All round deal
The shape is what hooked me on this particular sponge. Fits so nicely in my hand. Next is the cleaning power. Does a bang up job. Finally is the cost. Fantastic price. Very affordable.

I keep coming back to the official Scotch-Brite sponges
Every time I get a different sponge, I regret it. Others just doesn't have the texture, absorbancy, or ability to pick up items when using. These don't get bacteria as easily either.

Excellent
I used to use theocelo No Scratch Scrub Sponge, 6-Count (Pack of 2) . I liked them, but Amazon stopped offering them and the third-party vendors want a ridiculous amount of money for them so I switched to these Scotch-Brites, which I find to be just as effective and much more economical. They fit the hand well, but tend to be a little stiff owing to the thick and durable "scrubby" part. That's a good trade-off though, because they can take on any burnt on mess with just a bit of "elbow grease." They are as non-scratch as the manufacturer claims. I use them on my Calphalon and Anolon non-stick pots and pans and they cause no damage whatsoever. I also use them on the removable ceramic plates of my George Foreman Grill. As those plates age, they are losing their non-stick properties but I can still get them clean with these sponges and without damaging the remaining coating. I see that a number of recent reviews complain about the sponges having a bad smell. I have not experienced this problem. In fact, they have no smell even after using. I bought mine in May of 2015.

Depill yes, scour well? Meh.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This sponge looks exactly like the NO SCRATCH sponge selection, here: http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Brite-Heavy-Scrub-Sponge-Count/dp/B0055O2A3G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1416529956&sr=8-3&keywords=3M+Scotch+Brite+Heavy+Duty . So now I'm confused. Shape is a plus; it's easier to use because it's shaped like an S. However, I was able to successfully use the scrubber side of the sponge to depill (sorta) my heavy acrylic coat, which to me is the litmus test of a non-scratch scrubber. You swat the fabric with the scrubber side, somewhat sliding it at the same time, see if only the pills stick to it, and if the fabric thus 'treated', regains loft. That MILDLY happened here (the 3M heavy duty scourer does the best depill job on heavy acrylic, right up there with plastic velcro rollers, forget 'sweater stones' and those electric contraptions). So if all else fails, I can use that side for depilling, thinner fabrics. Makes a good soap dish, the meanwhile. Will test this claim further, and if I find a better usage, will correct this review. The sponge side is real cellulose, so it's at least half good. You can put these in the silverware basket of your dishwasher, to sterilize and freshen them. My other sponges lasted for YEARS that way, and still work just fine, but look embarrassing. No smell, even after maybe what -- 6+ years? Dang, I wish they weren't blue. Gonna go buy some heavy-duty 3M's, now.

Wonderfully disposable
I think these sponges do a great job. The scrubby side does a good job without being too scratchy on my pans, stove top or counters. They hold up to microwave sanitizing. I haven't noticed any strange smell coming from them. They don't leave any residue on your dishes. Really they're pretty good. They're pretty light and hold together for about a week or two. I see some complaints about this, but honestly, let's talk about replacing your kitchen sponges. They're a breeding ground for germs. You can keep them going for a while by microwaving them after each use, but really, you shouldn't keep them around very long anyway. These sponges are a great compromise- especially if you get them on subscribe and save. They're inexpensive, so you don't feel bad throwing them out... and really, you should probably do it more often anyway.

These work well for dishes but are terrible for cleaning the house
These work pretty good for hand-washing dishes as you can use the abrasive side for scrubbing dried or stuck-on food without fear of damaging your kitchenware and then switch to the sponge side for more delicate operations. They'll hold up okay and as long as you don't leave them full of nasty water overnight (where they end up with a nasty smell that won't go away), one scrub sponge should last about a month with moderate use. I will agree with other reviewers though and say that they used to last longer. I'm not sure what 3M changed about them but they have lost some of their durability. Finally, I would recommend NOT using these for cleaning floors, especially tile with grout. The blue color will impart onto your grout (it can be wiped off with the sponge side or a rag but it's a PITA) and will leave a film of blue dust all over your floor as the abrasive side breaks down.

Useful dual sponge that works well for me
I've bought these sponges a lot in the store and got some in bulk now from Amazon. I like them. I didn't notice a weird chemical smell like the other reviewers. I have not noticed a dye bleed, either. It does make me wonder about quality control that reviewers are having these issues. That said, I like the dual sided aspect and these clean well. I usually toss out sponges after a couple weeks (and nuke them for 2 minutes daily to kill some germs), so buying in bulk is helpful to keep fresh sponges around. A good sponge.
