If you can beat a streamlight, please tag me..
I carried the smaller version for years until it was about 87% silver and never had an issue. Grabbed this as an upgrade and couldn’t be happier. Bright, has the ten tap mode switching, lasts forever. These lights just work.

Small, light, and bright.
I had an earlier version of this flashlight. I wasn't impressed with the quality but it was small, light and put out 115 lumens on high. It's a great little flashlight to have with me all the time. After I lost it, I bought a new one and it's definitely higher quality.

Good light, perfect size.
This light is always with me. Brightness, battery life, and durability I would say are very good for the size of light this is. The size of this light for every day carry is just perfect.

Streamlight Protac 1AAA - a bright and tough EDC pocket mini/micro light. Almost perfect
Pros: It’s bright! - 115 lumen and 890 candela on high. (The Amazon description is old and doesn’t list the new specs.) It’s a solid aluminum body and the lens is GLASS unlike most other very small lights. The clip is steel. It is still very light though. It’s tiny and is easy to just stick in your pocket and almost forget about it. The two-way deep carry pocket clip can also be used to clip the light on a hat bill. Ten tap programming is a nice feature a lot of other small lights don’t offer. Uses common household AAA alkaline batteries or AAA lithium. Lifetime warranty. Streamlight has a reputation for standing behind their products and service. Cons: None * One thing I will mention some might perceive as a con is battery life. AAA alkaline batteries (I tried two different brand new ones) never lasted extremely long and didn't provide much bright light after around an hour. What’s great is the light will also accept AAA lithium batteries (non-rechargeable) giving you about 30 more minutes of runtime but they do cost more. A lithium AAA battery also gives you more constant brightness for longer rather than a gradual taper off like a AAA alkaline. I love the high performance in a tiny package so this isn’t really a con for me. If this is an issue for you, either use the low mode or step up to the Streamlight Protac 1L-1AA. This is a very, very minor criticism I have of Streamlight programming on a few of their lights. There is no way to set the programming to go from high-low only without strobe. There is only high, low-high or high-strobe-low which is the default. If you guys are reading this, your lights would be perfect if a high-low mode were added!

Excellent light for the price
I wanted a single aaa flashlight for every day carry. I had a surefire titan prior to this streamlight and I lost it so instead of buying another surefire at twice the price of the streamlight I bought the protac. So far it has exceeded my expectations. It's quite bright on high and low mode is perfect for where you just need a little bit of light. I moved the pocket clip to the body instead of the tailcap so it doesnt interfere with the removal of the tailcap for battery replacement. Update: about 4 months later it's still going strong no problems at all and it's in my back pocket every day. Dropped several time from about chest height onto concrete with still no problems. Pictures of beam are low and high in a brightly lit shop. Update #2: Okay so its been almost two years, i dont know how many drops onto concrete, its been totally submerged in water many times, its been submerged underwater and left there in the tank of an edm machine for use as a work lightand carried every single day. It has been a really great flashlight. Still very bright on high and the low setting is fantastic for use looking down into holes in metal since its not so bright that it blinds you. Unfortunately it has started to flicker occasionally. It doesnt do it often and always works itself out. I still love that light especially for the price considering my last AAA edc light was a surfire titan which i still wouldn't pick over this little streamlight. Update #3: As of right now it is January 21st 2022. It has begun flickering or not turning on almost every time I turn it on. Im kinda disappointed that I need to replace it but I guess it did last close to 3 years and was a good light. I havent found anything that fits the bill quite as well as this does so ill be ordering a new one. This does seem to be a common theme though as many years ago I had a micro stream that did the same thing eventually. I wish streamlight would figure this out.

Excellent for EDC
115 lumen is plenty for what you'll need/use an EDC light for. The light is shorter and only a little thicker than a pen and very lightweight. Also, the programmable feature is easy to use and very convenient. Awesome value at around $30

Don't take drops well.
I've had several of these. Small, bright, cute little light.... As always one drop onto concrete from waist level and the light never works right again, will shut off, not shut, or will come on without pushing the button. Good for lite use.

115 LUMEN - PERFECT EDC
Perfect built small tactical light. Great feel all around, solid clip. Use lithiums or rechargeable aaa for best performance. Just to confirm, they are shipping out the new model of this - 115 lumen, not 70. So far so good, great EDC!

Nice gift to give as a stocking stuffer
It's a Christmas gift for my father and I expect it will be a welcome addition to his EDC tools and knives.
