Perfect for me

In my opinion, this particular item is a "to each his/her own" type of item. It has many features that will either be why you love it or why you hate it. I am currently using this paper holder to store all of my paper scraps, color coded to keep my OCD happy and under control. The paper holder works just fine on my shelf among other items and does not tip over, but that is because it is propped between them. It is beautiful and has plenty of compartments. It is expandable so I can stuff it if I need to or shrink it down to fit my space/shelf/needs. The graphic design is lovely and I do prefer it to something more plain even if I only see it when I take it off the shelf to actively use it. I like that the dividers are transparent so I can see across different sections. I like that the ends are sturdy and look like they will hold up well to moderate use. Because of this I think it is perfect for my needs. Now for the bad. I do realize this item does not stand well on its own. It will fall over from time to time and everything inside will tend to topple out. If you know this ahead of time you can just make sure not to leave it where that would happen. I am not sure how this item can keep its other wonderful qualities and still be sturdy enough to stand up straight when not stuffed full. I think expecting that might be expecting a little too much. However it is annoying to have to pick stuff up on those occasions you forget to make sure it is being supported. If you are planning to use this for business or for frequent use, I cannot attest to how well the plastic will hold up to constant use. I do not use this item all that often and it seems just fine and pretty sturdy to me. I hope this helps some in making a decision about this item. Good luck!

this is for stickers .. not heavy items

When I saw this I was extremely happy to find something I could store my stickers in. I had my stickers in 3 drawers but that wasn't cutting it.. I was having to go through a pile to get what I wanted and in meantime I was losing stickers since there was no good place to store them. I did see the binders but that wouldn't work for me either.. not without having a huge binder for the bigger sheets of stickers. So I loaded up this handy thing and there it is.. awesome holder for stickers. I even ordered another one for my sticker booklets. The only thing I don't like about it is that will take table top space and I will have to find a home for them. But overall, definitely a good solution. And as I said in the headline .. not for use with magazines, books, 2 inches or more of paper (actually, there are acrylic stadium containers that are similar but more sturdy for 12x12 papers and those you can hang on the walls if you want. Plus, I love the paisley .. its pretty and looks a bit elegant.

Does the job

Used for my 12x12 paper. Not as sturdy as I would have liked but does the job. Keeps the paper neat and tidy and allows it to stand without curling.

This is a very nice Cropper Hopper. I have never had one before and when I saw it on Amazon for the low price I knew I needed to buy it. I'm using it to hold my Card Stock Paper and Paint Card Swatches. It works Great and I have more room then I need! There are 9 slots like it says and shows in the description and arranged from top to bottom like Stadium Seating. Smaller in front and Wide and Larger in the back. All the slots are very wide, stretchy and easily expandable. You can really put a lot of things in each of the spaces. The plastic is also very sturdy and well made, so I have no fear of it tearing. A nice added feature is the extra open area in front that is large enough to also store stickers or paper. The Cropper stands up straight and sits flat on a shelf. The pretty black and white leaf decoration is flat and smooth on both sides and can be easily colored in with markers or colored pencils. The only Con I give it is.... Mine came with a minor off-smell on the front area ( like it had been in the plastic bag for to long) and after over a month of sitting open on my shelf it still has not gone away. It's not a bad yucky strong smell like you get from products from China, but it still smells a little off for some reason to me. I did have my mother smell it and she can't smell anything wrong with it. She has a Great nose for sniffing out the (China Smell.) Maybe it was just in the one I got. Over All... I think it is a Great addition to anyone's Craft space and sold at a Super Good Price. If I ever need a second one I will definitely buy it again! :)

Very good organizational tool

I purchased two of these for my stickers and other small paper-crafting embellishments. The black and white portion is stiff with what seems to be a vinyl-coated fabric cover and grosgrain ribbon trim. The expandable pockets are a medium-weight clear plastic. I put the small packets into the shallower pockets in the front and the larger packets towards the back. Pretty much everything is visible, which is just what I need -- if I can't see it, I'm not likely to use it. The description states that it expands to 8 inches, but it actually will expand further, maybe to as much as 10 inches, without, it seems to me, damaging the unit. I do want to comment on what another reviewer said -- she said she takes hers to classes (when it's loaded up). The package label actually says that the unit is designed for desk-top use and should not be carried around when it's full. And, I would agree with that -- there is no support under the clear plastic pockets and one can see that they are not designed to hold heavy weight without external support. The two I have probably will give me sufficient room but, should I need even more, I would not hesitate to buy additional ones (based on my limited history with these -- I've had them for just a couple of weeks so far).

Pretty but flimsy

It is quite attractive and holds lots but it is not very sturdy and I worry the plastic will crack or split if I’m not careful when moving it.
