Decent little flashlight
First off I’m using this as an edc/work light, it’s not being mounted on a weapon but it could easily be done with the right mount. And as for a lot of the people complaining about the battery size (cr123) and life have never clearly owned a higher end surefire, stream light, olight,Felix, etc....in my case the battery life is totally similar to any of that type used in the other brands stated above. Also there are a lot of complaints over how warm it gets, it’s got 3 high output LEDs, it’s gonna get warm regardless, if you’re a flashlight person you know this I would by now means say it’s hotter than any other light I’ve used. Now for the pros and cons Pros: Light over all is decent built, roughly the same size as a Surefire G2X, just a hair shorter, and a tad heavier, not noticeable in pocket for sure. -light has 3 modes which starts on the brightest setting first which is great, I always hate having to click through the settings to get to the highest mode. -Battery life is as you would expect out of cr123s, I’m also running rechargeable Rcr123s in them no problem. -The tail click is snappy and responsive. And now the cons (some are super minor and more nitpicking, but for a sub $20 flashlight it ain’t gonna be perfect) Cons: -I call BS on this light being 700 lumens, it is bright for sure especially within 1-4 feet, but the beam isn’t focused at all so anything further out the spread is so wide the brightness drops considerably, with a surefire g2x that is 320 lumens you pretty much get the same brightness any length past 5 or so feet. -this ones minor, but the bulb head actually unscrews which I find kinda odd, a lot of lights that’s usually a solid piece and I keep it in my back pocket and in and out of a forklift for 12 hours so the sitting on it and readjusting of me in the seat caused it to loosen a dab or 2 of blue loctite and it was good to go. -it does have a strobe function but you have to half click it twice ridiculously fast for it to activate. And the pressure/timing seems to vary (I don’t really use this function so it’s not a big deal for me) -The pocket clip ain’t that great it’s your standard U shaped metal pocket clip, it is reversible so you can carry it lens up or lens down, the slots for the clip to sit in on the body are a little further down on the body of the light than I care for, making the tail cap/lens sit a bit higher out of pocket than I care for. -the tail cap itself has a weird cut out on all the lights I own the button sits nested in a solid round aluminum end, in this one there’s about a quarter of it milled out I’m assuming for an easier thumb access since there’s no ridge, to me it just feels off (but that’s just me being nitpicky) All in all for a sub $20 light it’s hard to beat, I can use it at work, beat it up, or even lose it and not feel bad for it. So if you need a good beater light that’s bright or something to keep in a toolbox, glove box, etc. it’s a decent little light for sure, is it a high end flashlight....no. But it is dependable...and with the lithium battery in it you can have it sit for a long while and know it’ll still be at the ready for use when you need it.

Lite it up
My husband got tired of spending a lot of money on the higher end brands, only to have them crap out and stop working. These Eveready lights are reasonably priced, extremely bright, and several different modes depending on your needs. It runs on CR123 batteries, which have a long storage life. We bought one for each of our trucks. They get tested occasionally, and so far, so good. Even if one gets destroyed or lost, you don't need a second mortgage to replace it.

One of the best flashlights you can buy
I've got 8 of these flashlights (tac-700). Two are mounted on weapons, one on a 12 gauge, one on a .223. Both have held up with no issues. It has handled the recoil of more than 200 3" self defense loads in the 12ga, and it has handled being dropped, banged against the wall, inclement weather, and general wear and tear from monthly tactical training on the .223. The other 6 are spread between glove boxes in the cars, nightstands, and desk drawers. The lights in the glove boxes have handled extreme cold and extreme hot temperatures with no problems and no noticeable degradation of battery life, and the one on the night stand has handled toddlers snatching it up and hurling it across the room, putting it in their mouths, and other toddler torture which has ended lesser lights in the past. The tail switch on each of my lights is firm enough to prevent accidental activation, yet soft enough to be easily activated with desired, and they have a good, quality tactile feel. The size is pretty much perfect. It's large enough to fit comfortably in the hand and allows for a firm grip even in larger hands, but small and light enough to not be cumbersome, even when mounted to a rifle. The tac-700 is extremely bright at its full setting, and at its lowest, it's soft enough to not cause eye pain after waking up in the middle of the night. By default, you get the brightest setting first, and then have to click to get to the lower lumen settings. It would be nice to be able to program it to come on at the lowest setting first or program out the stupid strobe mode, but at under $20, you can't fault it for not having the features of an $80 competitor. The tac-700 model uses CR123a batteries, which is what allows the light to last 2 hours at its full brightness setting (actually, almost 2.5 hours according to my testing with 2 different lights using Streamlight batteries). While some might complain about this "non-standard" battery, they are easily available at most large retail stores these days, and of course, can always be ordered here on Amazon, so there's really no reason to complain about it. All in all, this is probably the best value for money flashlight I've found. While it lacks some features of superior lights, such as the ability to program the "clicks" beyond the default settings, it's just as good at just being a flashlight, and will be more than sufficient for pretty much anyone. Stop over thinking it and buy two of them right now (you always need an extra flashlight).

Better torches available at this price point.
Well constructed but you can’t adjust the beam which lets it down badly.

Very bright, well built, wish light outputs were more gradual - EDIT
I bought this because I wanted a flashlight that used 123 battery cells as I have a box of them sitting around with no other use for them. The max output mode is plenty bright, but the run time is short on it, well under 2 hours so I bought it planning on using it in medium most of the time. Using MAX only occasionally when needed. Too bad there was no detailed description like you get with the other flashlights I have purchased where they tell you the various modes output lumen and run time... This one had no such description. Now that I have it I must admit I'm a bit disappointed that the medium mode is about 25% of the the light output of max and low is maybe at best 10% at first sight I was disappointed in this light variance, but on the job, I find that the second setting is still plenty bright to do most of my work and I even use the low often when I am doing close up work, so I was off-put at first, but it turns out it's exactly what I needed! All that said, the build quality is very good, It comes with a belt clip, but no laniard. following having used it for a number of jobs, I can safely say now that I'm very happy with it! Hint: I've learned using it for a while now that it always turns on in the max setting, so if you plan on using it in medium or low, the trick is to push the power button just enough for it to turn on without locking the button into place, then release and repeat until you get to the level or mode you want and when you are there continue to push the button all the way in until it locks! Way easier and probably will help the switch last longer than to be clicking it on and off a few times every time you want to use it! Let me know if this was helpful!

Battery Monster...no rechargeable CR123 available for this version.
What I liked: TAC-700 is bright! Works as described. Disliked, it a battery pit! There are no CR123 rechargeable batteries available for this. Standard CR123 (CR123a, correct type name & same thing) are 3 volts per battery. This same size rechargeable version, is only available (RCR123) in 3.6v or 3.7v. This voltage would potentially permanently damage de LED/blow it! No way to know or find out, because actual specification of the flashlight is not available. I strongly do not recommend trying it! Unless someone has already and it works, and should share the info here. Lesson learned the hard way and I don't recommend these flashlights at all...“Not efficient and definitely not environmentally friendly” However, there is the rechargeable version, which I would definitely recommend instead of the non-rechargeable version...BUT how long does the battery actually last...hopefully better than using reg batteries... Energizer, you can do better! Environmentally & more efficient battery replacement designs! This version is designed to consume/buy more non environmental batteries...

Real Nice Flashlight But Poor Belt Clip
I ordered this flashlight for hunting with and I like to carry my light on my belt. Unfortunately it didn't take long to learn that the clip for a belt on this light is a very poor design and it doesn't take any pressure to knock the light out of the clip. You could easily loose the light without even knowing it. It is a good quality light and I do like it; although I need to practice more to move from one mode to another. I would not recommend this to anyone who might rely on carrying this on a belt.
