Good, needs to be modified to work accurately.

Timers work, do what they're supposed to. However to be more accurate and actually stop the timer they need to be taller. The reason a lot of people aren't getting the timer to start or stop is because the runner is stepping OVER the beam. Bring out 4 chairs, stools, whaterver and have the beam be at stomach heigh. Zero issues. Just annoying that I need to bring other materials AND, this is probably by design, these wont attach to a normal tripod. Fix that and 100% best product ive purchased for my track team.

Needs some improvement.

I own several timing products. I do track and field timing so I own a true FAT system.. I also own timing gates. This was a cheap risk to try out. The pros-.. it's compact easy to carry, fits in the carry bag and it's easy to set up. The cons - unless your timing rolling wheels or 8 year olds running on a track/grass you will be disappointed at the accuracy of the gates. Any high school sprinters stride will be higher than as tall as these speed gates. They need to be lifted.. at minimum 24 inches maybe even 30 inches. I tried using my tripods from my other system but the awkward cone did not fit on top of my tripod. As far as accuracy, a little suspect.. An athlete ran 1.02 on this system.. best time before that on other systems 1.2 and he's a 14 second 100m sprinter. So I would not trust the accuracy until the sensor is lifted to catch the athlete running through the gates. My advice for potential buyers... If you can raise the sensors, or but them on a platform to raise the senors.. maybe not a bad buy/purchase. That's my next steps.. to raise the senor. And then I will get more use out of it.. Affordable timer with issues

I've been using the SKLZ Speed Gates for my BMX sprint training and I must say they are very easy to set up and very affordable. However, I did encounter a couple of issues. Firstly, I found that the timer start can be initiated by shadows, which can be a bit frustrating. Secondly, when I'm at my top speed, the finish beam doesn't always catch me. This can be a major issue, especially when I'm trying to track my progress and improve my speed. Overall, I believe that the SKLZ Speed Gates are a decent option for those who are looking for an affordable training tool. However, it's important to keep in mind that they do have some limitations. If you're looking for a more accurate and reliable training tool, you may want to consider other options.

Took a chance and it works great.

Timing systems similar to this can range way up in price there maybe some limits to distance compared to this but. It is totally workable with the range it has for me. I use this to time sprints it helps give you a idea of progress you are making.

Exactly what I was looking for.

For anyone serious about their training and who does not want to spend the money for the pro-units, this is a great option. It would be better if it could do 60y times, but considering the price, it's all I need. USER FRIENDLY too.

Few issues but a solid 3.9 stars

The other reviews were spot on, you have better results when you elevate the gates up a little. Due to where you leg is when you pass the gate you may step over the beam to stop the timer if it’s just set on the ground as intended. When it works I found it worked well. My first item of this kind, took me a while to finally get around to using it but I’m mostly satisfied. Sometimes the start gate tripped for me and started before I wanted it to but easy to start over and very user friendly and easy to learn to use. Portability definitely one of the better features.

Excellent Hockey timer

Pros: Very easy to use once setup. Very quick to time many players. Cons: A little tricky to get the sensors to line up and there should be a way to enable/disable the start gate from triggering, but these are very minor issues for something so good and affordable. Would really like to know if multiple units can be used in the same.
