Day 01 Review: Will Update Later if Necessary

***Update On Review*** This chair has without a doubt been one of the best purchases I ever made on Amazon. It was the first piece of furniture I purchased that was not "budget" -- I bought it because I had gained a lot of weight and fell outside the OSHA guidelines for most economy model purchases. I'm happy to say I've lost a lot of weight. I'm even happier to say that the chair has been excellent. Build, durability, comfort, and quality have all remained exceptional. If this chair breaks, I would replace it with the same item if I could. I'm a very large guy -- 5'11", 275 pounds, with a broad build. I'm 37 and probably won't be able to get much smaller in my middle age, so I decided to invest in a chair that would be worth sitting in when working from home. I did my research and considered multiple options. I reviewed several items after browsing the web and came to Amazon after reviewing suggestions from bigandtallfurniture dot com. This chair was the best balance of price and accommodation on their recommendation list. I just received this chair and let me tell you that it already appears to be a gamechanger. Previously, I have only ever purchased budget office chairs from big box stores (so if you're a good chair connoisseur YMMV). This was the first time I decided to pay premium dollar for an office chair, and the difference over those $60-100 chairs available from Target is already clear. First of all, the dimensions are much more comfortable. My previous two office chairs from a big box store were each 18" long by 19.5" wide. This chair is 22" long by 22" wide. That is a significant amount of extra real estate and it is noticeable immediately. This is the first office chair I've owned that actually gives me wide enough room to sit comfortably. I can even sit cross-legged in this chair although I have to do have lotus position (one leg on top of the other). This chair is definitely wider than a standard airline seat, for reference. Next up, I am a fan of the build. The chair components are much heavier than their budget counterparts from a big box store. The chair feels sturdy and substantial after construction. It is certainly a weightier chair and I feel like it will easily support me. The mesh back will also cool more easily than a bonded leather back will. Now to the features. Like a budget office chair, this has an adjustable height. Unlike budget office chairs, this has a thick cushion, adjustble armrests (height AND width), and adjustable lumbar support. The lumbar support is a nice touch that didn't factor in my decision but I already suspect will be a welcome addition. Construction was easy If you can lift 50 pounds. I used the box as a platform for attaching the arms, back, and base to the seat cushion. It required screwing in 16 total allen wrench bolts and that was the step that took the longest, but all of the slots lined up well and the provided allen wrench was big enough to make screwing relatively easy. I am excited to own this chair. I am looking forward to frequent daily use, at least until I can go back to in-person teaching in Fall 2021. If any components break or deteriorate, I will update. But I'm cautiously optimistic that this chair will satisfy my needs for a few years to come. Here's hoping!

Rock solid chair with a great warranty.

This is a very comfortable chair for bigger people. I'm 6 ft 5 in tall and weight in the neighborhood of 300 lbs. This chair supports me very comfortable with the arms that can be positioned closer or farther away from the seat. The lumbar support is also very handy. The only thing I wish is that you could slide the seat back and forwards with respect to the back. I have owned this chair now for 1.5 years and the cylinder did stop working for me. It would always go down to the lowest setting. However the awesome lifetime warranty on the cylinder paid off in full. I emailed the Warranty Inquiry email address and within a week I have my new cylinder installed and it's just like brand new.

Great chair for us "big" guys.

So I waited a year and a half of using this chair before this review. I bought it at the first height of the COVID-19 outbreak (April 2020) because I knew I'd be working from home a LONG time. It is now January 2022. Sigh. I weigh about 325lbs and have a lousy back so finding something with decent support was important. This was my investment from the very first covid stimulus and it was worth it! I'm also 6'2" and the adjustable height on this allows a perfect height of the chair for me. I can keep my knees at 90degs with nice flat feet on ground if I choose. I have been using it DAILY for 8+ hours every weekday and on and off on the weekends for 18 months straight. It has held up PERFECTLY. I work EXCLUSIVELY from this chair and I'm a software engineer so I'm on my computer the full 8+ hours a day. The mesh back is nice and supportive and allows good airflow so being in it for two 4 hours stints (a man has to eat) doesn't sweat out my back like some of those cushioned chairs can do. Of course I'm also working for home with my own thermostat so I can keep it as cold as I want in here. :) The seat cushion has not shown any disfiguring or permanent compression even after holding my fat *ss for over 3,000 hours. That's saying something! The only complaint I have is that I wish the reclining tilt had an adjustment step or two. Your choices are only: lock it vertically or allow it to fully recline to its limit. Locked vertical is TOO vertical for me as I feel like I'm sliding off the front of the seat. So I have to keep it in recline mode which does allow (force) me to slouch more than I'd like and is not the best look on camera. If it had a locking position at maybe 25% or 50% reclined I'd go 5 stars on this with no question. If I buy a second chair I might also opt for the headrest version but that's another $200 and without sitting it in while reclined I'm not sure if it would reach my head at the position I work. So I have no regrets from buying this version without the headrest. It's a great chair.

Easily the best chair I have ever bought

After a year and a half of owning this chair, I can still say it's as comfortable as the day I bought it, nothing has broken, and it still feels like new. It's one of the most comfortable chairs I have ever owned/sat in, and it really stands up over time which is something that doesn't seem to happen often for daily use office chairs. Since working from home is now more of an option, I"m buying a 2nd one so that I have one in both locations. This chair wil stand up over time and is worth every penny.

Wonderfully wide but a bit too recline-y

I bought this chair because I was tired of dents on the sides of my thighs from my old, rather basic office chair. This chair is wonderfully wide--definitely well designed for those blessed in the hips! The cushion is quite firm, but I actually like that. I am 5' 8" tall, but most of my height is in my legs. My feet are flat on the ground at the lowest setting--I think the chair would not work for anyone shorter, or for those who have shorter legs for their height. My only complaint about the chair is that the back does not adjust, and its position is a bit too reclined for my taste. I like to sit very upright, so for most people this probably wouldn't be an issue. One hint about putting it together...definitely use an armless chair or stool to support the seat as you are screwing the parts together. It is not a difficult assembly, but the chair is quite heavy (66 pounds!) so it really does need a support. I also agree with the reviewers who recommended a longer Allen key if you have one, and a pair of gloves. There is a fair amount of torque necessary to get the bolts in tightly. Also, don't put the arms on backwards! Not my brightest moment ;)

Product broke after 3 months

I purchased this product as I was looking for chair that would be a comfortable height for someone that is over 6'8". Initially I was thrilled. The chair was comfy, looked nice, and most importantly my knees no longer hurt from being to low to the ground. However, 3 months later, at the time I am writing this review the chair suspension has totally given out, and will no longer rise past the lowest it can go. On the rare occasion it does, putting any weight on it will cause it to sink back down to the floor immediately. For a chair that cost over $400cad at the time of purchase, for it to break this quickly is unacceptable. I was looking forward to using it for many years to come, but now it is completely unusable.

We received a different chair and it took weeks to arrive. We'll keep it since it took so long, but beware it's BO.
