Clean yard!
It's the small things in life, a clean yard is one of them. Two dogs and even though we go on walks, they go in the yard. Placed near our compost and its great. Adding water each time, you need to develop a habit but it's worth it.

A Must Have!
We have three dogs - two large and one extra large and this is a lifesaver! It was easy to install and use. No more poop odor! I can enjoy sitting in my backyard and the neighbors don't have to smell poop! If you have dogs, make sure you purchase the Doggie Dooley 3000 Septic-Tank.

Super solution to dog waste
I don't know what we would do without it. Very simple to install and use. Highly recommend anyone with dogs.

Well built
I just receive the product. I've used others like it over the years, and this one is well built. I will relate more in the Fall of 2023.

Winterizing Doley
Purchased Model 3800 about a year ago. Poor results because our soil drained the water too quickly so the enzyme tables never got a chance to work properly. Purchased Model 3000 one month ago. Worked well until the weather became cold so I installed an aquarium heater with a temperature gauge to keep the water warm so that we could use it in cold weather. Will see how this works and update review. Update: The heater is working, the temperature outside has gotten down to 30 deg, and the temperature in the Dooley stays at 70 deg. The Dooley is digesting the poop well, I have a 100 lb Shepard/Huskey mix and he make a lot of poop. The smell has actually gone down down.

Too much from our house for this
I love the idea of this taking the poo out of the yard so you don't step in it or have a dog decide to eat it (the red one... I understand its a thing sometimes). Like the idea of not adding poop to a landfill too! Unfortunately first problem is we have 3 dogs at 65-85-90 lbs and the quantity of poop exceeds what can be processed. The second issue is here in Tennessee the soil can have high clay content and yet I tried this anyway. The hole underneath can literally get full to the bucket toward the end of the summer; especially if the ground is saturated. Clearly in the directions the subject of too many dogs and clay soil are stated to be negatives to the function so consider this more a cautionary note. What I am doing is scooping-and-landfill about 4 days a week and using the dooley for the rest. Its a great thing for people who watch my dogs to use as well. If it does get too full I add extra septic powder and not add more poo for a few days and it always evens out. I have found occasional "shake and bake" the Walmart septic powder in the scoop on the fresh poo right before adding it to the dooley effective. Ultimately I do recommend this product but be aware it may not be able to handle 100% of the capacity your pets produce. It does reduce what goes into the landfill from our house and that's always a good thing. good luck!

Easiest Dog Waste Management System Ever!
We currently have 3 dogs, 2 smalls (10lbs) and 1 med/lg (60lbs). After many years of struggling with how best to dispose of dog poop and keep the yard clean (and the neighbors happy) - it seems we have finally found a system that is super easy, and super effective! We have been using the Doggie Dooley 3000 Septic-Tank-Style Pet-Waste Disposal System for about a week now, and are so impressed!! It is great to have a single place to collect the poop, there is no odor, and the maintenance is minimal! The hardest part was deciding where to put it - and digging the hole. Where we live, once you get about 3 feet down you hit red clay - so we did a little drainage test to make sure the water would absorb in a timely fashion before we finished our Doggie Dooley installation. Once you have it installed - just fill the tank, add the appropriate number of enzyme tablets - and the system is ready to start handling your messy dog waste! We add a gallon of clean water every morning, and add collected poop throughout the day (add new tablets 1x week). The only time we have noticed an odor is when we add the fresh water and are churning up the poop water in the tank - but that is minimal - and once the lid is closed you wouldn't even know it was there. If you have curious dogs - like ours - then I recommend installing the tank somewhere that the dogs don't have access, because the lid is easy to open and does not have a latch. Also, be careful of splash back when adding new poop or water to the tank. We keep a full gallon jug of clean water beside the tank to make things easy - rather than dragging out the hose every morning. I am so glad we finally decided to give this a try - so far so good!

Easy and convenient for dog waste disposal
The toughest part of this project was digging a 4' deep hole the correct size. Beyond the install it is a very easy way to handle the poo along with the enzyme tabs. I don't notice any odor with the lid closed but it's a "treat" when you open it to add to it and add the water. Stay out of the splash zone!

The hole is massive and will probably collapse
I bought this in September 2017 and paid someone to dig the massive hole required. I tried myself but a three to four foot hole is not easy, particularly as you don’t want it too wide. So before the first turd went in, it’d cost a fair whack. I set it up and used it for a few weeks until it got too cold. I should say I have a small dog and a large dog. I bought the huge model. After the beast from the east I set it up again. I was scooping every day, adding water and putting the enzyme in weekly, according to the instructions. I must say that the smell when you add the water is like nothing you can imagine. It is nostril burning, stomach churning nasty. But I was ok with it as I wasn’t filling my bin up with poo. Three months later and the hole beneath the Dooley has collapsed and it is unusable. I have been helpfully advised to “dig it up and site it elsewhere”! I’m not going to do that. From the forums I’ve read this is not unusual. So if you are going to get one, think about the size of hole required and how you can shore up the sides to stop collapse. It is an engineering feat to do this properly.

Experience with UK installation
Purchased for single working cocker spaniel (~12kg), with plan to get another dog in about a year. Was concerned about plastic lid. Especially the idea that the lid would be too flimsy or that a child might step on the lid and fall in. But, on delivery, found the lid to be quite small, so I'm not concerned. The lid is big enough to make it easy to put in the dog waste, but not so big that I'm worried someone would fall in. I knew at the time of ordering that my ground was not clay. The problem with clay is that the ground is required to absorb excess water from the unit. As every gardener knows, clay ground doesn't absorb water. I chose unobtrusive location to install, nestled in a corner and slightly hidden by a hedge. But near the place where we have encouraged the dog to go to the toilet. Took about two hours to install, about an hour of which was removing two large stones found when digging. Used post hole digger, spade, trowel, and spirit level. The only reason I needed a trowel was to clear space around large stones so they could be lifted out. Getting level was important to me because of flow of waste water. Installation guide suggests digging 48" hole depth (14" around), with the unit sitting in the top 24" and an empty space below (also 24"). When you add water to the unit day-to-day, the excess water drains from the unit above into the hole below, and this excess water then seeps into the surrounding ground. I had concerns with the side walls below being unstable, and what I would do if the hole is was dug too big and then the unit wouldn't be held in place at the top. So, instead of leaving a bare hole, I took a section of plumbing soil pipe (about £10 from B&Q, but only comes in 10' length), cut to about 3' length with a hacksaw, drilled with many holes, and buried this pipe section below the drain from the top unit. After this, I was able to fill in around the drain pipe, and then have a solid base upon which to set the top unit. Started the unit today by filling with a hose and adding a couple of the digester tablets that came with the unit (it came with 12 tables, recommended one tablet per dog per week). The instructions suggest adding 4 litres of water each time you add waste, and not to overload the unit by adding multiple days at a time. We collect the dog's waste as she produces it, so I expect I'll end up adding a few litres a couple of times a week.

Doggy doings
A bit of thought in the setup and it goes on and on. Not too pongy, the bucket we use to transport the "labrador landmines" to the tank smells a lot lot worse than the septic tank. - buy the tablets, a lot easier to add to the tank than the powder. Follow the instructions and it's quite straightforward to set up. Disappointed that the enzyme goes slow in cold weather but I should have thought of that, but then there's almost zero whiff in cold weather, so a reasonable compromise

Having one of these is definitely better than nothing and is a lot better than some ...
Having one of these is definitely better than nothing and is a lot better than some of the other rubbish dog loos out there. However, there are handful of design flaws so obvious it doesn't make me think much thought went into this product. Firstly, the casing is made of a nice sturdy metal but the lid and top is a very flimsy plastic. The top should also be a strong metal material to stop any heavy branches falling on top and breaking it, or god forbid any person tripping on it and getting their foot stuck in it. You are instructed to use post hole digger to install this in the ground however there are no such post hole diggers that will dig a hole with a circumference as wide as the dog loo. This loo would be be much better being narrower and deeper than it is. The overflow tube is a little too high for my liking. The lovely dog slurry comes up just above ground level when you open the lid and you will have to stand back a bit from the splashing when you flush it with the hose.
