received the Sylvania LED Night Light with USB port and socket, I thought it was defective. I plugged into a known live outlet, but the light would not come on. I placed my finger over the tiny hole where the photo detector is, and tried plugging the light into an outlet in a dark closet, but still it would not light. I tried touching the button on the side several times, thinking I had left it in the off mode, but no light. Figuring that the light was defective, I initiated a return request of the item. The return was processed, and I received a return code to ship the defective unit back to Amazon. I had selected a replacement, so the item was automatically re-ordered on my Amazon account. Then I just plugged the light in and left it. I had a suspicion that the light would come on eventually - and it did! After forgetting about the light for an hour or so, I happened to look at the outlet where I had plugged it in, and there was a slight flickering white light. I figured that there was still too much light hitting the sensor, so I covered it with my finger, just as I had done before. This time, the light came on full. I was now able to change from white to green and blue using the button on the side. You don't actually press the button - just touch it. Now that it is dark outside, when I turn off my room lights, the night light comes on. I don't know exactly why it would not come on when I had plugged it into the outlet in the dark closet, but it appears that the electronics take a while to initialize. There appears to be a capacitor that holds the charge for several seconds, but there is no back-up battery. One thing I like about this light is the fact that it has the outlet so I don't lose one on the power strip where I have it plugged in. Also, the USB charger port is a nice little extra. I see that this item had three 5* ratings, but no real reviews. I hope this review was helpful to anyone who is considering purchasing this item.

Works well!
I use this over a Roland TD-27 module in my studio. The Roland display is fine but could not read the writing on the buttons/knobs. I clamp this to the rod that holds the module and the goose-neck allows me to potition it over the module. Works well. I've only charged it twice. Keeps on going.

Bigger than I expected but great.
This was the perfect solution to my outlet problem. I needed both a nightlight and extra outlet, and a traditional extender wouldn't do the job. This light added the nightlight and gave me back my outlet plus has a USB, which worked out perfect. Nice soft light in three colors, with a sensor so it's not always on.

Could be a bit brighter
I expected it to be a bit brighter than it is. I bought this for my sewing machine and being a light that directs straight down in a small area I expected it to be brighter. So I suppose it will have to do as it is definitely better than not having a bulb at all. The light that does emit from this bulb it definitely a white light.

Nice little night light
Have one in the bathroom and another one in the kitchen. Almost never need to turn the ceiling lights on when I wake up in the middle of the night. They also lit the hallways a bit which is even better!

False info on Listing
So the Amazon Listing says that this is a 4 Lumens Bulbs, product that came is a 10 Lumens. Also is a 5000K Range Bright White which generates WAY too much light to be a Night Light. Don't recommend if you want something that helps you see and ISNT super bright that disrupts your Low Light Vision.
