You *can* use it with your IKEA but...
You CAN use this on your IKEA, in -- for instance -- your Besta unit, in place of the screw-in 'legs' which you normally would use to level the unit. So with casters, you can wheel your Besta TV unit around. [Because :::: IKEA discontinued their own casters, the Rats.] The screw-thread on this caster is smaller than the screw-thread on the IKEA 'legs' so you will just slip this into the place where you'd normally screw in the IKEA 'leg.' But it's close enough to the right size so it doesn't Wobble, and it is exactly the right length. For the record, this item is ONE caster. A little pricey, but it certainly appears to be sturdy, and I like the way the brake operates.

Probably best wheels you can get for 1/4 inches. Most heavy duty casters only work with larger screw diameter. I bought two with breaks and two without. The breaks don't seem to work very well. Maybe I should have ordered all four with breaks. But other than that it works smoothly.

create a rolling cart easily
I bought these casters to create a rolling sewing cart that I can keep in my spare closet so that I don't have to keep my sewing machine out all the time, but it's still really easily accessible. Sewing machine sits on top and supplies are on the shelves below. I just pull it out of the closet, plug it in and sew. Could use same concept for art supplies, printer/fax, etc. Rolling carts cost $50 - $100, but with four of these casters and a $19.99 wire shelving unit, I made a rolling cart for about $35 (and in under 5 minutes) They work great and roll smoothly. Home Depot (where i bought the shelving unit) does NOT sell the right thread size casters to fit their shelving units (perhaps to force you to buy the expensive rolling cart?), but these are the right size and screwed in perfectly. The only problem is that I purchased four wheels with brakes, and they sent me 3 wheels with brakes and one without, by accident. It's not worth me sending back to exchange, since with the other three wheels locked, the cart ain't goin' anywhere.

Best caster for small entertainment stands!
If you are building your own entertainment stands, as I did, then you need quality pieces that will effectively work with the design at hand. These wheels just work - perfectly. Plus, the locking mechanism is an added bonus. Move your equipment around, lock it down, and you're set. And, before I forget, these wheels will not "mark" your floors. They are a great buy!

Exactly what I was looking for. the wheel is a 2" diameter, and the stem is threaded, 1" long, 1/4" diameter. It's just one caster to replace one that was someone missing after my sister moved. Amazon is the only place I could find a threaded stem. It matched the other 3 perfectly and rolled easily in all directions when unlocked. The lock engages and disengages easily.
