For the price, it's a ridiculous purchase

Sure they are well insulated, and they feel good in the hand, but as far as sturdiness I was expecting a lot more for the ridiculous price I paid. If you squeeze too hard when stripping the depth gauge will bend. Also the cutting jaws don't even perfectly overlap. There is about a 0.1mm gap between the cutting jaws when they are closed; enough to see daylight through. This means you will have to pull harder than you should to strip the wire, and if you are working on live wires, that could be your life on the line. I paid the ridiculously high price to get the BEST, not some crappy low tolerance piece of junk. Also annoying, there is no way to lock them closed, so they will just bounce around in your tool bag and get dull, as other hardened steel tools bounce around on the cutting edges. This also means that when in your tool belt, they will get caught on loose wires, studs, edges of equipment, doorknobs, ladders, your coworkers, etc. The only thing I regret more than buying this is buying the extended warranty on my car that ran out 3 months ago and I never used.

The best strippers I have used

These strippers are great and have earned a permanent place in my tool bag. They take a little practice, but they have become my “go to” strippers. I am professional service electrician and I have used many different types and brands of stripper over the years, and these Knipex wire strippers are the best yet.

These rock I do a lot of live circuit work on high voltage these are awesome. I will admit it took me about a week to really get a eel for them but after I did it was as they say ON

Excellent quality, definitely recommend.

Have not used them much yet, but was the most versatile type so I got it, I’m in building maintenance/plumbing, so not doing a lot of electrical, we have a department for that, so in case of a water heater install or something I have them.

Very nice!

These have the dual material insulation that is both safe and comfortable. The edges are nice and sharp. And, importantly, there is good feedback and a smooth pivot. I don't need to keep adjusting them; you can normally just push enough by feel, then rip the insulation off. Very nice.

Great wire stripper.

I have a few different wire strippers, but this one is able to strip thinner wires than any of them. I was easily able to strip wires thinner than 1 millimeter. It is well made and insulated to 1000V, however, I don't recommend stripping live wires. The insulation does make it very comfortable to hold though. In any case I think it's worth every penny.

Like any other Knipex pliers: Superior quality. Not recommended for regular use (won't replace typical wire strippers)

Pretty much what's pictured. I don't see myself using it more than 1% of the time I strip wires at work since the american styled ones are much simpler and don't require you to adjust when encountering different wire sizes. 5 stars because i knew what I was getting myself into.

Had a similar one made in England. Broke them a few years ago and missed them ever since. These are good for working in tight corners or for short wires where you have to pull straight on. Adjusting for wire gauge takes some practice. Once you do saves time in cutting and stripping. Use this daily in trade. Only downfall is the English brand were tighter and stay closed when squeezed. Also the adjuster could fall out as it does not have a stop .

Pay the extra 50 & get the electrician pliers with the stripper 12/14 AWG & the stripping sheer. I think they should tap the ottom half so the screw mabobber can screw into the other side and close.

so so got all the knipex tools but these mark the wires so not too impressed. Still nice to have tho
