Very easy to use
This wallpaper gadget is used to score the wallpaper so that whatever you're using to wet the glue will penetrate through. I've removed plenty of wallpaper before and have recently purchased a home with wallpaper circa the 1990s that was the first iteration of peel and stick, only to activate the glue you had to wet it by the sheet. It's by far the worst wallpaper style that I've ever had to remove. Using this tool, a spray bottle filled with soapy water and a chisel I am able to use a heat gun to peel the "paper" part of the wall paper off and then rescore the "glue" layer and spray it with 80:20 vinegar:hot water solution and scrape off some of the remaining mess. While I have had to saturate the bottom layer numerous times and scrub till my hands are beyond numb and then use an oscillating sander, this is still better than without the scoring tool. Whoever decided wallpaper should be affixed to every wall and some ceilings in my new home should be institutionalized but I knew what I was getting myself into so I guess it's my own fault. But without this handy tool I never would have cleared one room in a weekend. For the cost and simplicity of design I can't fault the tool at all. It has been a huge help and I wish I had one back in the day when I was a kid scraping wall paper off my walls with my mom. I don't think we had a scoring tool of any kind back then and it was the same type of wallpaper so it took us weeks for one room. Beware that you may damage some of the very first layer of the wall but honestly, if you're like me, the alternative is setting fire to the house when you're that determined to get the wallpaper off so you'll be happy to apply some spackle just to get the stuff off.

LOVE IT!… BUT, LUBRICANT ALL MOVING PARTS BEFORE USE !!!
The media could not be loaded. This Tool is worth every cent, times Ten! I gave it a 1 star demerit; from 5 Stars to 4 for all moving parts not being lubricated, prior to delivery (or at least noted “As Needed”) when packaged. Note: I also own the more popular name brand Paper Tiger, but was unable to find it (in the garage or in the local hardwares) when beginning my project. I found this “Amazon Basic” unit online with next day delivery, so I went ahead and picked it up to give it a try. At first, I was disappointed because none of the moving parts, rotating blades or spindles would move at all… leaving only skid marks in its path. I was ready to send it back even at the small price I paid, but thought to break it down, lubricate all the parts to free them up & give it another chance. I am so glad I did! The overall “Handle” design is really nice in both comfort and even more so in functionality.p. Plus, the easily removable clip-on axles allow you to remove a set of wheels and get the remaining rotary blades into tight spaces like doorways & joining walls, windows etc… (see video clip) Don’t hesitate… Just get it!!! You’ll be glad you did!

Works great and fast
Works well and faster than the smaller palm-sized wallpaper scoring tool

Serviceable but not amazing
It's affordable, easy to use, and gets the just done. Having said that, it feels cheap and the serrated wheels are not very durable. By far not the worst scoring tool I've used. You get your money out of it. It's a good backup, but I wouldn't suggest it as a primary scoring tool for professional use.

Cheaply made, the teeth don't puncture easily.
The idea of this product is to puncture holes in wallpaper to prep for removal. The "teeth" on this product were dull. You should only need to apply slight pressure. I was also sent a used item. I would recommend a different brand.

Did not work too well
I ended up having to purchase another scoring tool as this one did not work as well as the standard one that you cup in your palm. Would not recommend to anyone who has to get into tight spaces, corners or edges.

Well thought out but not well made
This tool to help strip painted wallpaper can work, but mine needed adjustment before I could use it. The main thing with removing wallpaper is to allow enough time for water to soften first the paper, then the glue underneath. Keep wetting the paper until it will scrape off easily. This tool is to make holes in the paint surface to allow water to get into the paper, and eventually to reach the glue. The tool has three pairs of spiked metal wheels to dig into the surface of the paint/paper. All the rest is made of plastic, many small parts, any of which can be broken unless you use it with care. The problem with mine was that the spiked wheels would not turn. You cannot use force or the small plastic parts will break. I found that sliding a thin knife blade between the metal wheels and the plastic outer 'hub' can loosen the wheels. Underneath the hub the wheels run on a plastic stub axle, then a plastic washer and a retaining 'C' clip. This was all too tight so the wheels would not turn. Mostly using the knife blade pushed the hub a little and allowed the wheels to turn. The clever part is that the pairs of spiked wheels (each of these is also a pair, making about 48 spikes each) are 'toed out' so out of alignment. This means that they don't just make a little hole but also push each spike sideways, lifting little bits of the paper surface. Providing that the spiked wheels turn freely the best technique might be to work in a circular motion over the wall, as each pair of wheels will then follow the movement smoothly. If the tool is kept wet with soapy water it will help lubricate the plastic parts.

Poor quality compared to paper tiger
Bought this and a Zinsser Paper Tiger so two of us could score walls at the same time. Unfortunately this doesn't compare. The serrated wheels do not all move freely, some are stuck and won't turn at all, meaning you are at risk of simply scoring and scratching the paper and plaster beneath. I tried lubricating them which helped free some of them but I won't be using it and will be returning the item as it is not fit for purpose. Spend the extra on the paper tiger.

Broke After Less Than 10 Minutes
Really disappointed by this. The branding on the handle was half worn on delivery, unsure if it’s because it was used previously or if it’s just a bad quality print. It’s large enough to score decent areas at once, but the teeth don’t penetrate very deep. Within 10 minutes of use, one of the wheels snapped off and could not be reattached. Had much better success just using a sharp utility knife ahead of steaming

Not good
Wheels are to stiff to go smoothly accross the wall. I tried putting lubricant on them but that really didn't help. Spend a few more pounds and get a branded one. They work much better.

Great, time saver!
This tool is great! I bought one previously from b&q which broke immediately, this one is very sturdy and does a great job of perforating the paper so the steam can get through easily - saves a lot of scraping time.
