chlorine removal for shower and bathwater
The filter is well designed and attaches easily. It arrived promptly and was adequately packed. I have not had any problems purchasing from Amazon over the last ten years or so. The delivery service for this device, and one additional shipment of the same shower filter I forgot in the first order, arrived on time with a knock at the door letting me know they were there. This was pleasing because of other previous reviews that caused me a little concern. Without fresh chlorine test pouches for my digital test device , I cannot accurately determine the level of chlorine before and after filtration. Test kits from companies like Leslie Pool might be sensitive enough in making a valid test though I dont think the results would be reliable. Those kits are for much higher levels of chlorine needed in swimming pools and spas More sophisticated devices that give an accurate analysis at very low chlorine levels are required but are too expensive for the average consumer. I ran across several independent sites that have done tests and they put these filters high on their list of effective filtration units when compared with competitive filters. They did not specify their test methods or equipment, which should be done when making claims that affect a company's product. My rating would have been 5 stars if I had personally done chlorine tests with my low level chlorine detection test device and new test pouches--- and duplicated those posted on other websites--by "duplicated" I mean a relative comparison where one is said to be better than another and no actual numerical data given. I dont think the average person can make an accurate claim regarding tap water chlorine unless their local water company is doing an abnormally large injection which might happen if there was an equipment malfunction. When I was a young man, I challenged friends who made grandiose claims regarding the best beer and cigarette. I set up tests to see if they were able to tell the difference. None of them could tell me which beer they were drinking or which cigarette they were smoking when given samples from 6 different brands. The occasional correct answer was more a tentative guess and all their adamant claims of certainty changed noticeably. I suspect the Placebo Effect comes into play when reviews claim a noticeable difference in water quality based on how they "feel" after taking a shower or a bath. I cannot tell any difference in smell or feel when it comes to analyzing before and after water quality regarding this filter installation, but being above age 65 my senses have dulled. I was unable find any independent labs like Consumer Reports who had test results for this filter, though I did not do a lot of searching. The filter should be removed while waiting for hot water to arrive. This is easy to do and will lengthen filter life. The same is true for the shower model. If no tub exists then an additional portable shower head can be installed in front of the filter so water can be bypassed until it gets hot. My hot water heater is at the opposite end of the house so several gallons are wasted waiting for hot water. I have been been considering several ways of running this water outside to use for plants. Point of use water heaters are probably the best but are generally time consuming and/or expensive for installation of good units. If one makes the assumption these filters work, and I suspect they do, then it makes sense to install them. Companies dont normally stay in business selling snake-oil or magical medical devices. Exposure usually occurs somewhere down the line and they cease operation. This filter manufacturer sells devices outside the United States. Having been involved in the sale of hi-tech equipment in European countries, I know closer scrutiny occurs, false claims detected often resulting in import rejection. I should also say I do not know what level of chlorine is harmful when exposed to the skin. If chlorinated water from the tap is detrimental, then entering a swimming pool or spa is something to strongly consider. One hour in a swimming pool would equal many showers or baths. I am older than 70, taken many showers, and have been in many swimming pools, so have been exposed to a very large amount of chlorine. I stay in touch with several high school friends with a similar background and their health is generally good too. However, my wife has severe lung issues and I think exposure to strong chlorine cleaning solutions may be part of the cause--but do not know for sure. As our environment is continually changing, it makes sense to beware of what can harm us and anything that can be done to minimize bad health effects on my wife, our grandchildren and great grandchildren should be done-- and is why I purchased these filters. The possible benefits seem to justify the cost If it helps me so much the better

This is a hard review. Soo....
*One important thought to keep in mind when buying this, is how bad your tap water is to begin with. Where I am in California, the water is very bad. I was just in the PNW and the water there was amazing out of the tab! So keep that in mind* This isn't an easy product to "review", so with that I said I'll try and keep it short and simple. Does it work to make water better? Not sure. I am a water nerd and I constantly test water TDS (ppm) AND PH. Sooo... Guess what I did? I ran water through the bath ball for a good 5 mins as to clean and get the filter "working". I tested the TDS of the water BEFORE and AFTER using the filter. The readings were very close. Does it lower the TDS of the water? I don't think so... But that's just me. Did the water feel "better"? Not really. I am such a water freak I go to Natural Springs and retrieve raw water to drink. Now with that being said, I am not in any way comparing my chappy tap water to raw wild water. The PH of the water with the ball and with out the ball... The PH was .11 lower with the ball. Does it lower the waters PH? Yes... But very VERY minimal. When filling the bath, you do have to keep the water pressure low. We do have high pressure when needed but is no problem, I just turn up the hot a little to compensate for the little more time it takes to fill the tub. No problem. Will I buy a refill for this and keep using it? Maybe, only because where I live the water is so so so beyond bad that putting a sock around the faucet would probably help a lot. So... Somethings better than nothing I suppose. I could live with out it as to me, it didn't really seem to do much after testing the water before and after the filter. I was actually really bummed and felt dooped =( I was hoping to see a better difference in the TDS of the water after the filter. Keep in mind also, this filter is NOT meant to filter water for drinking. I DID THE TDS AND PH TESTING WITH COLE WATER, WA WATER, AND LUKE WARM WATER.

works great to filter water, mounting could be improved
This filter works great for our very hard water with chlorine smell. You do have to throttle down the faucet to prevent overflowing the ball, but I expected this and I think the throttled flow rate is still reasonable (would still take >10 minutes to fill a tub though). We moved to an apartment with no water softener and our toddlers sensitive skin which would occasionally have eczema problems began to get much worse with constant rashes. After the first bath using this filter, skin condition improved dramatically. My only complaint is the mounting. The ball attaches to hooks on the mounting strip, which is velcroed around the faucet. There is also a sticky pad near the back to help it stick under the faucet, but I don't know why they even bothered since anything sticky will not last in a bathtub. I would have preferred something more rigid, like a plastic loop instead of velcro. Since I'm stuck with the velcro, I would have preferred longer loops since it would not fit over the faucet child cover we had. I had to remove the faucet cover which will make it more dangerous for child head injuries, etc. Our kids are old enough by now, but those with babies might want to consider this. The previous review about requiring separate hot/cold faucets requires a little clarification. What they mean is that if your single-handle faucet is the kind that you rotate to go from cold to hot, then you can only throttle with cold water, which would mean you will be stuck with some water overflowing the ball filter when filling hot. If your single-handle faucet is like mine, where you move the handle up/down to control flow and left/right to control temperature, then you will still be able to throttle warm/hot water and this ball filter will work fine for you. Although it does make it a little more challenging to make minor temperature adjustements since you have to be sure not to bump the flow up.

It can't hurt, I guess!
It seems to eliminate some chlorine, but you do need to slow down the bath pressure or else, it will not have time to be filtered and will go overboard. I wish that there was something similar that eliminated more than just chlorine. The price is pretty good compared to another bath ball that I have seen out there. I see it as ''it can't hurt''.

Works great!
I thought it would overflow but its been perfect. It works well, my hair can actually be washed in the bath now without getting greasy. I imagine if I had one of those supercharged taps you find in many deep tubs, though, the water might flow over the sides - at the moment I just have a pretty normal tub with a basic tap.

Does it job to filter the water
I had to build my own attachment to get the water flow 100% in to the filter.

Not worth it
Wasted money : no change when testing with a TDS meter. Also, it takes forever to pour a bath if you don't want water to spill all out (which defeats the purpose). Water will be cold by the time it's done.

Feels great having a tub without chlorine
Loving this product! It was the last piece of my project to reduce chlorine in our house. First, a Berkey water filter, then Berkey shower filters. And, now this Sprite bath ball filter. Feels great having a tub without chlorine!
