Exactly like my old one!!
I have small wrists ... and I had a wrist brace that was long overdue for a replacement. When you just like something ... you like something. This is so similar to my old one!! So hard to find wrist braces that don't go half way up my arm. The 6 inch version is great!!! If you need one longer they also have an 8 inch version. I could easily slide my metal split from my old one into the new one so it was a totally seamless transition. Almost tempted to buy another one so when this one wear out in 20 yrs I don't have to struggle like I have been trying to find a replacement.

A REAL thumbhole hole that is designed to comfortably fit one's hand!!!
I injured my forearm which required a visit to the Emergency Department for stitches. The hospital provided a really nice wrist splint to immobilize my wrist to aid in minimizing stress to the cut/stitches, but since my hands can get quite dirty in my line of work I wanted a second wrist splint to wear outside of work. Which started me an a trek to find a wrist splint at least similar to the one provided by the hospital. I'm a guy, and my hands are above average in size. I can fit into XL (size 10) gloves, but I prefer XXL gloves for a comfortable fit. The problem I found with almost every splint I looked at is that they all had a SMALL CIRCULAR hole for the thumb! There was almost no thought put into how one's thumb fits through the splint...at an angle, and all the way to the palm of one's hand...which means a more oblong and much LARGER hole is needed so that the splint can fit snugly and COMFORTABLY! Between three pharmacies, and a large general store, and three brands from Amazon I looked at 9 models before getting this OTC brand...and I finally found a winner! This OTC splint has an ergonomic cut/shape to it that actually fits the shape of the base of my thumb and allows a comfortable snug fit of the splint. Save yourself some time and frustration and get this brand. By the way, I paid for the splint I have and have not been compensated in any manner for this review. Like most, I typically don't write reviews but after having to try so many different brands before finding one that actually provided a good and comfortable fit I wanted to share my experience in the hopes of saving others from the same hassle.

Look Elsewhere
I went by the size chart at the bottom that says from the manufacturer. I should have gone with the different numbers listed in the description at the top. I bought the medium after measuring my wrist, and it is SO wide that even with the cheap velcro pulled tight it was too big. Also, I have a different brand wrist split for my other arm that looked the same as the picture, but my 8" splint (labeled as such on the tag) is 2" longer than this one. Also, mine is thick material and very sturdy, like medical grade, and this was thin, cheap and like you might get at a local drugstore cheaper than this. Beware: it is non-returnable, so it will be going into a donation bin somewhere.

Perfect for my needs.
Perfect for my needs. I realize it says youth, but I have smaller hands and the length was perfect. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my dominant hand late in the summer and my Dr said I should be mostly healed by the time school starts. That was not the case and I was still on weight restrictions. I purchased this because I work with aggressive children and didn't want them hitting my still healing hand without some protection. Worked perfectly to help protect it when they hit/threw things at me.

Comfortable and exactly like Dr. supplied
I broke both wrists. The doctor gave me one for my left hand, and when we discovered the right was busted I bought this one online because it was easier than getting back in to his office to pick one up (thank you Amazon Prime!). It is identical in terms of materials and construction to what the doctor (a hand surgeon) provided for the left. Must have rolled out of the same Chinese factory. There is a thin sock-like thing that you slip your hand through, for comfort. On the inside there is some pretty thick and soft padding that makes wearing more comfortable. There is a padded thing like a small cuff around the finger opening, to keep your thumb from getting rubbed the wrong way. When my hand hurt like $##$( the splint was a welcome place to rest it. Now that it's feeling better, it's not exactly comfortable but it's not bad. The velcro straps are very firm and have never slipped loose. You can trim the ends so they don't flop around, just don't do it too tightly too soon or you might trim too much (easy to do). The metal reinforcement is a solid 1.25" thick or more, but it's also easy to shape and mold. If you need one of these, it's great. No brainer.

Saving Brace!
This breathable wrist splint with metal insert is my "saving brace". I have a ganglion cyst in my right wrist which acts up a lot and causes great discomfort (I am an Administrative Assistant so my wrist comfort is highly important to my career), and I was recommended this wrist splint by my orthopedic doctor to keep my wrist in a comfortable and supported position. My first splint of this type lasted me a couple of years after almost constant wear so I know it's sturdy. I purchased this exact same wrist splint (to replace my old one here on Amazon.com) at half the price compared to the doctor's office. I wear this at night and during the day as needed. Even in the summertime the fabric is breathable just like advertised. Great, too, for those people who sleep with their hands curled under their face at night . . . this splint keeps your wrist in a healthy position during sleep. An A+ product.

Good, comfortable, reliable and durable brace.
This is a very good quality wrist guard/stabilizer. This is the second one of these I have owned. I developed some ulna nerve damage and this was part of my solution to help it heal. I wore this every day, all day (except sleeping), and it did see a lot of use. It would get dirty and I had not much issue washing it. With heavy use, I believe they lasted me about 6 months. It was comfortable, as it is going to be, to wear. I do like that the length of this product along the arm is a little longer than some. This helps keep it stabilized better without digging into your arm. I would definitely recommend this product.

Quality splint, especially post-surgery
This is a quality little splint. But it is LITTLE. I'm 5'6 and 145 pounds and even though this said XS, I was surprised when it came that it was so small. I'm comparing it to the one the hospital gave me after I broke my wrist (which I then lost). This one has a smaller "wrist bump" which makes me wonder if it's too small, but functionally it seems to work the same. The velcro is also really long so you can make it pretty loose if you want. I really like that it felt soft and didn't chafe in the thumb crease. I hunted on amazon and this was the best option I found so I think even if it is a tad small, it's a good bet. The material is clearly good quality, and the side panels feel like they are filled with this comfortable "jelly." Wish I had it right after the surgery when I was still sore as I think they softness really would make a difference. In the picture you can see the small raised wrist bump. The long velcro can easily be cut shorter than it is here.

Probably a very good product for people with wider wrist
Probably a very good product for people with wider wrist, not that good in X-small. My wrists are 4.6 in.. It's extremely hard to get a good wrist splint for me in Canada. I bought this splint in XS. The straps are toooooooooooo long. There is no way to stick the super long extra length back to the splint. So I got a splint with three extra-super-long straps loosely waving around, like below: | my | | wrist|≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ ( ←extra-super-long-straps that can not paste back to the splint.) | with |≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ |splint|≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ It looks obvious to me that the producer did not adjust the strap length to fit XS splint. I don't recommend you buy XS. I'll recommend it if you need L, because other than the strap problem, the splint is well-shaped and of good quality.
