I'm a mechanic. These brought my air tools to life.

Definite increase in airflow and performance.
I'm not a professional mechanic who turns a wrench for a living and my air compressor is a 21 gallon, 2.5 HP, 125 psi Central Pneumatic from Harbor Freight that I've had for the past 3 years. I mainly use my air tools for routine maintenance on my cars and yard equipment and my son and his friends use them for their cars. With the exception of a Matco MT1712 1/2 impact gun, all of my other air tools, air fittings and air hoses are Central Pneumatic from Harbor Freight. With that being said, I was never really impressed with the performance of my air tools, however, since I bought them from HF, I wasn't really expecting much. Recently, I needed a new air hose and also decided to change out my hose fittings. I Googled which would be the best hoses and fittings and consistently saw Milton V-Style fittings in my searches. In addition to purchasing the Milton HIGHFLOWPRO S-314VKIT package with couplers and fittings, I bought these because I needed additional male fittings for other air tools and accessories. I had read the reviews regarding durability since these were made from anodized aluminum and wasn't too concerned because I don't really abuse the hoses or fittings. After installing them with Teflon thread tape I had a chance to use an air chisel and air hammer for a project. I could tell right away that the performance was much better. The air chisel was bouncing around a lot and the coupler and fittings were getting a good workout. There was no noticeable damage or defect at all in the fit or finish. Upon using my impact gun I was able to see a definite improvement in performance when trying to remove rusted bolts. These fittings definitely improved performance. I grease the internals of my impact gun regularly and also use an in-line lubricator but was never really satisfied with it until now. I had actually considered upgrading my impact gun to get better performance. The only "down" side to these fittings is that you'll use a lot more air and your compressor will kick on more often. I also bought the steel version of these fittings (Milton S-217) and they work just as well. If you're worried about the durability of the anodized aluminum then that would be your best alternative although they are not purple. The Milton V-Style couplers are backwards compatible with other fittings but you won't get the increased airflow that you get when you have all V-Style fittings and couplers. The V-style fittings WILL NOT mate up to non V-Style couplers. I also use Marvel Mystery Oil to oil all of my air tools and Royal Purple Synthetic compressor oil in my air compressor.

Perfect for the money
These are exactly what I was looking for. I work in a shop and I use these every day and it helps my tools get the most air flow and power that I need to do the job. Just make sure you also change out your quick coupling to a high flow as well or else it will not work. More air means more power, more power means better the job goes. Anything to make your work life a little better. These high flow fittings have been doing a great job for me.

Flow is GREAT!!
I decided to give the V-style a try. When I rec'd the kit I immediately tried blowing through unused I-style... Full lungs, forcing, it took maybe 5 seconds. I then tried blowing though the V-style the same way... took about 1 second and I didn't have to force that much!!! I bought the 20male pack and the combo pack. To insert the male into the coupler takes an easy push, not necessary to pull the release!! And this is under full pressure!! Disconnect is just as easy, but, I'm not worried about accidental disconnects. Another thing that will be helpful when considering this style... I am going through my system for choke points. I found that the main reel hose ID is smaller than these connectors. Good thing is, I still have the original fat rubber hose that came with the reel. But, I still have points from the tank to the reel that have small IDs. Just keep this in mind when changing over to V-style. Otherwise, the ease of use and the flow are great!!! I cannot determine yet if the durability is great... but considering that the males are aluminum, I would assume that steel or brass would hold up better... but then again, I don't beat the crud out of my tools...

Not durable - Would not recommend
These couplers look pretty in the box, but they deform quickly when used. Save yourself the hassle and buy brass or steel so you wont have to replace them. The V style is great though, the air flow rate is amazing.

Perfect For Home or Light Shop Use
These fittings seem to make a difference in air tool performance with tools that need a lot of air. Intermittent use tools make it hard to tell. As long as you have 3/8" hose or better, these will make a good addition. I don't think they will take a lot of abuse over the long term as they are lighter fittings. In a shop, you might have to change them out on an occasion, but that's just my speculation. For occasional home use, they should last. In my opinion, why worry if you can buy 20 extra fittings at less than a dollar each?

Nice Look And Flow, But Soft Aluminum Is Not Durable.
These fittings have good flow and look nice, but have worn out very quickly in tools that cause the fittings to swivel. The aluminum is just too soft. Going back to Milton's steel fittings.

Amazing quality for the $$$
These are awesome fittings!!! I switched all my tools and stuff out with these fittings. They provide way more air and seem of decent quality essentially for the price! They are real lightweight so we'll see how fast they wear down but so far there doing good! Oh yeah the finish or color on them seem better then most I've tried as far as rubbing or scratching off, but if not somewhat gentle while tightening with tools it can scratch but nowhere near as bad as others. For the price I paid for a box of 20, if I can get a year out of 1 I'll continue to buy new 20pks of them lol I've put them through a short but somewhat ruff period of using in my shop and so far I don't see me having an issue getting at least a years use out of 1 if not more but I'm certain I'll at least get that long and that's using 4 or 5 days week for around the house projects and personal automobile stuff. For a normal garage type of use only being used a handful of times a month you probably wouldn't have to replace them for many years

Best fitting type
The "V" style fittings flow wise are about as good as it gets. Major bonus is that you can still stuff your "M" fittings into the V couplers. Of course you don't get the air flow gain, but at least they fit. Wife loves the color of these. That's important. ;) The only thing I don't like about these is that they're aluminum - so be careful you don't put a tool down hard or you might dent them. No way you'll get 20 of them in brass for this price though.

Light duty
I knew this before ordering but I still wanted to give it a try these fittings are made out of aluminum they are extremely high flow and better flow then my other V fittings but they are made out of aluminum they are meant for stationary applications or non-percussive tools when I installed it on my impact gun and pneumatic hammer chisel They instantly started leaking when I took them out I noticed that the balls inside the connector had dug into the fittings I later installed the web or used my steel fittings for impact tools

Absolutely TERRIBLE for commercial work.
These Milton quick connect fittings, "highflowpro", are absolutely garbage. I have them in my commercial mechanic garage for the past month and they have started leaking. These fitting are made of aluminum which makes them soft. The coupler that these pair with are made of half aluminum and half steel, the balls inside the coupler are made of steel with dig into the aluminum and wear out the male fittings that go into the coupler.

Highflow but the aluminum is soft.
They are high flow but the aluminum is soft. If you drop your tool (by accident) or toss it around (they way the average mechanic would) the aluminum will chip and deform and then leak.

Nice quality fittings with better flow then regular ones.
Nice quality fittings with better flow then regular ones. Easy attach/detach accessories. Good deal for the price (~$16CDN) May not last as long as steel ones but for a home shop should be great...
