I would buy this over MSR or JetBoil 10x over
Ever since GanderMountain was bought out and has been liquidizing their merchandise, I was waiting weeks-on-end for Jetboils to be 30% off. However, I started calculating the discounts instead of just waiting until they actually happened. The was primarily looking at the Jetboil MiniMo because of its great reviews and its piezo ignition and simmer control. Before buying this product, I have been using an iso-butane stove for my MiniMo cooking set. Yes this propane option is heavier than the iso-butane stoves that you find out there, but it's also wind-resistant and I find that the propane adds the needed weight to keep the whole contraption from falling over when I'm quickly trying to make soup or other food in the cup. In my experiences of backpacking and canoeing, it can be a real pain in the butt to cook on a stove that becomes top-heavy from the food you are cooking. With this stove, I have not run into this problem once and if Camp Chef continues to make a propane stove, I don't think I will ever go back to iso-butane. You can also purchase an accessory adapter so that you can use your current pots or pans on top. Back to my comparison to the Jetboil. I am not one to purchase equipment because it is top-brand, and therefore must be the best on the market. I've read reviews on other, less recognized brands, where people will say they ripped off Jetboil designs. The added weight of the propane, the same exact features (and more durable build than the MiniMo) is what made up my mind in regards to purchasing this stove. On top of that, it comes with a very sturdy, collapsible base, just when I thought I couldn't have purchased an even more sturdy backpacking stove. I want to also add that the picture can be deceiving. The propane model does not have a "coat hanger-like" handle. The handle is aluminum built with a plastic grip which folds over and secures the lid and its contents when it's packed up. For half the price of Jetboil, and the superb quality that Camp Chef has to offer in all of its products, I would recommend this product to any fellow backpacker.

Make sure you use a new propane canister
EDIT: Make sure you have a new, good propane canister... my Camp Chef worked great once I got a new propane canister... the following happened because my canister was old: Stopped giving me a high powered jet flame after about 3 months of use and only putters a small flame now... basically removing the main alluring feature of this stove.

Don't waste your money on a Jetboil.
Awesome little stove, i have a jetboil and i bought this on as an extra for my recent backpacking trip into the grand canyon and i can honestly say don't waste your money on a jetboil. This stove is every bit as good and i actually like the features on it better than my jetboil. I bought the propane version simply because i have 15-20 little coleman propane canisters laying around at my house and i wanted something i could use with them, and it'll boil a full liter of water in about 3-4 minutes so i ended up not even using one propane bottle for my entire 8 day backpacking trip using it for breakfast and dinner every day and occasionally lunch. Everything with the stove is high quality and it ignites every single time without falter, the manufacturing quality is every bit as good as a Jetboil and I look forward to using this stove on tons more adventures.

Love this little stove
I got the propane version and packed in 3 canisters of propane for a week of backpacking. Planned on 3 canisters cause I was heating up water for myself and 5-6 others. Ended up not even using 1 full canister. Packs up nice and doesn't rattle around. Heats up water quick, even when the water was filtered right from a stream that was glacier fed. Worked well even with stiff winds. Didn't burn my hands due to the wrap around the cup. Very stable with the tri fold base and I loved having the measurements on the inside of the cup - very handy. Best thing though was how fast and efficiently it heated up the water! Amazing. If you are looking at other brands, you can stop cause this stove is fantastic!

Impressive And compact.
Use to heat water for shower. We use a one gallon weed spray bottle with a sink rinse sprayer. The one quart of boiling water with three quarts of room temperature water works out perfectly. Heated two quarts of water a day for 25 days and am still on first bottle of Propane. One note though with a full bottle boiling time is about two minutes. As time went on the time is slowing down and is now closer to five minutes. Still works easily and dependable. Highly recommend!

Buy the right canisters
This is primarily used for 2 to 7 day, 15 to 75 mile hikes. I'm getting older and don't hike as extensively as when I was in my 20s and 30s. I started with a SVEA stove just to give perspective. Upgraded to an MSR firefly when I did the JMT and wait for it---------- The Howard Eaton trail. PCT and AT were not a thing back then. Squeeze cheese and Space Food Sticks anyone? I love this thing but the OG in me has a thing about canisters. I've never left anything on the trail except my own BIO Waste so the idea of carrying an empty can took some getting used to.

Solid product
I recently broke my first one, due to user error and didn't even wait for it to cool before I purchased a new one. It's just that good. I used this on a cross country road trip and again on 20+ camping/fishing trips. The Coleman propane is so cheap, long lasting and widely available, its a no brainer. You probably get 2-4 trips use on one propane canister. Excellence.

the stove arrived defective.
Upon examining the stove I noticed that one of the folded heat ring radiator tabs (I really don’t know what to call these) was broken off . I didn’t see any broken parts in the box, so I assume that this is a case of poor quality control on camp chef's part. Both the the shipping and item boxes appeared undamaged as well although there was absolutely no packing in shipping box.

false description
The description is total false. It uses a propane tank. This company lies. Don't be fooled.
