Well built, sturdy. Short for 6' plus people

I'm beginning slow return to being able to stand again from a year of pain in bed. I assembled this lying down and was able to slowly drag it to its place in the living room. The pedal resistance is high for my 135#, so pushing down with weak leg muscles has them hurting with fewer steps. I'm up to around 50 steps each day and my legs are improving. Construction is solid, although the handle stand remains wobbly due to the very short main frame connecting tube. I like the counter. The double direction foot movenent feels natural and benefits ankle rotation each step. Handle grips feel good and give solid grip friction. Operation is silent and like climbing a steep ascent with firm footing. The stability on the floor is secure and no sense of tipping in use or while mounting. Ut may feel more tipsy on a deep pile carpet, but likely not. It needs a perfectly level, flat floor.

This amazing little stepper has made me WANT to get up and move more. Loving it!!

Solid little (quality made) machine & quite easy to set up. Love the small size, and how easy it is to "work out" wherever you want to move it to. The twisting motion of the pedals is so minor, it just feels very natural. I look forward to doing a few short sessions daily & thus far, this purchase has exceeded my expectations! With daily use, and well within a week, I noticed a positive difference to a personal knee/tendon mobility issue. So...money well spent. I highly recommend this, for motivating anyone to "get up and move"! It's been a great addition to my days.

Compact and effective

I've been using this for over a month. I ordered from the warehouse, but I think the person who sent it back did more disassembling than was necessary. That's the only reason I dock it on ease of assembly. The handles are a bit loose due to one bolt not snugging up just right, but it's not too bad. Easy to adjust the difficulty and range of motion. Quiet as can be. I can easily pick it up and move it, and it takes up so little space. And it's an intense and effective workout.

I'm pleasantly surprised!

Originally, I was browsing for a treadmill, but I really wanted something that would develop stronger muscles for walking uphill or step climbing (a few months ago I walked the length of the Grand Canyon, rim to rim, and I want to stay in shape for the next trip). When I read the reviews for this piece of equipment, I was still slightly undecided about it, but I chose to take the risk. I've only had it for three days. I am 5' 11", 205 lbs., and 69 years old. I had no problems putting it together; the base comes already assembled. The only assembly needed is with the vertical upright. I was very careful with the assembly instructions, and it took about 30 minutes to set up. But I went very slow. The equipment is made in China (imagine that!), so the instructions lack proper English, but they're manageable. The front of the base has a knob that will adjust the tension. The stepper makes very little noise; it's hardly noticeable. The base is approximately 18" by 18". Also, there's nothing to plug in. Before ordering, I thought that the handle would be too low for me, but it's the perfect height. I have mine set at optimum height (same as in the picture in the ad). Initially, I only took about 50 steps, and I was already breathing hard, so I got some rest. I felt that my leg muscles were receiving the exercise that I was looking for. Three days later, I'm doing 200 steps and then stopping. The air cylinders get pretty warm. I check the stepper every time I get off of it, looking for damage or anything loose. So far, everything is fine. I've also discovered an added bonus: I can place my hands on the bottom horizontal part of the handle (grip tighly) and slightly lean forward while stepping. As I take the steps, I slightly push up on my upper body with my arms, causing my biceps, triceps, and chest muscles to also get a workout, along with my legs. I just have to be careful not to lean forward too much, so I won't fall frontwards. So be very careful with this. As mentioned above, I've only had this equipment for three days. But so far, I am pleasantly surprised. Turns out that it was exactly what I wanted. And the price is very reasonable. UPDATE: I've had this stepper for almost 8 weeks. I have worked up to 3,000 steps a day. However, when I get near 700 steps, it begins to squeal. I've used different lubricating sprays, but the noise is still annoying. I finally found something that works: I place a small fan on the floor, directly in front of the red tension knob of the stepper. This cools down the bottom area, and that eliminates the noise. I'm still satisfied with the purchase.

Great workout

I purchased this for thigh and butt workout and was hoping for a little light cardio. I’m in pretty good shape and walk several miles a day with my dog. This stair stepper appeared on 5 best stair stepper reviews under the best portable stair stepper category so I decided to take a chance on it. Super easy setup only took about 15 minutes. I’m 5’2” 126. I just used it for the first time and I could definitely feel it in my thighs and light cardio. Very happy with my purchase. Would buy again. Note: I noticed some reviews mentioned heat/squeaking and broken parts after 1/2 hour use, however, the instructions say to use for max of 15 minutes at a time or you could damage parts.

Awesome machine!

This has been great so far. Packaging was excellent and really enjoy the handlebars! Some mentioned on not being able to reset the steps. You can! Just hold down the red button for a few seconds and everything resets! :) can wait to results form it soon!

Where has this been all my life?

This is the most amazing little stepper machine. Manual instructions never make sense to me, but once I figured out where all the bolts went it was a breeze to assemble. I'm about 135 pounds/5'8" tall and this machine has no problem remaining sturdy with about a 10 minute workout. I need core exercise or I suffer from sciatica real bad. I've only been using this stepper for a few days and already it has strengthened my lower back, and even sorted out a recurring issue I've had with my right knee for over 30 years. It does a great job tightening the muscles and is easy to use. I think with the "twisting" motion it somehow realigns the skeletal system, aiding in reducing aches and pains. I'd highly recommend this stepper to anyone who's been thinking about it, but not sure if they should spend the money on it or not. Worst case scenario, return it. Otherwise I think most people will be very happy with this equipment.

Us eYou Tube video for assembly

Came yesterday incredibly well packed. Exploding diagrams not my thing! You Tube saved the day with their video which you can watch through then stop at each step to work through it. Easy peasy! Gives your lungs and legs a good workout, start slow and build up. Good to have step depth to change and handlebar height change as I'm only short. Small footprint to store, seems well made. So far very pleased. UPDATE: no guarantee in UK according to Sunny, disappointing! I was suspicious when I could find nothing in the manual. Hope it lasts as pleased so far.

Good for rehab, elderly, or beginner steppers

I bought this for rehab after my ankle surgery. I needed something easy to use. This is a good product for that and I achieved my goal. However it is not for very heavy people. I’d say 200 pounds max. It moved up and down with a slight twist. After a while you do tend to feel it the knee joint. The tension does adjust but it is linked to the height. So if you add more tension the steps go a bit higher. Less tension equals smaller steps. Height of machine is adjustable. This is good for watching tv and exercising. Good for beginners, elderly or rehab. It is sturdy. Like walking up a slight hill, so just a bit more exercise than walking alone but it does the trick. I feel it in my calves and legs, and bottom of glutes, after about 5 mins of use. You’d have to use it a min of 20 mins for a half decent cardio. My mom is 71 and it was a workout for her after 2 minutes. So for elderly it good!

It’s a great, very user-friendly machine! Buy one if you can’t go to the gym. A great deal!

I work out every day for an hour, 35 minutes of which on this machine. It has been a very pleasant, mild cardio exercise for the past month or so. From time to time the bolts get a bit loose, so we have to tighten them. I also had to add some oil to the joints because there is a squeaking noise that I hear. All in all is really good.
