Might need to rework a bit...
I liked the simplicity of this product, however, once installed per specs it would leak out of the connecting spouts as if there was clogged. I had to take a sanding dremel and elongate the open fissure inside the unit to allow water to flow more easily when using the red cap option. Also, the white tube they give you to funnel water into whatever basin you're using easily crimps and hinders water flow as well. I put a wooden dowel rod in there when not in use in hopes to encourage a more round rather than flatter shape. After these two amendments, my test runs using a garden hose in the gutter were successful, but we haven't see rain in the last few days so I can't say how a real time application works, but I am optimistic. Overall, a very clean look and a relatively easy set up.

Thought This Was It!
I think the product is well made. I couldn’t use it. The current setup required complete diversion of the rainwater into a IBC tote. My installer said it couldn’t work. I had to return it☹️

Works well, hose is useless
Product itself is fine. Works well enough and easy to install. The include hose though is useless due to the way it’s packaged. It’s so kinked in multiple places that it completely blocks the water flow. Tried multiple methods to restore hose to useable shape including leaving in the sun and running hot water through it but nothing worked. It returns to the kinked state that it arrived in. Poor hose/packaging of hose…needs improvement or just left out altogether.

It works!
I was a little skeptical when I opened the box because of how little amount of water this design seems to be diverting away from the main spout. After a lot of back and forth I decided to install it anyway and give it a try. This diverter actually works! It only took a weekend of rain to fill up my 50gal barrel.

purchased this to divert some of the water from my downspout to another shrub
I purchased this rain barrel water diverter to not use as a rain barrel diverter, I’m using it to direct some of the water from my downspout to a shrub nearby before I installed, this downspout was putting too much water on some nearby plants, so I went ahead and installed this, and now is directing some of that water to a nearby shrub. I was able to turn the sprinkler off for that shrub as well. I have since painted it to match the existing downspout

Seems to Work
Straightforward to install, despite the instructions contradicting themselves. See photo. 1 night of rain and the barrel is almost full. So far it is doing what is claims. The real test in my mind will be how the overflow is handled. I am not sure it will work. I hope I am wrong.

Great but not universal. Hose included.
I got this to connect my rain gutter down spout to my rain barrel. I have the rectangular squared edge gutter and this didn’t fit. I had to shave down some of the plastic and bought an adaptor for the bottom portion. Made the simple install quite cumbersome. But after I got it to fit, it works great! Made from high quality plastic and the hose is included. For some reason Amazon shows them sold separately.

Used for a rain barrel install
Was very easy to install, and it work perfectly. I would suggest letting the diverter tube sit out in the sun for a while to unkink the hose, but other than that it's been doing exactly what it's supposed to do. I would highly recommend this.

Very good with collecting low flow. However, does not have a good way to prevent barrel overflow
I bought this product as well as Fiskers Diverter and hence I am posting my whole story as a single review. I like the simple mechanism of Fiskers diverter (the other product), it does a very good job in preventing overflow. Also it captures high flow quite well and better than Oatey 14209 Mystic diverter (this product). However, Fiskers is not very good in capturing low flow. Most of the water just goes right down the downspout and go to waste. Having said that note that Oatey diverter has the opposite problem. It captures low flow really well, but during high flow, most of the water is just wasted. Also, Oatey diverter (this product) does not have a good way of preventing barrel overflow, unless you make your barrel and the feed tube watertight all the way up to the outlet port of the Oatey. Compared to that Fiskers has a very nice way of preventing overflow when connected to a barrel with a non-watertight lid like mine (see the picture). I was initially very disappointed with the leak in Fiskers, and also its inability to capture low flow. But I had invested too much time in to installing it to just tear down the whole thing and just return the product and buy a different one. So I made it work. I bought a used Oatey 14209 Mystic diverter for slightly cheaper. Oatey is very good at collecting low flow. I connected the output of Oatey in to one of the outlets of Fiskers. Fiskers having two outlets in either side helped. I have attached a picture of my strange arrangement to the review. Don't judge the looks! This contraption works really well. It combines the strengths of both products in a synergistic manner. Also note that I used the connector hoses supplied with the two products in a bit of a hacky way and did not buy anything extra. At the end, I am happy with my system.

Good to go!
Good for the rain barrel, easy to install, great direction. Just keep in mind an overflow is also needed for the rain barrel, especially if it's close to the house. Overall , does what it is meant to do.
