My favorite

When you want an eyeline that stays on for hours, goes on with a brush, lasts in the pot for months. This is it. You have to use your own brush but I have a few that give me thick and thin eyelashes. I bought this once and I’ll do it again.

Disappointed...

After reading so many rave reviews and comments about the smudge pot (not to mention I do like Stila as a brand), I am so disappointed in the smudge pot. I have and also have tried so many gel eye liners, too many to count, and I'm still looking for the holy grail of gel liners. I have found several I do like, but none that I love (except an old Laura Mercier one but even that one didn't stay on). The closest I've gotten is The Creme Shop's gel pot liner, but that one is discontinued. This one doesn't go on smooth and when I'm finished it looks like a child did my eyeliner and I was a makeup artist for 12 years! It's too thick to control and its very slippery so your hand moves all over. I know a lot of people like it so I guess you might too, but imo it's below average and for $20 you expect a bit more. I would recommend purchasing it from somewhere that allows returns if you really want to try it.

Really solid eyeliner

I found this through a youtube review. While the packaging isn't impressive, the liner itself is great. I've worn eyeliners for over 20 years now and this is one of my favorites. It doesn't smudge easily, stays on all day long, and is easy to apply. I do have to take care to not go back with very many strokes during application, as it does start to set in a few minutes, and we all know that can cause clumping and consistency issues with further application. So touchups can be a little tricky, but are totally doable with a quick wipe-down and re-apply. I don't have much experience with this and durability while swimming, but it's held fine in surprise rainstorms and is still fairly on after a quick face wash. I've had some dry out after not properly screwing the top back on, but that's to be expected. When I close it properly, the product lasts pretty much until I've used almost all of it.

Precise Application

I absolutely love this product. With smudge pot and a flat eyeliner brush, I'm able to apply a wing much more precisely than with standard liners. I apply setting powder (Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder) to it with an eyeshadow brush and I'm good to go for the whole day/night. People always comment on my liner and I recommend it to everyone. It does dry out after a number of months, but I just get a new one then - it's not a deal breaker for me because it lasts for a long time before that happens.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - So Smooth, So Gentle to Apply

So terrific! Too often, in my experience at least, the contents in eye shadow smudge pits is a bit on the dry side. I've had to use pressure with my finger to get the product out of the pot and adhered to my finger -- worse still, in application it tends to skip and bunch when trying to transfer what I collected onto my finger and am now trying to "smooth" (smooth? Hardly) in a gliding stroke to eyelid. What a pleasant surprise I had using the Stila smudge pot eye shadows! The mere touch of my finger to the contents of the smudge pot put just the right amount of the very moist and creamy color onto my finger, and from there, simply and gently glide my finger ((no tugging) across my eyelid. Such a pleasant experience, and with practice, I've gotten even better in my application attempts for an ever more professional look. Syria's smudge pot eye shadows are THEE BEST! Will NEVER AGAIN use any other brand of smudge pot eye shadow. Stila's formula outclassed ALL other brands!

After three years of Pinterest "how-to" posts, and buzzfeed makeup fail videos, I have arrived at achieving the ultimate "Cleopatra meets Prada runway" winged look with Stila's noir smudge pot. I have graduated from the felt-tipped marker-esque liquid liners, into the slightly more classy liquid noir pot and makeup brush echelons. This product is pretty amazing, though ostensibly overpriced, at least compared to its drugstore counterparts that don't always deliver. And, I'd happily fork out the extra 5-10 dollars to look like a pre-Richard Burton Elizabeth Taylor. It's also important to note that it did take me three years to achieve the winged look without my liquid liner pen, but it was well worth the trial and error period. Overall, if I was on a deserted island and could only pack four (because, come on, one isn't enough) go-to beauty products, I would pack Stila's smudge pot, a fine tipped makeup brush, Paw Paw lip balm, and Tarte's 24-hr foundation.

Really great eyeliner, if you're going to smudge it though be sure to move quick cause this sets rock solid in seconds... So I never do the smudgy thing personally, but yeah, good stuff, exactly what I wanted!!! Perfect shade of actual brown, not black brown or a nasty murky brown and no shimmer either, totally matte :)

Kitten is a very pretty shimmery pale gold shade, I use it as an eyeshadow base as it shows through to give a nice shimmer to any shadow you wear over it.

Strong colour

Really strong colour, the only downside is that you have to be really accurate putting it on as the tiniest wobble shows up. Really great product, I would definitely buy it again.
